I always love checking out local establishments that have stood the test of time, around for nearly 100 years! Service was wonderful, they are very hard-working here and clearly care about what they do. We really enjoyed the Croatian platter as well as their famous potato nuggets and sides. The three bean salad was absolutely delicious as worth of baked beans and their sauces. Prices are fair and portions generous, they also take great care and packaging the items to go if you do not want to dine in. I love that. They are open early if you are looking for a hearty lunch before noon. Great option in the area if you're looking for something unique, affordable, and delicious!

The service and location were great, and I really appreciated the overall atmosphere. This was my first visit after hearing so much praise about the food, so I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, the dishes lacked flavor, and a few pieces of the chicken were not fully cooked. While I had a positive experience with the service, I personally wouldn't return for the food due to the concern of being served undercooked chicken, which can be a health risk.

Yummy yummy in my tummy. Worth the trip to San Pedro! When you have home made fried chicken at the house..... and you still come to Slavko's!!! Don't forget the Karlovacko!

Friendly service. I was excited to see the cevapcici dinner on the windows and missed the full Croatian plate at the counter. Everything was delicious and super filling. My partner and I could've split one plate but we wanted to try everything. Dining room was adorable and food took a second because they made it fresh. Nuggets are always ready to go it looks like. We'll be back to try the full Croatian plate, lamb shanks and maybe a fresh spiny lobster?

Absolutely love this place for the owner, then the food! Back in the late 90's and early 2000, I had a boat docked near Pedro. I've always passed this place, wish I'd gone in earlier! As soon as I entered, I looked a bit confused and the owner immediately gave me a sample of their potato and chicken nugget. I was already hooked, not by the food, but by this sweet older gentleman. I had already glanced at the menu on Yelp and knew I wanted the gizzards and liver. Since he had already given me the famous potato and chicken nuggets, I asked what else he had. He offered the cevapcici and explained that it was a sausage with ground beef, lamb and other meats, which I didn't catch. I was already going to order this because it had lamb. He also said I can get 1/2 n 1/2 of the order of gizzard and liver if I did the pint size. When I got my food, he said if I liked the cevapcici, then come back for the Croatian plate. I took my food to the nearby beach and tasted the food! So much sausage and potatoes! The ayver sauce is like a red bell pepper base. The onions on the sausage were sweet. Yum! Eat the liver and gizzards hot! I added a honey mustard sauce for 35 cents more. But I did take the leftovers home and bake it in the toaster oven. The inside is minimal. The pricing is cheaper than others. I'll be back for more food and the older gentleman's hospitality! Since I now go fishing and hiking around there!

I got the chicken nuggets and also got potato nuggets. Really really tasty. The service was great and the staff was friendly. Very affordable as well. Tip: if you pay cash you get 4% off. Out of 10 I give this spot a 8.8. A must try in San Pedro.

I called ahead to make sure they were open and headed over. First visit so Jim provided us some samples and we left with a pile of potato and chicken nuggets, jalapeño poppers, and bbq ribs. I wanted to stop for some beer but guess what? Slavko's sells beer so we got a six-pack of Estrella. Needed ketchup too, and he sold us a bottle! It's a one stop shop!!! We enjoyed all the goodies!

We just got ours tonight and it was bad. Dry chicken and it was all bones. We paid $40 for unflavored food.

Some of the best fried chicken in town. Made fresh and reasonably priced. Definitely a place to visit when in San Pedro.

She was right, 2 taco plates for $25. Three generous size tacos and chips. I had the baja fish and he had the shrimp tacos. We had great service from Alex and were excited to dine there again as this is 5 minutes from our house. We went back a week or so later on a Thursday night, we were seated promptly and then we waited for over 20 minutes to be acknowledged, offered water or to place our order. Instead we watched the server clean tables (there were plenty available), chit chat with staff at the bar and be in the kitchen for quite a period of time. No "I'll be right with you - nothing". We were ready to get up and leave and he finally came by to see what we wanted to drink. We decided to place our order because who knows when he would be back. I had the BBQ Chicken Salad which was delicious, he had a burger which was meh. The broiche bun was dry and was unbalanced (the top was thick and the bottom barely there) which made it fall apart when you ate it. I'm not sure that we are willing to give it another try with so many other great choices nearby. We tried......

I typically do not review chain restaurants and I will use a metaphor to kind of explain the why…read morebehind the decision. In carnivals or county fairs, there is a revolving shooting gallery game where 2-dimensional ducks continuously rotate on a conveyer belt. Shooting one down means little because it will eventually re-surface, and there are so many plastics ducks that denting one does nothing against the flock. I mean, in order to really make a statement against the flock one would have to use a bazooka or missile launcher to bring a specific duck down. And even though I have had bad experiences with this Ono's link that have resulted in some tummy grumbles, I can forgive because I understand that sometimes I am an unlucky duck that receives the worst of a business day. But this review is not meant to shoot down this place, quite the contrary it is meant to celebrate this place all the ducking way! The fare is Hawaiian inspired, and typically solid. And it can be healthy (grilled chicken) or indulgent (katsu- Asian fried chicken) and even unnecessary in an extra side kind of way (musubi or cream cheese wontons/ragoons). My recommendation is to stick to a combo---- protein, steam greens, side of rice and macaroni salad. I forego the macaroni salad and add a side salad or extra rice, depending on the time of day. All of this to say that this place is a strong conceptual choice for fast food that feels clean and island-like. And now, to the specific reason as to why I Yelp for this place an employee of the joint who goes by the name of Alicia. This place is the move, often a time for me. And I have been to this place so much that Alicia knows my voice and knows my order. It is kind of great to drive, and have someone know your name. Now the Cheers theme song impacts me in a different way. Alicia is friendly, never in a rush, makes me feel like I am the only customer in the world (shout out to Riri) and is attentive to a fault. I think, due to our brief banter the line grew a little bit longer than it should have. But again, Alicia did not make me feel like it was a problem. She made me feel like we were on Island time. She is also a salt to the earth type of person, a down-to- roll, kind of girl because she posed for her moment in the light. Workers like here elevate a fast food choice to a welcomed visit.

I arrived early for lunch and was their first customer of the day, which made for a very relaxed experience. I was able to choose a comfortable booth and was helped quickly. I ordered the bibimbap and asked if they had hot barley tea. They did, and I was genuinely excited because a lot of Korean restaurants in California don't offer it. I love having hot barley tea with Korean food, so that was a big plus for me. The banchan came out in generous portions. Everything was tasty, especially the seaweed dish and the sliced fish cake, which I really enjoyed. The kimchi was on the mild side -- personally I would have liked a little more spice -- but it was still good. The bibimbap itself was flavorful, filling, and satisfying. The only thing I didn't care for was the side of rice. It just wasn't very good, which is unusual because rice is usually one of the easiest things to get right. I only took a couple bites of it, but fortunately there was plenty of other food, so it didn't really affect the meal overall. What stood out most to me was how comfortable and relaxed the restaurant felt. They have spacious seating, comfortable booths, and a nice sound system that gives the place a good atmosphere without being overwhelming. I would definitely come back if I were dining in the area again.

This place has been here for a a while, a friend claims it's changed ownership, but I'm unsure if that's a fact. Either way, you're sure to find what you need and a few things you don't but you'll pick them up anyway because, well, Italy! On this visit, I procured some deli delights: soppressata, provolone, hot Italian sausage, caprese salad with pine nuts (nice touch) and marinated olives. A few cans of tomatoes, and some chocolate wafer cookies. I considered spumoni, but I didn't have a way to keep it cold for the drive home. Note to self: plan for cold storage next time! Service was swift and friendly. An offer to help with the bags out to the car. They don't have a parking lot, so street parking is it. Wear your patience hat because when it's busy, parking is a challenging. I'd say the only thing missing is a true Italian bakery. That's the one feature that puts a dent in my wallet...well, that and canned tomatoes. Why are canned tomatoes so darn expensive?? That DOP designation seems to add extra $$$. Overall, this place is a good option for shopping Italian products, albeit a bit out of the way for me so I'll likely only stop here when I'm in town.
