Ended up with the pizza and it was fantastic artisan style with perfect charred crust on the edges and toppings were planning the server was extremely nice. It took good care of me. Always a staple. Its food is consistent, the ambiance is fun casual bar / restaurant vibes. The last time we came they fit our party in after yelp mess up on the waitlist. They were amazing. The service is always again consistent. I really appreciate consistency at a local restaurant. You can go with the kids or date night and you will get what you pay for. We always enjoy coming to Slackwater. Tonight we had a live band playing and they sounded great. The ambience was cool. We sat on the patio on a pleasant night. Allergy warning though- tons of cottonwood fluff blowing around, so avoid if an issue for you. Our server was terrific. Friendly, helpful and attentive. I ordered the cardiac arrest in calzone. It was good, but the pizza version is better. All the pizzas here are fantastic. The ranch was good but a bit runny. My wife tried the Santa Fe salad. The dressing was great, but the spinach was overkill. My daughter got the Ogden river club sandwich and she liked it. There's no reservation system, but a virtual waitlist through Yelp! Late night stop off after a birthday celebration, it's one of the few places open late in Draper. Had the salad which is big enough to share and pizza. We shared the artichoke dip which was not my favorite, but decent. Service was good, despite this place is always busy. They often have live music. I'd recommend a reservation as they are usually full, which makes the place noisy. Pizza runs around $15 for personal size, so it's in the pricier side. Good for families or adults. read more

If you living in Sandy, this place is a must and a go to. It has wide variety of choices both in food and beers. They run monthly specials every month. June was the month of strawberries. We ordered strawberry cocktails which was really good. If you are a beer person, they have so many varieties. We ordered Diablo sticks. If you are a fan of spicy food, this is the perfect choice. It's cheesy and the spicy sauce goes so well with it. We also had 'from the earth' pizza which was a bit bland. The ambiance of this place is so good. It has an outdoor seating, which is my favourite, with lots of trees and it's just so pleasant. It has good music and great vibe. Service is very attentive and really sweet. We went to Slackwater on a busy Saturday night during the holiday rush and had a great experience! We ordered the spinach, artichoke dip and the tri-tip pork nachos and they were both delicious. The pizza was good but very different than what you're likely used to and that primarily because the crust had a sweet taste to it. At first the sweet taste was a bit interesting and enjoyable but as we ate the pizza it became overwhelming. Also our waiter was cool but he definitely high and a little forgetful, we had to remind him 2 separate occasions for different things. Slackwater might be one of the only good sit-down restaurants in Sandy - there, I said it. Great pizzas, an interesting menu, fun ambiance and great service...it's popular for a reason!! We've tried a bunch of the pizzas but the Margherita was my favorite. Simple and they do it right. Also the Iron Horse, which is their version of traditional combo ingredients (pepperoni, sausage, peppers, etc). You can order any pizza as a calzone as well. I've heard they have excellent gluten-free crusts. The Cobb salad is good, my family member loved the spinach salad with candied pecans and gorgonzola. In the summer their patio is open and it's quiet, well-attended to, and sometimes you get visits from the nearby ducks that live in the creek. Parking is easy because it shares a lot with the mall next door. This is a great place for beer. Huge selection of bottled and on tap, sours, everything. Haven't been thrilled with the cocktails, so go with beer. There are some great drink specials and they offer by the pitcher too. The only reason we don't eat here more often is the wait for a table on weekends can be over an hour if you just show up. So join the waitlist or come early - I always forget to call ahead or join the waitlist and then kick myself when there's a huge line. I do love coming here for lunch too, though! read more

If you don't arrive at the exact same time you can't get on a list and end up waiting an hour for a table. I really like Slackwater and let me preface this by saying I know and understand people are busy and it's hard to get folks on waitlists based on who/what time you're wanting to be on. I just called when I was told to call at 10:50 am because someone who I spoke to there let me know to call at this time as the host would be there. I sadly was already getting told they couldn't put me on a waitlist because of the time and then was told that even when I called at 11 (open time), they couldn't put my on a waitlist. We took a work group here on a Wednesday early evening and there was still a fairly lengthy wait! The pizza is good with great crust and good flavors and a fairly wide variety non-traditional options with quirky names. 90% of the menu is pizza so that's their thing as is the giant book of a drink menu! Visited this place on a short visit to Salt Lake. Glad I chose this place as the only dinner spot I had time for! Went in at around 8pm, no wait since we were a party of 2. Server was very nice and attentive. We ordered the Tastes Like Burning pizza, which had a very smoked and slightly spicy flavor. The crust was doughy and crispy with a great chewiness to it. We also ordered the Pua'u Luau with pepperoni. I loved this pizza, had a great savory and slightly sweet flavor that kept a light and balanced flavor profile. To go with this, I ordered Ska, which has a slight fruitiness to it that paired really well. Great selection of draft beer, wish they had a flight so I could try more! I don't know. The is place was alright. The servers not great. The food was pretty good. The room itself is very welcoming and well appointed. Aesthetically it's a real gem sitting in the middle of nowhere which makes it feel kinda special. Food and service are generally paramount to me but here both were only kinda lacking, yet I enjoyed myself. I'll surely do it again. It's always ashamed to me when something feels like it's going to be great and then is only ok. But I'll take ok . Every experience can't be golden, but I think they are on to something good here.
