Completely delicious food!!! Although we go to pay and the waitress tells us she can't get tips off of a card..i wish there was a sign on the door otherwise we wouldn't of went as we didn't have cash. Not that the waitress acted like she wanted to serve us anyways. I did say that I felt bad for not having cash and she proceeded to tell me..."ahh well" in an attitude as she was walking off. It gets +5 stars for being at an airport with a view of both runways. Other than that it's a nostalgic style diner, biscuits and gravy, patty melts, liver and onions type place. The food is consistent and edible but nothing to write home about. The service is usually professional and quick. They lose a star for their prices which don't seem to match the food they are serving, if they were more in line with diner prices then their location alone would garner 5 stars. read more

Had their chicken fried steak. It was too oily. And there was little meat and a lot of batter that it was dipped in. Too much heavy of a breakfast. I would go back (if I had to) for the ambience. Or maybe I would go there only to have coffee. Not breakfast. read more

Went here for breakfast last Saturday around 10am. This is a diner style joint with a mostly senior citizen customer base. The decor is ol school airplane memorabilia and the dining room looks off to a airplane runway where you see and pray that the frail planes land safely. I had your basic grand slam meal: 2 fried eggs, hash browns, 4 strips of bacon, english muffin, and coffee. The quality and portion was satisfying. I must say the hashbrowns did taste better than average. They were not as greasy as you would find at a Denny's or a McDs, which I really like. The waitress was really on top of her game making sure my coffee was never below halfway. For the price, you won't find a better place breakfast in the Spokane area. Be sure not to arrive too late as I believe they stop serving breakfast at 10:30. read more

After going there since a teen, today was our last visit. We won't be back. We've always gone for breakfast and generally been satisfied. Today the service was cold and the food was disgusting. The hubbs and I ordered a burger and when it came it looked like a soy burger and felt like one too. We couldn't finish it, it was so gross. We each also opted for the $2.50 extra for salad and it wasn't even 1 cups worth. We won't be going back b/c we both are wondering what other places they are "making cuts" to make a bigger profit. Wanted to have breakfast here so our one year old would have fun things to look at. Instead, we were treated rudely and ended up leaving to eat somewhere else. The sign says "seat yourself". After finally finding a table that would accommodate a high chair and then being ignored for 10 minutes, we were very rudely approached by a waitress and told that this area was "for the waitress". We think she meant we had to move a chair, but weren't sure. If you have rules for how you want people to sit, have a hostess. If not, provide guidance with kindness. Oh, and if you have time to scold us, you have time to bring a menu and a carafe of coffee to our table. We found somewhere else to eat where they would treat us kindly. It's ok to be busy, and it's ok for us to wait, but it's not ok to be blatantly rude. read more

As a breakfast location, this place is pretty damn good. Met family there for pre-Annual Xmas Tree Hunting breakfast and had a hard time deciding what to order as there were so many choices that had me drooling. I ended up with the corned beef hash, swiss, and onion omelet and was rewarded for my wise selection. Although it was of the 3-egg variety, the focus was on the delicious c-b hash, nicely sautéed onions, and melted swiss. So yummy. And the has browns were not bad at all. Also had a bite of daughter's sausage/cheese omelet and that was also delicious, as were the pancakes that I also had a few bites of. Some of those with us told us that they'd been a number of times for breakfast and lunch and it usually gets busy. We were early and by the time we left the place was packed to the walls. Check out some of the cool pictures on the walls and in the hallway leading to the restrooms. Truly a great little place and I will certainly make an effort to get back there soon. read more

We had lunch there with some friends. The service was friendly on a Sunday around 2 pm. Having just returned from a flight with our grandson, our cousin the pilot suggested this place, and nothing could have been better in terms of ambiance post flight. The food was not spectacular, although my wife had a reuben that was exceptional. Still the memorabilia on the walls was well worth checking out. The building they are in is next to the runway in a 1932 art deco style building. It is a diner, nothing fancy, but we really enjoyed it. I had to laugh as we asked for Dijon mustard, and nope, they didn't have that, "or that Grey Poupon stuff". We grabbed a great souvenir t-shirt for $15, and a couple hats for $20 each, we enjoyed it that much. I left a big tip, and left with a big smile, for enjoying a piece of history like this was completely unexpected. read more

The skyway cafe is SO GOOD. Their chicken fried is seriously legendary. Today we went & their was a 10 minute wait, but it went super quick. Our waitress was super sweet as usual & our food came out pretty quick and was huge as always. We ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy, half order of the chicken fried steak and french toast. It was all delicious! Even the half orders are still fairly big especially the chicken fried steak. The full order comes out on its own full plate and it's HUGE. Definitely a heart attack on a plate, but so worth it! If you're looking for a traditional style diner then come to the skyway cafe! The food is awesome & so is the environment! read more

They have a good breakfast. It is worth trying out just to see the very interesting art deco style of the old building at Felts Field which is the municipal airport of Spokane. I have tried a few of their omelets and they are good. The hash browns are mediocre. It is worth driving places like Denny's and Shari's to eat here. read more

Been going here for 40 years. The food has gone from fairly good to absolutely disgusting. Breakfast Sept 7, 2020 was the worst yet. Dry, burned hash browns, cremated toast, precooked bacon was as dry and salty as dog jerky. Two eggs were fine, bacon was miserable and left it. Hash browns as miserable. No gravy. $13.00. $3.00 COFFEE. BITTER. .25 Cents mystery charge, I believe for two jelly's...Worst meal I've had in years. Ok, so this is your typical diner....but it is at a small, local airport. The crowd that hangs there are local (retired) pilots. It is a great place for kids and adults to watch airplanes and helicopters take off/land. The food is diner food. So don't be shocked if it is fast, greasy, and relatively inexpensive. I hate to rate this high because others will find out how great this cafe really is. We went there with a party of 10 and they were very accommodating. The server was fun and friendly. The food came out hot and plentiful. The chicken fired steak filled a large plate (not sure if anyone finished it without taking it home). Even though the cafe is relatively small they have used the space well and it seemed easy to hold conversations even though the space is limited. (I get coffee can be hit and miss) Cheese with veggie scramble appeared to be processed. Sausage was most certainly brown-n-serve.
