Aside from the conversations he had the whole 4 hour appointment, that were continually referring to his privates without saying the actual word, I was uncomfortable the whole time. But aside from his comments after putting all the foil on he put me under the heater and then walked away and took his 3rd or 4th phone call since I'd gotten there. I knew personal stuff was happening with his family so I wouldn't have cared except for the fact my head started burning to the point my body was shaking. I tried to wave him down but he didn't see me nor was he paying attention. I tried to get another stylists attention but sadly she was busy with another client and didn't see me (which I don't blame her for obviously I'm his client his responsibility). I scooted out of the heater trying to get the foil off my burning scalp when he finally noticed and came over. Only to touch the foil and jump back saying "it got me!". Mind you he didn't get it off my head still so my scalp is still being burned while he's airing off his hand. After admitting it was too hot he pulled off my foils and even admitted I should have been under the heater an additional 5 minutes. I asked him and another stylist if my head had been burned or hair fried because the pain was not going away even after my hair was washed. Both told me no no your head is fine, it's not even red then proceeded to continue yanking on my hair or scrubbing it intensely during my wash. This was the most painful salon experience I've ever had. Needless to say when I got home I had my husband check my head as it still was throbbing only to find my scalp had indeed been badly burned and I had oils leaking out for days trying to heal it with a massive scab that lasted well over a month. Will asked me questions throughout my salon session and ensured I was involved every step of the way, even making sure my part was how I liked it with gel. Overall, it is a great experience and I usually leave happy with my hair. The stylists are always super friendly and we have pleasant conversations during. It is worth mentioning that this salon has staff who have different experience levels. I have always chosen or been placed with a stylist with a high experience level, but this time I chose to take a gamble and go with someone at a "level 1"... this was where I went wrong. We had a great conversation, and I told her the exact haircut that I wanted- just a simple medium length cut with lots of layers (I had long hair). Additionally, I provided about five reference photos of the exact haircut that I wanted. I figured the haircut would be simple enough to replicate. I told her verbatim "please just not too short". I expected that she would deliver the haircut that I wanted with the information I provided and the photos. This was not the case.... my idea of a medium length haircut was erased and replaced with essentially a "long bob" ... which is very short... about 4 inches shorter than what I asked for. I really wish that she had followed my instructions of where I wanted it to be cut at. I think that she did not have enough experience and didn't consider the fact that wet hair appears much shorter once it is dry. Another item that I did not care for was that my typical 45 minute haircut took her an hour and a half to complete. I do not mind the fact that she took her time, so much as that she cut my hair entirely too short despite knowing that I wanted a medium length like the photos. I will be honest and just say it outright: my hair looks hideous now :( I left the salon feeling very sad and disappointed- only clinging to the fact that hair grows back. Despite being super upset about my hair, I will continue to go to the salon blu, but I highly recommend that anyone who goes to this place chooses a stylist at a high level. Lesson learned

I came in wanting a lighter, cooler-toned balayage and showed an inspo photo of hair she had previously done herself. However, the final result turned out much warmer/orangier than expected. I completely understand the complexity of coloring and bleaching and that results may not always turn out exactly as planned. I was never told before, during, or after the appointment that my hair had not lifted enough to achieve the desired tone until I reached out afterward myself. After contacting the salon, the corrective option offered was a darker glaze/toner, which wasn't really the direction I wanted to go, so I decided not to do it because I wasn't confident it would achieve the result I was hoping for.

The salon itself is incredibly modern and welcoming, it's honestly beautiful inside. Laura D. cut my hair and she was so thorough and very meticulous throughout the whole process. I brought in inspo photos to show her what I wanted- in the end, she gave me exactly that! Rarely do I ever leave a haircut 100% happy, but not in this case! After exploring several salons in the triangle, and unhappy with the results after most, I am so glad I found this Salon and had Laura do my hair.
