Mary and I stopped in for the first time today; this place has a worn but comfortable feel. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated. I ordered the Spaghetti and Eggs; Spaghetti noodles sauteed in a light olives oil sauce, with sun-dried tomatoes garlic and red chili flakes. Topped with shaved Parmesan and goat cheese, 2 eggs over easy, sourdough bread, and duck sausage. Delicious!!! Mary ordered the Country Benedict; House made biscuits, sausage, eggs, house made country gravy, potatoes. Delicious!!! These are big orders, we had breakfast and are leaving with enough leftovers for dinner!

Another great find! Where the locals come for an excellent and hearty breakfast. The corned beef hash was more meat than potatoes. Eggs cooked perfectly. Everything fresh and perfectly prepared by friendly and welcoming employees. Highly recommend

First off it was packed so I was hopeful! First time here &&& probably won't be back, Was wanting to dip my toast into eggs so I ordered eggs over medium & as you see in the picture there is no yoke lol. Potatoes are a little under cooked for my taste buts that's just a preference, if they had any flavor what's so ever they would be edible. Bacon waaaay under cooked for my comfort. I did see some yummy choices on other tables, so I may give it another try, but there's so many other diners with good reviews, we'll see. All the workers were very nice!!

I tried spaghetti and eggs and duck sausage for the first time in my life. It was delicious!!! My wife tried the special of the day. I'm glad I don't live close to this restaurant. I would gain a solid 10lbs a month. The food is amazing and the portions are generous. Highly recommend going Service was phenomenal and speedy Quaint and friendly atmosphere

Delicious pork chop fried steak with sourdough bread, egg and potatoes

The food were very well prepared We ordered the sausage and gravy with a patty The monte cristo sandwich was very unexpected, its stuffed with ham and cheese and the bread were dipped in egg mixture and fried, must try item , served with waffle sweet potatoes. It has a dipping raspberry sauce and bacon . Very scrumptious. Then pork steak fried was delicious too. The portions were big too Melissa our server was very attentive, and efficient Very family friendly ambiance Overall a great experience

Delicious food. Cooked to order. Generous servings. I had breakfast, husband had the Monte Cristo. Both excellent. Clean. Wait staff friendly. Do I recommend, yes. Will I be back, yes!

Always a treat to visit the Garnet. You just gotta love the green eggs and ham! What? 85 characters? My vocabulary is too limited.

Is it open? Google says yes but a review says no?

Actually, Google has them temp-closed. They had a fire (no one hurt), and they are having difficulty getting it back open. Check their social media pages for any new info...

May I bring my dog, who would stay under the table?

No. However, they are a physical service dog friendly restaurant.

Cheerfully greeted and {as I was with a "walker" because of my recent hip replacement surgery} she suggested if I wanted a lower table it would be toward the back. She gave me a menu then momentarily disappeared to get me a room temperature water (delightful) and then we discussed the menu. I then ordered with her suggestions and waited. Not too very long thereafter, my lunch arrived - a lovely surprising portion, colorful, well presented and exactly as I was hoping for. The parmesan halibut addition to my seasonal salad (which BTW is not current on their website but my variation was DELISH) was tasteful and moist. The kale based salad was dressed in a cranberry vinaigrette, but I'd asked for a side of Bleu Cheese as well (my weakness, especially if it's a delightful house made version as this was). I only ate half & took the rest home, as it was large enough for two meals - and @ a price point which was reasonable for this day & age! Thank you to my very caring & hospitable server - she made my lunchtime meal more than I could have expected!!! Go try them, Now!

Anyway my plate arrive arrived covered in butter and cheese. Who puts cheese on fries without saying so? So I obviously could not eat any of it. I didn't bother to have them remake it and paid for an un-edible meal but asked her what could I have done differently she said tell us about your allergies and I was like, well I did. I told you I don't eat butter and the cornbread still arrived with the biggest slab of butter I've ever seen. Like wtf? Disappointing. But I will say the pickled vegetables were amazing! 10/10

The inside decor is dark with low lighting giving it a cozy , romantic , upscale feel. Unique decor and decorated cool. The first thing you see when you walk in is a glass floor that you can walk on and can see a table of people Dining in the basement. It's pretty cool. Our server was extremely attentive. Every time he walked by he would check our drinks or ask us if we needed anything... top notch ! The food - it's on the pricier side but worth the experience. We started off with the baked Brie and the blue cheese wedge. The baked Brie was unique. The Brie was wrapped in a house made phyllo dough and covered in caramel sauce. Accompanied by Some fruit and bread. Unique and well executed. The wedge was wonderful. Very tasty house made blue cheese dressing and bacon (I think adding some tomato or onion would have broken up the saltiness) but was still great tasting We ordered the sweet pork chop. I was impressed how moist and tender they cooked the pork.. I have to admit that it was too sweet. Even for me, who has a crazy sweet tooth. It was a unique pairing, but left no room for savory. We also ordered the seafood fettuccini. I believe they house make their pasta and Alfredo sauce. It didn't come with a ton of seafood (a couple large prawns and a few bacon wrapped scallops) but hit the spot. Their house bread they serve with your meal is the highlight! A little loaf of breast drenched in a garlic butter sauce! I'm salivating just thinking about it! I' have to admit, I have high expectations, and this place is probably the better of the many other local eateries I've tried . A little spendy- 2 people , no drinks with tip $130 ish Ambiance - 5 Food- 5 Service -5

That being said, service was very good. That's the high point. The WINGS were a disappointment. They were akin to Costco's precooked wings, but these were all about presentation versus good taste. Try not petrifying the meat would be a good start. I had one of the hamburger plates. I really liked the fries. These were well prepared. The hamburger on the other hand was lacking any uniqueness or even quality beef. So if you are one of those people that believes a hamburger should be a culinary experience, this is not the dish you want to get here. Okay, I hate to be the negative Nelly, but the worst part of the upscale experience was the crescendo of noise. It crept up on you as the lunch crowd moved in. It was seriously hard to communicate at your own table. The decor offers little to no sound mitigation. Seriously, consider acoustic tiles. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Prices were fair, given our current economic conditions.
