Skyline installed roller shades in my condo in River North. Here are the highlights: 1) I was limited by a requirement that the outer face of the fabric had to be white. Skyline had plenty of options that met this requirement, and Chrissy helped me choose a color that coordinates amazingly with the rest of my place. 2) The price was cheaper than a couple of my other estimates, despite that the Hunter Douglas product was superior to what others carried. Also, Chrissy understood the product and installation better than any of the other 3 people from whom I got estimates. 3) Ken arrived exactly on time for the installation, which went flawlessly. My wife and I were in the hunt for new Hunter Douglas shades for our kitchen, family room, and one of our bedrooms. I had originally scheduled four quotes from four different companies on the same day. I did an extensive search for the best window treatment companies in the Chicago area. I ended up choosing this company as the customer service was great, reviews were all very good, and Julie is the one who helped us and was very nice. The quote they gave was lower than another top company on yelp plus much cheaper than bigger brands like eddie z's and the shade store. They also use all hunter douglas products. The installation guys were very good and everything fits perfectly. Julie came to our place once for the initial quote and then she came again to choose colors to see what matched which was very useful. They also have a store on the North side that was pretty cool. We got the motorized silhoette shades for our main room and is working great. Only thing I wish they included was the smart base so that we could connect the blinds to Alexa or Google home, right now we have to just use the remote control but it is working well for us still. read more

My old blinds were looking like a trailer that had been hit by a tornado and Skyline came to measure and mKe suggestions. I was quoted on the spot and decided to go with new magnetic valences rather that replace the entire set of blinds. The process was lengthy due to measuring and viewing options but worth it. I wanted to replace my old vertical blinds with solar shades and something offering close to blackout for the bedrooms. I also needed privacy since my neighbors balcony is directly outside my bedroom window. In total there would be 8 shades, six of which would be motorized. My main goal would be to prevent the glare and heat from the evening sun, which was preventing me from being able to watch tv. I also wanted to be able to preserve my view. Since I'd recently become disabled, I also needed a motorized option to more easily open and close the shades. Claire responded to my initial inquiry and arranged for Jennefier to come to my house. I had 3 companies come in and give estimates. But when Jennefier came, it was a very different process. She explained everything, every detail. I learned so much about shades on this visit. Not only did she provide me with all the options available for each room, she asked many more questions than the other companies. She asked questions that I would have liked to provide input. It was very clear from our visit that every detail was addressed, no matter how minute. She spent well over an hour with me - more than twice as long as the others. I received 3 different estimates from the different companies and Skyline was the second lowest, but it was a very small difference from the lowest. Plus with Skyline, I got honeycomb shades in the bedrooms. We had some back and forth finalizing the details. Jennefier was very responsive and helpful. A few days later I received an email from Michael and he walked me through the installation process and asked which days would work the best once the shades came in. And the shades came in a lot quicker than I expected! It was less than a month from the initial measurements and quotes to getting them installed. Installation day came and Ken arrived promptly at the time I had arranged with Skyline. He walked me through everything initially and as he had questions about each window and setup. Michael had recommended I be home for the installation and I was glad I was. I learned a lot about the shades along the way - including when they were installed. The very first thing Ken did was scope out the areas where the windows were and he laid down coverings on the floor. They removed and disposed of my prior window treatments. It was hard not wanting to keep looking as each shade was installed and watching him setup the motorization. Ken was there for several hours, was very pleasant and informative throughout, and by the time he left, I had a smart app installed on my machine with various settings for each room's motorized windows. He showed me how to setup automated schedules and linking to another app for many more capabilities. He even setup each room in the app color coded to the walls in the room and applied favorites which we had discussed. When he left, it was hard not playing with the shades. It's now nearly 2 weeks later and I'm still in love with them. I love that I can stare at my view anytime of the day. I love the ability to have time controlled openings and closings. From start to finish, I felt very active in all the phases of this project. Jennefier is extremely knowledgeable, professional, takes care of every detail and was just very friendly to work with. Ken also stayed as long as needed to ensure everything was perfect. He left the place pristine - there was no evidence any work had been done at all. He was very thorough describing the operation and setup of the motorized and non motorized shades. He was very professional and it was clear he was going to stay until I was completely clear on how to operate the shades and make any changes. It's two weeks later and I've only made minor changes to the scheduled times. I'm still absolutely in love with them. I highly recommend Skyline and especially Jennefier, Michael, and Ken. This is a late review, but I have to write something as they did such an incredible job! I had new blinds installed in July from skyline. When I was first getting quotes I had a large chain tell me Hunter Douglas couldn't make the custom blinds I was hoping for. When Skyline came by, they actually suggested the ideal blinds I had been thinking about...and they were possible for Hunter Douglas to make! Plus the quote they gave me was significantly better than the quote from the large chain! Great communication about installation and Jennifier even came by to check on the installation. The installation went perfectly and now my only regret is not going for these blinds 2 years ago! This is probably the best contracting experience I have been through and that's an understatement. After initially having a couple of Blinds & Shade companies quote me prices I wasn't comfortable with. I had one company come out and quote me a price just based off a rep who came out and measured my windows without a consultation or assistance on what I wanted. I decided to try one more company, Skyljne Window Covering, because of their impressive Yelp reviews. I am so glad I did. They responded right away on Yelp and told me they could do my shutters and automated skylight blinds which is what I really needed. Appt set up was easy and Chrissy (consultant and owner) who showed up the day of the appt was beyond amazing. Her years in this field definitely came through. I have a ton of windows and I was about 80% sure of what I wanted but Chrissy helped me give me the customized feel I wanted that was just perfect for my home. She helped me decide on everything down to the colors, level of opaqueness, and which side the pull cord would be on. She took her time with us and was able to fine tune all our decisions. By the time the pricing came I was completely comfortable in paying whatever. I had a lot of window work that needed to be done so I knew the quote would be pricey, but the quote was definitely competitive and definitely less than what other companies quoted for less work. 2 weeks later, contractors came in and installed all my blinds and shutters in one day. They were professional, detailed and at the end explained how everything worked, how to maintain, and how their guarantee of satisfaction on everything installed worked. We needed new window treatments, and we solicited quotes from several vendors. We went with Skyline - Chrissy was very straightforward and pleasant (no aggressive sales tactics), she had good ideas for our windows, she offered us only Hunter Douglas (a few other vendors tried slipping some off-brand treatments into our quote without reducing their prices), and the pricing was competitive (I have come to accept that window treatments are just crazy expensive, though one vendor offered almost the same thing as Skyline but at about 150% of the price!). The ordering process was very straightforward. Scheduling the installation with Michael was very easy, and he was on time when he came to our house for the actual installation. He was extremely nice and seemed very, very concerned about doing a good job. Chrissy came over while Michael was here to see how things were going - it was nice to see that she still cared after closing the deal. There were a few minor problems with the initial installation (a bent panel and a few small missing pieces that Hunter Douglas didn't ship). Michael and Chrissy were extremely apologetic (I wasn't mad), and Michael came back later and got everything in order. We're really happy with our new window treatments, and we will definitely call Skyline Window Coverings if we decide to update the other windows in our home. read more

The shades arrived faster than expected. When we found it difficult to raise and lower one of the panels, they sent a technician to fix it. When they were unable to fully resolve the issue, they got their whole team involved and came up with a solution for us. Our job wasn't even a big one but they made sure we were completely happy before calling the job done. Let me start by saying that I had three different companies come over and give us an estimate (all of which had stellar Yelp reviews) and Skyline BY FAR was the most professional, least pushy and most knowledge (with competitive pricing). Jason and Chrissy came over for an initial consultation, I *thought* I had made up my mind on either plantation shutters or wood blinds. As they listened to the overall look I wanted, they suggested something completely different (that I did not even realize existed) which managed to give me every aspect of what I wanted. They even pulled out their iPads and showed me pictures of similar installations they have done with this type of blind. That was so over the top helpful in my decision making. They even e-mailed me the pictures so I could show my husband who was at work. Once we placed the order, they continued to follow-up with status updates / installation appointment scheduling and reminders. The install took no time at all, they used their own team rather than the sometimes outsourced contractors. Jason was even there to ensure everything went smoothly. Post install we have e-mailed about two small concerns and they were over at our place SO quickly in order to make the adjustments. The team did a fantastic job on my new 2400 square foot townhouse. 1. They (yes they, not one person) showed up for the consult so that measurements, installation issues, and design could be discussed. This is important, as we identified some of the nuances of my window frames (angles, not perfectly square) up front. This allowed Skyline to come up with an installation plan & ensure that I could have in frame plantation shutters & shades that would flow together and look amazing!! 2. The installation was flawless (from my standpoint), done in less time than expected. Other companies told me in-frame shutters wouldn't work, Skyline made it work.
