I was a walk in and the salon looked clean. The lady I was put with seemed a bit stand offish. She was also a bit rough. Drying the acrylic in the UV lamp burned and I tried to remove my hand and she made me put it back in even though I told her it burns. Her drill bit also moved over my skin quite a bit but it did not cut my skin. She also left a bit of stuff under my nail (I don't know what it is) but I think I can file it away at home. I have gone here several times. Honestly there is such a variety of skill between the technicians, it's almost impossible to review. The last visit I asked for my nails to be filed down. She drilled them. This is how one of my nails looked. It still feels uncomfortable. She got too close and burned my skin. I also asked her to paint closer to the bottom and side of the nail-bed. She completely ignored that request. For the premium prices they charge, this is subpar to say the least. Beware if you're getting a gel pedicure. They tack an extra $25 on for gel polish plus charge for the removal of the gel polish. Finally a note to management: it's not kind to have the technicians talking in Vietnamese about your clients while they're sitting there. Maybe it's a cultural thing. This is not a friendly place and they need to realize there are many other nail salons to choose from. read more

Typical nail salon. Nothing overly great and nothing overly had. I got a basic pedicure. I was taken to a chair immediately on a Wednesday afternoon. The technician was nice. She was very quick (not good for relaxing) but she did a decent job. I wish she would have spent a little more time with the particulars but I've had way worse experiences! My friend (who I was with) seems to think highly of their work here and since she lives here and comes here often so that's good enough for me. Skyline is located in Pine Center and offers walk-in nail services. Pros: convenient location and good hours. Cons: my last and only visit ended in me being over scrubbed to the point my foot bled all of my pedicure. The nail person literally took all of the skin off the back of my left foot, offered no apology and no band aid. I walked out with a flip flop covered in blood. Additionally, the manicure and sterilization sanitary conditions seem to be questionable. I would not recommend and suggest visiting one of the other nail salons in the near area. read more

I made an appointment for 5pm on a Tuesday. They overbooked themselves so badly, that I waited until 6:30 to be serviced. Walk ins were being seated before me. Making an appointment did not make a difference and I waited 90 minutes. Then, I wanted to change my color before she started, and she made a big deal out of it... making me feel bad for asking. Her technique was rough and painful. In addition, they do not clean tools or area between clients. The prices were way to expensive, and I will not be coming back. I went here with my friend because she was raving about how good of a job we do. I called and made us appointments for 5pm. We get there and they were a little busy so I knew there was going to be a wait. At 5:15 they took my friend and started on her nails. A little bit after that one of the nail techs finished with her client and came over and took a walk in instead of me, someone that had an appointment. She started this girls nails and then came back over to me to tell me it was going to be a little bit longer. She then asked what I wanted to do. I told her that I wanted a full set of acrylics, which is what I said on the phone. She told me that I couldn't get acrylics and that I had to get dip nails with tips and it'll be the same thing. I said no because that's not what I wanted to do. She then brought me the dip swatches after I told her I didn't want dip and said to pick one. I sat for another 15 minutes waiting. 5:45 I finally was sat down and told that they can only do dip because they're busy. Whatever I would deal with it. A week later one of my nails just snapped. My two cousins got a regular mani pedi, one paid $32 another paid $35. My aunt got the same thing, but with clear nails and paid $40. This doesn't make sense. Oh! But the worst happened to my other cousin. She asked for fake nails. What did she get? A French manicure for $62. She asked 3 times for fake nails, but nope. The person doing them just wouldn't do them. These people totally ripped us off and we didn't even get what we asked for. They didn't even paint my toes fully (the didn't paint the sides). This is ridiculous. I paid so much money for such shity quality. I'm never going here again and I will never recommend this place. Please save yourself time and money and go somewhere else! Came here on a Monday afternoon with my sister for a basic mani pedi. We were kind of in a rush, but they took us right away despite how busy the salon was. Both nail technicians were preoccupied with multiple customers at one time, but the massage chairs were amazing, so we didn't mind. They did an average job. My only complaint is that the tools did not seem that clean, and the nail file was very used. It was $35 for both the mani/pedi. Which is not bad except that it said $30 online. If there's one thing that I'm strange about, it would be having a stranger do my mani/pedi. I mean, they're holding my hands and feet. I need someone I'm comfortable with, and I must say I found the one! Now, I'm not that high maintenance w/ my nails. I mostly get a regular or gel mani/pedi. They provide you w/ flip-flops if you forget esp. during the winter. The massage pedi seats are comfy and the layout is not crowded. I have been coming here for 2 years or maybe even longer. I always request for Tina and feel like I've gotten to know her. I can see why customers feel like the technicians are unfriendly/rude. There are some that are not as talkative as others. Frankly, I think a lot of customers don't mind bc I see most of them are on their phones, reading a magazine, watching the lonely tv in the corner, or not caring to converse at all. I don't know vietnamese, but they try to talk to you if you talk to them and leave you be if you don't. Tina is nice, asks if water temp is ok, does a great job at cleaning and recommending polish etc if you ask. If you get a regular mani/pedi, she carries your things for you/help you out. Unfortunately, she did snip a little off my cuticle last time. No biggie bc I rinsed it and she cleaned it well with some alcohol and it was fine. Honestly, give nail technicians a break/chance. Awful today. Walked in at 1pm, they said a 15 minute wait. Name on the list, I came back at 1:15. Didnt clean the pedicure chair before offering me to sit. Sat for 20 minutes in a chair with no water for a pedicure. Asked to be able to soak while I waited. Another 10 minutes go by. Asked again to soak. With an attitude, they turned on water, no bubbles, no soap. I waited another 20 minutes until a pedicurist started on my feet. I have been coming here for years and it has steadily progressed to this. I will not ever be back. There was no acknowledgement for my wait and the women were clearly speaking of me while I sat. Horrible service. The quality of service here varies drastically. I have been to Skyline and been very pleased with the work. Michael really took his time, and used multiple drill tips to file shape my acrylics perfectly. The gel was solid and did not chip for the entire three weeks that I had them. However, they did not have the first three colors that I chose from their samples... HOWEVER, The last time I went, the girl that did my nails rushed through the service. The shape was ok, but the polish was awful. When it came time for the polish, I was confused that the colors were in small odd shaped bottles. Usually gel lines come in bottles with the same look. The very next day, one of the colors bubbled up, and started to peel off. The other two colors that I got started to chip, and after only a week the actual acrylic started to peel apart. I'm pretty sure the acrylic was not properly set, and that she used standard polish under a gel light. Shouldn't this be obvious to someone in the industry? She was also answering the phone the entire time; taking appointments but never once wrote down a name or time. Seems pretty shady and a total rip-off. I didn't return since I was not given a receipt and figured they would probably deny it anyway. It is very difficult to find a good nail salon because they seem to be loyal to their "regular" customers, and rush through walk-ins....when often their sign clearly states "Walk-Ins Welcome" How do they expect to gain new customers this way? read more

I have been here a number of times and every experience has been really good. My first experience here was on Valentine's Day, when I took my daughter for a mani-pedi. The price was $20 for both the mani and pedi and they sat her next to me in one of their special pink butterfly chairs for kids. We both enjoyed this particular visit and made plans to go back. I then went back with a girlfriend to treat her to a mani-pedi and it was again such a great experience and again, priced really reasonably. I received a pedi and also asked to have my fingernails reshaped. I recently put acrylics back on and had them filled at another salon which left my nails thick and un-natural. Andy was the technician that did both my pedi and my nail 'reshaping' and he did an amazing job. They are back to looking like thinner, more natural looking nails. I did not get a gel treatment but rather a buff finish and they look great. I'll be back and I'll ask specifically for Andy. read more

I was in town visiting family and decided to pop in for a quick manicure. I've had countless manicures all over the country, and this was THE WORST nail experience I've ever had. Their polishes were all old and separating and they were missing large parts of the color wheel. I picked a polish and got started with the woman right away. She filed my nails fine. Then she stuck my fingers in a ziplock bag with cuticle cream - this was the first sign something was up. Like the other reviewers noted, her instruments were all in a little container and had no sign of recent sanitation. She then proceeded to push my cuticles back - but she didn't actually do that - she swept over each nail lightly and didn't actually push the cuticles. The whole point of this manicure was cuticle care because it's been a month since I've had one. She then told me to go wash my hands, which I did. When I got back, she was working on someone else's nails and had me wait. As I waited, I saw that she did absolutely nothing to my cuticles. I started pushing them back with my own nails. When she came back to me, I nicely pointed out that my cuticles still needed to be pushed back and trimmed in areas. This was hard to do, because I usually let things slide and have taken my share of bad manicures quietly. She glared at me when I said this. Then, she did the EXACT same "non-push" technique she did the first time and only trimmed the cuticles I had already pushed back myself. She spent few seconds quickly and lightly buffing the nails, without actually looking, inspecting and seeing if she was doing a good job. She then started to polish and this is where things got tense. Her lines were totally uneven at the cuticle point, and because she hadn't pushed my cuticles back she was painting over them. I was frustrated because she already clearly ignored the cuticle issue and didn't care about what she was doing or me as a customer. I didn't say anything right away, though, because I know sometimes technicians will go through and clean up the cuticle line afterwards, although I think that leads to a bad result. I kept watching and she kept painting over the cuticles and leaving sloppy lines. Then, she got out the top coat. That's when I interjected and it became tense and so clear that this place does NOT CARE about the quality of their service or customers. I told her point blank that this wasn't good or acceptable. I pointed out that that because she hadn't pushed back my cuticles, she just painted over them and that was going to ruin the manicure, and that all of the paint lines were uneven at the cuticle point. She asked, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" I said, "Well, you could fix it." She repeated, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" I said, "Well, I mean, you could redo it and fix it." She repeated, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" I realized what she was doing - she was NOT going to fix anything and was basically challenging me on the point. Then she said, "I'll clean the lines." She got out her paint brush and product and then had the audacity to ask me to point out the what needed to be fixed. I was very frustrated and pointed out to her that she obviously did not care about the work. She proceeded to "clean" three cuticle lines, stopped, and did the top coat. She did all this while there were still two nails that she hadn't painted properly at the tip - one wasn't painted in the corner, and the other was all bubbly. She was upset when I pointed these things out. At the end, she grabbed my purse - and the money I had left her for a tip - and threw both of them at the drying machine. It was insane. I grabbed my purse and walked out. HORRIBLE. I have a manicure with uneven paint (the top layer of paint doesn't cover the bottom layer, so there are layer lines), un-buffed nails (my nail ridges come through the paint job), and wobbly paint lines that are covering my cuticles. read more
