This is not a place to come if you want quiet, but it is a great place to grab beer and pizza and wings. The service is surprising so efficient given how busy it often is. Met some friends here the other night for dinner and it did not disappoint. We ordered the you'll be stuffed sticks for an appetizer and it was delicious! I would highly recommend this! The blend of cheeses and the marinara sauce was just amazing. The food here is really yummy! I also got the spinach salad with the herb vinegarette dressing. I had no problems eating the entire thing in one sitting. Everything about it was so good. I literally went and bought spinach the next day to have more salads at home! We always enjoy coming to Slackwater. Tonight we had a live band playing and they sounded great. The ambience was cool. We sat on the patio on a pleasant night. Allergy warning though- tons of cottonwood fluff blowing around, so avoid if an issue for you. Our server was terrific. Friendly, helpful and attentive. I ordered the cardiac arrest in calzone. It was good, but the pizza version is better. All the pizzas here are fantastic. The ranch was good but a bit runny. My wife tried the Santa Fe salad. The dressing was great, but the spinach was overkill. My daughter got the Ogden river club sandwich and she liked it. There's no reservation system, but a virtual waitlist through Yelp! It was tough to time, but fortunately they check you in when you arrive and the wait time wasn't long. read more

Adding another review because Slackwater is just the best! Went here again a few nights ago and it is still amazing as always. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. We started with the spin- art dip and it was so good! Hadn't had it in awhile, but the chips that come with it are so flavorful and the dip is delicious and cheesy! My mom and I both ventured out and tried something new this time. I got the tree hugger sandwich and she got the Whiskey Southern Comfort pizza . The sandwich was very good (as someone who loves veggies.) The sauce was amazing and who doesn't love sourdough bread. It came with a nice salad as well. Lots of veggies in my meal, which I loved! My mom loved her pizza. She is from the South, so this was perfect for her. Our server, Zach, let us know it has actual whiskey in the bbq sauce, hence the name. The service was great. If you living in Sandy, this place is a must and a go to. It has wide variety of choices both in food and beers. They run monthly specials every month. June was the month of strawberries. We ordered strawberry cocktails which was really good. If you are a beer person, they have so many varieties. We ordered Diablo sticks. If you are a fan of spicy food, this is the perfect choice. It's cheesy and the spicy sauce goes so well with it. We also had 'from the earth' pizza which was a bit bland. The ambiance of this place is so good. It has an outdoor seating, which is my favourite, with lots of trees and it's just so pleasant. It has good music and great vibe. Service is very attentive and really sweet. P.S the only reason for 4 stars is because of the pizza which was little bland to my taste. Otherwise this place is perfect and I would definitely come back again. read more

Is this my fav restaurant in SLC? I think so. The pizza here is literally some of the best I've ever had. You traditionalists can get out because I know, it's not any sort of traditional pizza, but that's what makes it great. I'm a sucker for their special every month because it's always just so perfect for the season we're in. Add a side of whatever their special soup is and you've got my perfect meal. This place is seriously so YUM! This was our second time coming and the food just hits. I had their grape gorgeous pizza and what a treat! It's so good y'all! My hubs had French toast from their brunch and said it was really yummy, too. He just wished they added more berries to it. The customer service was spot on and they were accommodating by giving us a larger table so I could keep our sleeping baby in his car seat. We will def be back and look forward to it! read more

The pizza was good but very different than what you're likely used to and that primarily because the crust had a sweet taste to it. At first the sweet taste was a bit interesting and enjoyable but as we ate the pizza it became overwhelming. Also our waiter was cool but he definitely high and a little forgetful, we had to remind him 2 separate occasions for different things. Slackwater might be one of the only good sit-down restaurants in Sandy - there, I said it. Great pizzas, an interesting menu, fun ambiance and great service...it's popular for a reason!! We've tried a bunch of the pizzas but the Margherita was my favorite. Simple and they do it right. Also the Iron Horse, which is their version of traditional combo ingredients (pepperoni, sausage, peppers, etc). You can order any pizza as a calzone as well. I've heard they have excellent gluten-free crusts. The Cobb salad is good, my family member loved the spinach salad with candied pecans and gorgonzola. In the summer their patio is open and it's quiet, well-attended to, and sometimes you get visits from the nearby ducks that live in the creek. Parking is easy because it shares a lot with the mall next door. This is a great place for beer. Huge selection of bottled and on tap, sours, everything. Haven't been thrilled with the cocktails, so go with beer. There are some great drink specials and they offer by the pitcher too. The only reason we don't eat here more often is the wait for a table on weekends can be over an hour if you just show up. So join the waitlist or come early - I always forget to call ahead or join the waitlist and then kick myself when there's a huge line. I do love coming here for lunch too, though! read more

We took a work group here on a Wednesday early evening and there was still a fairly lengthy wait! The pizza is good with great crust and good flavors and a fairly wide variety non-traditional options with quirky names. 90% of the menu is pizza so that's their thing as is the giant book of a drink menu!
