Join the waitlist here in yelp. We did that a Friday afternoon and quoted a like 25 min. Arrived well before that and were sat right away. We were only a two top and agreed to be sat anywhere ( porch, inside or bar. We didn't care) Huge beer menu. Gluten free beer on the menus. Wine Menu small but good enough. Pizza. The best part ever. Extreme wait times and rude staff, every single time. The herriman location has staff that is super nice but they can't help the wait times. The app will not allow you to make reservations for more than 8 people. At the Sandy location they would rather not have your business if they're busy and you have a group of more than 8 people because it's inconvenient and it's more work. This place was on our list to try for a while as my wife had heard good things about it and she knows that I love pizza. Even though it was dinner time, we were seated quickly. There was no consistent uniform for the staff, and the only way you could tell was by observing for a while which people were walking around constantly. I ordered the Cardiac Arrest pizza and my wife got the Italian Job. Other than the pepperoncini, my wife liked her pizza. My pizza was fairly thin in toppings and light in flavor for something called the Cardiac Arrest. Any frozen four meat pizza from a grocery store would have given you more meat/protein, sauce, and cheese. And ordering delivery would be even better. The only advantage Slackwater's pizza might have is their thin crust. But a restaurant should be offering pizza that is better than frozen and delivery options. The place was noisy and after some time, what I guess would be the AC, started dripping condensation right next to our table. Our waitress had to be flagged down to get us a box to go, and then again because she didn't bring the check as well when bringing the box. Suggesting a minimum tip of 20% was quite bold, but we paid in cash and left fairly disappointed. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant. Artichoke spinach dip was plenty for our group of six, but could use a few more chips. My husband and I shared the Buffalo chicken sandwich, which was amazing with the salad, and The Hulk that was best pizza we have ever had. Our server was ontop of everything, checking in with us the perfect number of times, and our drinks were always full. Can't wait for our next performance at Hale Theatre that is only four minutes from Slackwater. read more

We visited on NYE, which was a busy night. Knowingly, we joined the Yelp waitlist ahead of time, so we didn't have to wait too long at the restaurant, which worked well for our plans. We sat at the bar and ordered our food and drinks. Our bartenders were lovely. Our problem came mainly with our pizza, the main dish we ordered, and the restaurant's specialty. It was wholly burnt on the back and was entirely black. Given that it was such a busy night, and it had taken around 20min+ for our pizza to come, we didn't want to create a fuss and send it back, so we picked around the toppings and ate what we could. However, the point is that the pizza should never have been sent out in this condition in the first place; there should be some QC before serving it to customers. We also ordered the Santa Fe salad; the spinach was crisp, and the pico de gallo tomato and black beans were nice. read more

I absolutely love Slackwater. Never had anything bad here. Staff is always so kind and wonderful, but they also don't do that annoying thing where they hover and bother you. They just seem to sense when you'll need them. The menu offers a great variety of basics and more fun options, so there's something for everyone. Also, that drinks menu is impressive. Personal favorite is the grape and gorg pizza. Ordered it for a friend who told me after he's not a fan of any of those flavors usually, but could have eaten a hundred of those pizzas. read more

They have unique choices, but what does it matter when the pizza is not good? The service is quick and efficient. The ambiance is loud. The tikki malasa pizza especially was great, the do it yourself standard pizza with pepperoni, cheese, sauce was pretty mid but not a big deal when their special pizzas are fire. Would much rather spend our money where we aren't treated like sh@t! How snobby of your hostess. She was SO STUCK UP!! Too bad so sad you'll never be getting our business again. The pizza is just not for me for the following reasons: The crust is pretty flavorless except for an odd sweetness. I like slightly salty crust. It was crispy, which I like, but to the point of cracker dryness. There wasn't much tomato sauce on my pizza, I love fresh, salty tomato sauce. The Margherita pizza had small sliced tomato's on it, not a fan of this style. The bbq chicken pizza was inedible for me because of the flavor of the bbq. I enjoyed my salad with the creamy Italian dressing, it seemed a little unique and was large for a side house salad. The restaurant is very loud, but I liked the vibe. We were told our wait would be 15 minutes. After 35 minutes, we noticed two parties who checked in after us being seated because they complained. We decided to give it a try and even though the queue said we were third on the list, we were seated. He put us in the sun so we asked if we could have the empty table in the shade. He said it wasn't wiped off. Without wiping it off, they immediately sat another couple. That couple ended up being served 5 minutes sooner than us. This second Slackwater (OG in Ogden) is almost always bumpin'. That makes the outdoor areas more fun (and needed). Great service and solid food to go with fun beers. Knowledgeable servers can help with beer selections, but I tend to stick with Saisons and IPAs. A lot of great regional and national selections, really solid pizza, and an original wing recipe that remains unaffected by the chicken shortage. Might be the best wings in the SLC areas.
