We hired Patrick Conboy to do a kitchen and downstairs remodel. Unfortunately, we were unaware of all of the negative reviews on the internet regarding Patrick Conboy before we hired him. Regrettably, our experience with Patrick Conboy was similarly poor. Patrick Conboy demands a lot of money up front and then keeps pushing back the delivery and installation dates. "Cabinets going in next week." Next week in what month, in what year, in what decade, in what millennium? The project timeline went well beyond the agreed-upon deadline, due to these delays which caused significant inconvenience and delayed other planned renovations. The initial estimate provided by Patrick Conboy was significantly lower than the final cost, leading to unexpected increased expenses. Patrick Conboy demanded more money for projects that were mutually agreed upon in his initial budget proposal. We were not informed of those price increases until several months into the project after demolition had occurred Specifically, we agreed to price of $9,000 for our den fireplace. Three months later Patrick Conboy demanded $22,000. We agreed to a price of $12,500 for our wet bar. Three months later Patrick Conboy demanded $28,000. Patrick Conboy repeatedly lied that items had been purchased and were "on the way" when, in fact, they had not been purchased. Patrick Conboy is untrustworthy and unprofessional. We showed Patrick Conboy numerous areas that had been done improperly. In particular, the painting was horrendous. Wood was not sanded, primed or painted properly. Patrick Conboy promised to fix those problems but never did. We spent thousands of dollars fixing the work done improperly by Patrick Conboy. Patrick Conboy doesn't care that his workmanship is of inferior quality, shoddy and done carelessly. Patick Conboy failed to fix the damage he did to our property. When the damage was pointed out to him, Patrick Conboy responded "You mean I have to find someone to fix that?" If you are responsible for property damage, you are obligated to fix it. Patrick Conboy never did fix the damage he did to our property. Again, we spent thousands of dollars fixing the damage to our property done by Patrick Conboy. In summary, we would not recommend Patrick Conboy and Skyline Kitchen and Bath for a home remodel project. Patrick Conboy abandoned the job, ran away and did not finish the work he was supposed to do. There is a reason that there are so many negative reviews of Patrick Conboy and Skyline and Kitchen and Bath on the internet. read more

Pat and his crew did an excellent job remodeling our gym bathrooms. He took two 1954 bathrooms and brought them up to code and gave them a modern look. This job took longer than most because of the age of the building. There was a lot involved. From old pipes and roots in the drains, Pat's team handled it all with a smile. The job site was clean and cordoned off so our students stayed to a safe distance during the process. The team worked well with our Facilities staff and handled whatever was necessary. The tile, the new sinks, commodes, and the partitions all came out nicely. They even painted and tiled the area in-between the two bathrooms to give the whole surround a modern, new feel. Finally, they hung new doors for each room that helped finish the job. The extra polish they added to our gym made the rest of it pale by comparison! We're now in the process of upgrading the rest. Throughout the course of 25 years, we have experienced five home remodels from kitchens to add-ons. Our last remodel, adding a 5x8 island, removing walls, and everything in-between, Skyline was the best. From outdated to stunning! I had a special circumstance with my remodel. I needed a contractor that was willing to work unsupervised. My husband was hospitalized with Leukemia for 6 weeks and between visits to the hospital and working I didn't have the luxury of taking time to watch over contractors. I needed an ADA compliant bathroom with an open shower so it was wheelchair accessible.From my first meeting with Pat I felt at ease. Each day when I returned home Pat and I would discuss the job's progress and what the next days plan would be. My husband is home and the bathroom is perfect. Pat Conboy was horribly dishonest and ran his business the same way. He did substandard work and hired unqualified people to work on our home. He took payments for work he didn't finish and refused to refund. He told many lies and left my property in a terrible state. He left my property unfinished and damaged. Pay attention to the other negative reviews...working with Pat Conboy is a nightmare! He takes your money and then disappears. When things go wrong he's too busy to be bothered to set them right. He has been sued (and lost) for taking someone's money and not performing the work. He has an excuse for everything! He will not honor any warranties on work. The list of issues was endless. I hired a Pat Conboy at skyline kitchen and Bath to do full remodels on my kitchen and three bathrooms, plus to replace flooring, trim etc. I can't express with words how let down I was by him. He was VERY DISHONEST and cashed checks he should not have cashed at times he should not have cashed them. When confronted, he refused to return the money he took and NEVER started the work that the money was actually for. Pat also hired Day-labor off of Craigslist to do some of the work. He promised me contractors and subcontractors and while I got a few of those, I also got craigslist day-laborer guys who came back to the house time and again well after Pat at Skyline had left. I'm female...It was just plain scary! I spent a ton of time and money out of pocket, fixing the horrendous work Pat did. He should be ashamed of himself. It's been a few years and I am still waiting on him to return several thousand dollars from the check he cashed for a bathroom he never ever began work on. The time-line was never met, not once, not even on the first day. Just lie after lie. I spent a fortune out of pocket fixing his mess-ups. Do your due diligence here and don't just rely on reviews. Look him up properly. I wish I had. I wasn't the first person he ripped off. He was sued (and he lost) after taking another lady's money and not doing any work. At the time he was doing my house....he still owed that poor lady $140,000.00! He admitted to me at that time, he never paid her back. She got the judgement...but he quite happily told me he didn't pay her what he owed. You'll find that if you search him on the OC courts website. BEWARE!!!! Imagine our disappointment when we went into the showroom where Pat was on Saturday at 11:30..by himself..whistling away..after about 10-15 minutes of uncomfortable wandering, my husband asked him he was a customer or if he worked there? He said he worked there and was the owner and did remodels "nuts to Finish" then blew us off. My husband was so mad, and he is incredibly mild mannered. I first used Skyline back in 2004 to completely remodel my kitchen. I had no idea what I wanted and when Pat came over to look at the space he immediately began his artistry in suggesting some really fun and beautiful finishing ideas. I actually ended up doing exactly what his first vision was because it was so good! Now, 11 years later, I am still in love with what he did. His crew was friendly, on time, worked hard and consistently (real important when you're stuck eating out every day until it's done!) Be very careful here, if you are thinking about Skyline Kitchen and Bath for your remodel - keep thinking and look elsewhere. In March of 2013 I chose Skyline Kitchen in Bath for a bathroom remodel, in part because this contractor offered a warranty that covered all work including labor and materials for 60 months after completion. This was stated in the contract. Now I have cracked grout on the floor tile and owner Pat Conboy, ignores my requests to fix this. The initial deposit was for materials ready to go for the install, this was not done. No materials were ordered or bought beforehand. During construction I had to purchase items, sink, toilet, light fixtures and shower door on my credit card and deduct from the balance of the contract. Some of the other issues we had during construction was going on: The remodel took 6 weeks longer to complete than quoted, we were renting another place so that was an inconvenience for us. When we did move back in there was still painting to be done and the shower door installation to be completed. The custom cabinets were painted the incorrect color and finish, twice. The painters turned on the gas pilot on my stove while the appliances were covered in plastic. During demolition my new clothes dryer was damaged. A week ago I spoke with the owner again regarding the cracked grout lines and he said his tile man was difficult to get in contact with and suggested I fill in the crack with a caulking that looks like grout! This on a bathroom that is barely a year old and under warranty. So my advice is don't contract with Skyline Kitchen and Bath and Pat Conboy, he does not stand behind his word. read more

Skyline recently completed a complete remodel of my guest bathroom. Pat and his team made this so easy for me. He came out to look at the space and to see what needed to be done and then we sat down at his showroom to choose tiles, vanity, tub, fixtures etc. Most of the people I got quotes from expected me to find and purchase all of those things myself, which not only would have been a lot of work but created a risk that I would purchase something that would not fit. Once they started the project moved along quickly and was completed within 3 weeks. All of the subcontractors were excellent and Pat and his guys all communicated with me very clearly about what was going on and what to expect. He stopped by almost daily to ensure that the work was being done well and that everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. There were no surprise costs and the finished bathroom looks awesome. Pat is an artist. He's also an interpreter who gets husband and wife, tradesman and homeowner all speaking the same language. After years of collecting magazine clippings and photos from hotels where we liked the style, we were ready to remodel. Pat turned all those clippings, ideas and vague feelings into a finished work of art. Considering the detail of the custom woodwork, faux finishes, custom tile and granite surfaces etc, I thought the price was very fair. Pat spent 2 shopping days with us of about 2 hours each looking for the kitchen tile back-splash. In the end, he ordered a mixed set of tile where we only used 25% since we did not like the other colors in the set. He did not add a charge for this to our estimate. Things did not always go perfectly, but Pat always made it right. Even when a cabinet was completely installed, but not what my wife and I had expected, Pat just had his guys remove it and reinstall a new one. A large custom beveled mirror was broken on installation and it was simply re-ordered and replaced. We were never made to feel like we were imposing on his time. Pat was genuinely excited for us and was as into getting it right as we were. On a three month project, the whole thing ran about 2 weeks over. I consider that a huge success. The jacuzzi tub was ordered late in the process and we had plywood covering the whole for a couple weeks. Again, in the big picture of a whole house remodel, not bad at all. In my opinion, Pat is a man of high character and always did the right thing. If I have another remodel in my future, I'm calling Pat. I enjoyed the process so much that sometimes I look at fixer-uppers in the real estate market and think to my self, "Pat could really make this place beautiful." read more

Surprised by some of the negative reviews here. We just completed a full kitchen remodel with Pat and his crew at Skyline, and we couldn't be happier with the process and the results. Pat was involved from the start, assisting with all decisions and choices, from materials to design options, to make sure it stayed within budget and made sense functionally and artistically. The project started on time, and more importantly, finished nearly on time. The quality of the work is remarkable: from the doors and drawers (far superior to anything else we looked at, especially when compared to the likes of Home Depot or Lowe's as alternatives) to installation, everything was precise and meticulous. Plumbing, electric, tile work, paint, everything was outstanding. Everyone on the project was courteous, on time, focused, and top notch at their trade. Pat was in touch via text message on a daily basis informing us of next steps etc. No surprises.
