I have been to Slackwater locations in Sandy and Salt Lake multiple times. The food satisfies even my pickiest friends. Their pizzas, calzones and wings are all fantastic! The food is fresh and flavorful and the service is always good. The ambiance is generally fun and friendly and casual. My only complaint is about the weekend performances in Sandy - they are super loud sometime and I can't hear anything anyone says at the table. But the food and excellent service and nice atmosphere typically make for a great meal with friends and family. read more

Had a large team dinner at Slackwater, and the staff was ULTRA ACCOMODATING to our large group. Everything they said and did was to make our group dining experience better. Tyler and Kenzie killed it. They were efficient, enjoyable to work with, and all around amazing servers to our large group. This was a refreshing new restaurant, we have been a few times now and really enjoyed the portion size and the variety on the menu. The ambience is great sometimes you will find live music and the pizza is really tasty. You can find a cup of soup for under five dollars and reasonably priced salads. Five friends and I went to Slackwater a few weeks ago. We each ordered a pizza or pasta, and we all tried each of them. There was actually a problem with mine, but the manager came out immediately and took care of it personally, so A+ for Customer service! The restaurant was packed so if you go on a weekend or prime time in the evening, make a reservation or get there early. Unanimously, the southern chicken redo pizza was the least favorite. It was a waste of money since it did not get eaten. Also unanimously, the surprising favorite was the chicken bro-do pizza. It is everything you love in a great chicken Alfredo in pizza form. Got a couple pizzas and some cheese bread on our way home from capitol reef national park. We got them to go so I can't say much about the restaurant but the pizza was superb! We got the southern comfort which was my personal favorite. So delicious and a great combo of sweet and savory. We also got (I believe it was called) the green goddess? Also great! Maybe it's just because I was starving when we ate here, but EVERYTHING about the pizza tasted delicious to me. The sauce, the toppings, the crust....Mmm! The crust is soft and has a honey taste to it. My husband and I each got a pizza and shared both. We ended up eating all but 2 slices (but like I said, we were super hungry!). We got the California sunrise and the Cardiac. Both were excellent and both were pizzas I would get again! It's such a vibe-y, fun, and hip atmosphere. The night we went there was live music. The only bummer is that we brought our 1 year old when he was hangry and cranky and were hoping they could bring out a piece of bread or fruit or something right away to tide him over, but everything they had took time to make. This is not a place to come if you want quiet, but it is a great place to grab beer and pizza and wings. The service is surprising so efficient given how busy it often is. The last time I was there it was a random Wednesday. Come after a day of skiing or hiking or work...whatever. Just a good place to grab a bite and a beer. read more

I've been wanting to try Slackwater for awhile, and a group of us finally made it for an early dinner! They have an extensive beer menu between draft options and cans and a nice variety of ciders as well. I've been trying ciders lately and had to check out the chocolate raspberry from mountain west they had on tap. It was very good! Not too sweet and you definitely got the right notes. Others at the table were happy with their beer selections. For entrees, we all ordered different kinds of pizza and they were ALL good! I went with the hot honey dp and I was really happy with it. Met some friends here the other night for dinner and it did not disappoint. We ordered the you'll be stuffed sticks for an appetizer and it was delicious! I would highly recommend this! The blend of cheeses and the marinara sauce was just amazing. The food here is really yummy! I also got the spinach salad with the herb vinegarette dressing. I had no problems eating the entire thing in one sitting. Everything about it was so good. I literally went and bought spinach the next day to have more salads at home! Slackwater pizza is one of the best I've had! It is bursting with flavor with every bite, and each pizza is individual sized. The crust is perfectly flavored and cooked. Also, if you love ranch dressing, Slackwater's ranch will be your favorite. I even dipped my Tiki Masala pizza in the ranch, which sounds like it wouldn't work well but it was delectable. The service was good even though it was super busy. The bartenders were fun and knowledgeable. The sever was competent and fast. I would recommend joining the waitlist before you get there, so your wait is shorter. The ambiance is fun and lounge-like. We joined the waitlist on Yelp. Checked in a few minutes early upon arrival and were seated fairly quickly after that. Our party had four guests. One elderly diner took some time to check out they're extensive menu and decide on a final order. Bethany was patient and kept checking back to see if we were ready yet. It gets quite busy at the Sandy location. We arrived around 5:45 PM. It didn't slow down while we dined either. When we had finished dinner and we were leaving, there was quite a few parties waiting off to the side for seating. The busier it got the more our service declined. I noticed that our server was running outside to serve as well. Which made no sense to me as we were seated across the dining area, on the farthest middle booth tables from the particular outside patio she was also serving. Why would an establishment overextend their server's like that? Our food took time to make. On the verge of too long of a wait. One of our pizzas was made incorrectly, but they offered to let her dine on the incorrect pizza while they corrected their mistake and remade her pizza. She agreed. They have a whole page on the menu dedicated to their pizza's. They also offer sandwiches, soup, salad, and appetizers. I wasn't feeling 100% so I opted for soup and salad. They only offer one soup on the menu. It's a yellow curry cream soup. With vegetables and chicken. It was comforting. Light curry flavor throughout the creamy soup base. Tender chicken and vegetables. Just what I needed. Unfortunately the Caesar salad I did not enjoy. It looked visually delicious, but the dressing was bland. I suppose I could have asked for more dressing, but it was adequately dressed. Another side of Caesar dressing and it would have been too drenched in bland dressing. I'd give this place another try since I didn't get to try their pizza or other menu items. Preferably earlier to see if it's not as busy. read more

Adding another review because Slackwater is just the best! Went here again a few nights ago and it is still amazing as always. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. We started with the spin- art dip and it was so good! Hadn't had it in awhile, but the chips that come with it are so flavorful and the dip is delicious and cheesy! My mom and I both ventured out and tried something new this time. I got the tree hugger sandwich and she got the Whiskey Southern Comfort pizza . The sandwich was very good (as someone who loves veggies.) The sauce was amazing and who doesn't love sourdough bread. It came with a nice salad as well. Lots of veggies in my meal, which I loved! My mom loved her pizza. She is from the South, so this was perfect for her. Our server, Zach, let us know it has actual whiskey in the bbq sauce, hence the name. The service was great. Is this my fav restaurant in SLC? I think so. The pizza here is literally some of the best I've ever had. You traditionalists can get out because I know, it's not any sort of traditional pizza, but that's what makes it great. I'm a sucker for their special every month because it's always just so perfect for the season we're in. Add a side of whatever their special soup is and you've got my perfect meal. My hubs had French toast from their brunch and said it was really yummy, too. He just wished they added more berries to it.
