So much for a great motorcycle shop on Winchester! Slabsides has gone to the way side... We took our two Harleys into Matthew, one of the owners, with high hopes! Matthew seemed like a nice guy and made huge promises to us. We always brought our bikes to Bruce, the old owner, and have been loyal clients for a long time. So, Bruce would have sold to a good, upstanding guy, right? Boy, did we learn differently! These guys don't care about your baby or your business..their words...not mine! Not only did they take in our bikes with the commitment to get them high-barred in a week but when that week came and went without any contact from them and I called see how things were going, I got nothing but bad attitude. I was told by Matthew, "we haven't touched 'em, and we don't know when we will get to it. And...if you don't like that answer, you can come and get your bikes". When I asked why the commitment time changed, and why he seemed not to care about our business, I was told by Matthew "he just hadn't gotten to our bikes yet and he really didn't give a shit". NICE! What he told me was if I didn't like his "whenever he can get to it timeframe" I can come and get my "f'ing" bike." I was ASTOUNDED! So...we did just that! When we picked up the bikes, they were shoved behind a pile of bikes, making it harder to access them. We reminded Matthew that the reason he committed to a week is due to the fact that my husband has Stage 4 cancer and time is of the essence for him to get a last ride or two in with our boy. My husband said, "you made a commitment, didn't meet it and are basically taking time away from a dying man. Time I can't get back. You aren't even going to apologize to me?" Matthew promptly said, "Why would I apologize to you for your issues? They''re not mine. Look how much work I have here! I don't need your business". Again, we were shocked! This guy clearly thinks that it's ok to disrespect his customers, his customers wives, and has no problem making it clear that he doesn't think of your motorcycle as your "baby", to him its just a hunk of metal in his shop. My hope is that people read this and realize that Matthew doesn't care about your business and teaches this kid that treating your customers with that lack of respect is something that will affect your income. read more

I used to come here when Bruce was in Charge I got good reasonably priced service on repairs etc. Today I went there needing a rotor removed from my rear wheel Off an Ultra Limited that I ride. that I brought in Apparently they have super powers beyond my scope because I broke off 3 professional grade star bits trying to get one of 5 bolts out even heated the bolts with a torch. He had them out in less than 2 minutes and said it was on the house. I knowing that nothing is free in life, so I bought him lunch in appreciation for what he did for me, Thank you Roger!! Slabside is the most customer focused motorcycle shop I have ever experienced. When I first came in, I was greeted with a Welcome from Margret (Executive Administrator) and Bruce (The Owner). I asked him several questions about adding accessories, service, and other items related to my bike, a 2007 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. I wanted to have an UltraCool oil cooler installed. Bruce and Kevin (their Master Technician/Mechanic) told me they didn't know much about them but encouraged me to research it further and they would install it for me. I did purchase one, Kevin did an expert job of installing it (Bruce really liked the cooler and is now a dealer for it), and also did a 20,000 mile service. Now I know when I am being pressured to buy something...not here. I had some suspension, lighting and other issues. Kevin and Bruce gave me great, honest advice, which I followed. I now have a superior ride, no lighting issues...heck, I even have new grips that are fantastic. All you have to do is drop by sometime and you will see many expensive (I mean really expensive custom jobs) lined up for Bruce and Kevin to work on. Every other day when I visit, I see different bikes.....it is like a daily bike show (I actually stop by to see the bikes). I've been to slabsides a couple times. I want to wheelie an beat on an 88 fxr I bought. Rodger is very knowledgeable an helpful, you can ask him questions and he's happy to answer them. He told me all the parts id beed to install a splined drive tranny in my bike and explained everytbing thoroughly .I bought a pair of bung king bars, an arlen mess airfilter. Bought a new to me bike and was looking for a shop to turn the bike into MY bike. I came in to a comfortable atmosphere and was able to sit down with the owner of the shop and go over every detail of the bike that I wanted to change. We went from top to bottom and had a complete build planned out from performance parts to powder coat, after finalizing what we wanted he went over pricing and labor. It was not the first bike I had built but definitely the easiest with such great knowledge and selection of parts on hard to show me what I was getting. It was really nice to see he was using the parts on his personal bike and he was not trying to sell me on the most expensive parts as most other shops have done in the past and more so he was selling me what he has been using and knows holds up. I left my bike with him telling him I needed it back by (X) day. I got a phone call 2 days before the day I was needing my bike for over a 2000+ mile trip. I was extremely excited it gave me extra time to get a feel for the bike and get ready for my trip. I'm writing this review as I'm just getting back from my trip and I couldn't be happier with the feel and reliability of my bike. We had multiple bikes with us and as most Harley owners know bolts comes loose and stuff happens (part of riding a Harley). I was expecting something as most of the bikes we were with had one issue or another and my bike performed flawlessly. I just called and scheduled my next service with Slabsides.
