What a cozy spot! I almost always get Eggs Benedict for brunch and they served a delicious one! Very generous portion and the hollandaise was lovely. Eggs were cooked to perfection. The cafe is right next to the Spokane airport. We got great views of planes coming and going. The decor inside is also very well done and filled with lots of pictures, planes and other decor. Probably the worst meal I've ever had here. We really wanted to enjoy a multi-generational family meal. It took 10 minutes for our waitress to come to the table after we sat (seat yourself on a Sunday morning was odd!) We had a party of 7. 6 meals came out, mine was missing with no explanation. The family waited about 5 minutes hoping mine would come out, before they ate, to no avail. Family was done with what they could eat when mine finally arrived. With zero apologies from the waitress. This is definitely a Spokane must go spot! So much here to love that it's hard to boil it down to a short review. Suffice it to say that in all our experiences here, we've never been disappointed. Coffee is always fresh and staff is super friendly. Sticky buns and biscuits are house made. Sticky buns are hard to get right, often they're too sweet, too chewy, too dry, or otherwise deficient. The sticky buns here are as close to perfect as they get. Biscuits are fabulous, too. Not your traditional buttermilk biscuits more like a cornbread texture, truly unique especially when served with their house made strawberry jam! Yum. Spinach bacon omelette and meat lovers scramble were the entrees. Both were more food than we could handle in one sitting. Great flavor combinations and reasonably priced, too! read more

Great food! Awesome, personal service. My boys and I go there on weekends for our Sunday breakfast with dad. Miss this place. My kids cannot contain their excitement when we go! Chicken Fried Steak... I have to always get a To-Go box!!! And get there early if you want their famous cinnamon rolls... They run out by 10am-ish. This place is really cute and is located right on the runway. However, as it relates to the food, it is just average and the prices are a little steep. The waitress was nice, but our water glasses stayed empty eventhough the lobby wasn't busy. I thought it was a little odd this place is filled with military images and planes, but they do not offer a military discount. read more

For our tastes this is a 5 star place. We have been coming here for decades, and it would be more if we lived closer. It's so neat right on the Felts Fld airstrip. They hire the best servers! Always friendly and very helpful, you never feel like you aren't important to them. Personally, I love the option for a half order, and even the half is way enough for a normal appetite. LOVE THIS PLACE! When you step through the door you're transported back to the '60s. If you're and airplane nut it is the spot for you. You can enjoy a HUGE cinnamon roll (and it tastes great too) while you watch the planes at Felts Field arrive and depart. Servings are big and flavors are good too. The staff is super friendly. Be aware it does get busy but have a little patience and it'll be rewarded. We've been going for years and take visiting friends there. Too cool!! read more

8/1/2020. Chili review. Sadly, this will be a very easy review to write. The one positive was that it was definitely house made. Beyond that, there was no flavor what...so...ever. None. The beans; the beef; the broth; the fillers; heck, even the onions and cheese on top were completely indiscernible. Fer crap sake, I splashed a ton of available Cholula hot sauce into it, and even the heat was lost in a vacuum of nothing. And no, I have not lost my sense of taste due to the progressive's favorite virus. The only thing I can think of is that this place caters (mostly) to super-super seniors, and they have magically concocted a recipe for the blandest chili in our hemisphere. Heck, I was expecting it to be from a FSA/Sysco can, and even that would have been better than the bowl of library paste I just experienced. What a totally unexpected wow... Huge menu... one for breakfast, one for lunch. They were slammed with just two servers trying to take care of a full house. They said they were short staffed but they did great anyway. They did have a busser so that helped. Two cooks in the kitchen were cranking the food out fast. Since we hadn't been here before we ordered pretty conservatively- cheese omelet with crispy hash browns and a biscuit for my husband and a cup of chili for me. The cook obviously read the request on the ticket because the hash browns *were* crispy! Yum! The chili is house made and mild but good. Topped with a sprinkle of shredded cheese and some chopped onions. I added Cholula hot sauce and a bit of sour cream so it was very tasty. I have so many amazing memories with my grandfather here. there are many amazing things about the history and design of the restaurant itself, so many wonderful models of planes on the wall and ceiling each with a unique story. You will be treated as if you have been a regular guest even if it is your first time going, the servers are more than kind. I flew into Felts Field for work and ate here for breakfast! It has super cool airplane themed ambiance. I am a bit of an airplane nerd so I really enjoyed it. In addition, to watching all the fun general aviation aircraft takeoff and land. (don't worry I wasn't judging their landings..) I normally promptly takeoff my epaulets when I go into a restaurant to avoid the stares, but everyone here was nice since it was located at the airport. I ordered the California Benedict with hashbrowns and a coffee that never went empty. Just as soon as I would get about half way through my cup they would refill it :-) The hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict was excellent and full of flavor. The service staff was friendly and did a great job despite the business of the restaurant. I would recommend checking this place out! read more

If you are an airplane junkie, this is the spot for you! Lots of cool models inside the restaurant and a very good view of an active runway. The fact that you can still see the old airport building and what air travel was like in the mid 20th century is an added benefit. I had the chicken fried steak. Being a Texan, we hang people who don't have real chicken fried steak. If you understand this, then you understand why I just couldn't give more than 3 stars for a factory processed item. What they serve is a fried meat patty, not chicken fried steak. Perhaps, some disappointment was the breakfast menu was still out and it was about ten minutes to high noon? I got the corn beef hash omelette and pancakes. Hash browns could've been cooked longer due to they were missing that crispy bite and they had no flavor so I added salt and pepper and they still had no taste so I resulted to adding ketchup to them and for the omelette it was alright nothing to get super excited about it could've used more flavor for it wasn't to my liking. The corn beef hash in and on the omelette was pretty okay not the greatest and in my opinion there were way to many onions in it almost as if they were making up for lack of flavor with onions and I was not a fan. The restaurant and aesthetics were cool I liked the planes hanging from the ceiling and the tables and the fact you can see planes coming in and out from the windows. The staff was friendly but we did wait a while for our food to get to the table but that was probably because it was fairly busy. A lot of people outside this "community" don't know the secret that almost all pilots know. That is, that at almost all smaller community airports, not where the big planes land, but where private pilots train, play, and travel the FBO buildings almost always have kick ass little restaurants attached. The Anyway Cafe is such the place and I must admit more comfortable and appealing to the general public than many others are. Now this is NOT the "in" place to be or to be seen at BUT this place and many others like it is where you can get really good home style meals, larger than normal portions and at reasonable prices. These pilots, they grow em big. If your in the area of Spokane Valley you really need to stretch yourself and give this place a try. After all what do you really have to lose? I used to frequent this place but I think this was the last straw. My two kids and I used to come here every week and alway got the same quality food and service. This time we managed to find the dead zone where each server thought the other servers had us covered. I've been in this business for a while and I get it. I calmly walked up to the owner and mentioned we had been overlooked and would like to order. The FIRST thing the OWNER does is come up to two hungry kids who were being good and just happened to be entertaining themselves with little creamers and snatched them away saying "We don't play with the food!!". Came here on a recommendation from a local. A bit dubious about a cafe at the airport, but figured we would try it out. We were not disappointed. DH had the chicken fried steak, it was Huge! He has decided on getting the half order next time. Eggs cooked the way he likes, jam is homemade and wonderful. Biscuits were good. Prices are really good! And the decor is just great for airplane junkies! Plus you can watch small planes leave and land! Did I mention the prices are pretty good? I have three boys who eat like seven, so we have to watch the dollar signs. I was amazed at the variety on the menu and how many full on breakfasts were $8 or under. I had a non menu special. Spinach and feta omlette with Hollandaise. Holy cow was it great. One of my sons had biscuits and gravy, and the gravy was amazing! Not too salty like a lot of places do, and great flavor. Coffee, just wonderful. I like my froo froo mochas and all that, but some days you just need a basic cup o' joe that stands on its own. And this does nicely. The tables have aerial navigation charts printed on them, which I think was just a great touch. This place is just a little off the beaten track, but SO worth the extra couple minutes to locate. Being right next to an airfield makes for fun viewing while you eat. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and made Sunday family breakfast really nice. Hashbrowns were plentiful but had a very odd flavor. I tried drowning them in ketchup but still no good. I would have thought this type of cafe would have had their own hand made sausage patties. Nope. Pre-frozen standard yuk patties. Wife had French Toast and bacon. She was told bacon was not thick. Incorrect, it was thick. She indicated the French Toast was different. Our meal were perfect. The restaurant was packed and the servers were all working their tails off. I saw one waitress take the time to make sure the hot chocolate for three little ones was not too hot for them. It was very sweet to see that level of caring.
