YES! Eat. Here. This location has a lively atmosphere and is usually busy - for good reason. They've got a huge beer list full of local brews on tap, in the can, and in the bottle. Basically BEER HEAVEN. Bring your friends. This time we got the Char-tipped roasted pork chili verde nachos - now, I'm not a nachos person, I hate the fake cheese and usually avoid them at all costs. But Slackwater nachos are a horse of a different color - no fake cheese, instead you get big chunks of roasted pork, fresh herbs and tomatoes, three cheese, pico de gallo, and chimichurri. I took a weekend trip with my family to Salt Lake City and ended up staying in South Jordan. I heard a lot of great things about this place specifically through Yelp and I really wanted to give it a try so I made reservations through Yelp, it was incredibly convenient. With that being said, we had the reservation for 7:30 and we got seated almost immediately on the dot. They are well known for their pizzas so you know we had to get that. I ended up getting the tikka masala pizza and it was absolutely delicious. The Greek pizza had a very unique taste to it and I really enjoyed the cucumbers and the yogurt sauce. The crust was also delicious and you can really taste the butter around the crust which was nice. It is generally busy, so if you do plan on coming out here, I do highly recommend making reservations through Yelp. The service was nothing special, but our waitress was nice. The duration of our eating experience we got checked in by our waitress about three times which personally I wish we had a little bit more attention. I do recommend this place for great pizza so if you're around, definitely do check it out. read more

The pizza is just not for me for the following reasons: The crust is pretty flavorless except for an odd sweetness. I like slightly salty crust. It was crispy, which I like, but to the point of cracker dryness. There wasn't much tomato sauce on my pizza, I love fresh, salty tomato sauce. The Margherita pizza had small sliced tomato's on it, not a fan of this style. The bbq chicken pizza was inedible for me because of the flavor of the bbq. Slackwater in Sandy, UT My husband picked this place for his birthday dinner. It was my first time and let me just say, it was delicious. We ordered the You'll Be Stuffed sticks as an appetizer. The melted cheese blend with the marinara sauce was perfection. I don't know what is in that marinara sauce but I want the recipe. One of the best marinara sauces I've ever had. I ordered the Tikka Masala pizza because I heard great things about it. It didn't disappoint. I think about it also everyday and definitely need to have it again soon. The color threw us off, as it was green- but it was delicious. I ordered the southern comfort pizza and it was good, but it did have a lot of flavors going on. The bbq sauce was pretty overpowering for my tastes. My husband got the Italian job, and that was a much better tasting pizza to me. No reservations, but you can get on a wait list. When I lived further north, I often visited their Ogden location, and was sad to have it so far away after I moved. When they put this location in, I was stoked! But somehow it took me quite a long time before I managed to find an opportunity to eat here. Definitely every bit as good as their Ogden location. This place was on our list to try for a while as my wife had heard good things about it and she knows that I love pizza. Even though it was dinner time, we were seated quickly. There was no consistent uniform for the staff, and the only way you could tell was by observing for a while which people were walking around constantly. I ordered the Cardiac Arrest pizza and my wife got the Italian Job. Other than the pepperoncini, my wife liked her pizza. My pizza was fairly thin in toppings and light in flavor for something called the Cardiac Arrest. Any frozen four meat pizza from a grocery store would have given you more meat/protein, sauce, and cheese. And ordering delivery would be even better. The only advantage Slackwater's pizza might have is their thin crust. But a restaurant should be offering pizza that is better than frozen and delivery options. The place was noisy and after some time, what I guess would be the AC, started dripping condensation right next to our table. Our waitress had to be flagged down to get us a box to go, and then again because she didn't bring the check as well when bringing the box. April has some very good seasonal specialties at Slackwater that go well with their traditional fare -- Indian-inspired dishes were tasty for tasting on my visit. I was lucky to get an outside patio table on a gorgeous Easter Sunday. I had no wait at all. I started with the spicy vindaloo chicken wings, which were nearly a dozen but kind of small. They were topped with corn nibbles, a few garbanzos and covered in delicious vindaloo, a reddish spicy sauce that leaves a tingle but does not burn. It was a great way to get the taste buds fired up early on. Accompanying that was a bowl of mulligatawny, an Indian soup with a mellow but rich flavor that works well with the vindaloo. I would hope the restaurant one day offers mulligatawny with vindaloo spices in it for a slightly spicy version. I got the bowl and it was enough for two people. It came out hot and soon after we ordered it. My daughter and I shared a pizza for the entree. We chose the 6-slice grape/Gorgonzola/bacon/three cheese pizza with a balsamic reduction -- absolutely delicious! The size is smaller than you would get at a cheap delivery chain but the flavor and ingredients are much better. The crust is thing on the bottom and puffy on the edges due to the dough but it is not a thick crust pizza (thank goodness). A nice touch is serving the pizza in a plastic dish that is not hot to the touch and has raised bottoms to enable the pizza to not stick and to be adequately cooled. To drink I had the Kickin' It With Slackwater sangria, which had citrus and mango in a blush wine. Very light and refreshing! Slackwater delivered fresh and tantalizing varieties of dishes that paired with their drink offerings well. The service was prompt and pleasant, the order accurate and quick. Cool decor and a beer menu that reads more like an exhaustive listing of the Worldwide Beer Encyclopedia. This is a great place to hang out, socialize and if you're lucky, get a table outside to enjoy the breeze and trees. read more
