My wife and I had been dealing with increasing back and shoulder pain from our old mattress, so we decided it was time to start looking for a new bed. There happens to be a Sleep Number store in our community, and my wife had always heard great things about their beds. I'll admit, I was skeptical at first. When we walked in, we were greeted by FrankO, the store manager. I was honest with him right away and told him I wasn't completely convinced about Sleep Number beds. Instead of pushing a sale, he took the time to explain how the beds work and invited my wife and me to try several models. They were all comfortable, but the one that stood out to me the most was the P5. One of the most interesting parts of the experience was when he showed us a pressure map on a screen that displayed where our bodies were putting pressure on the mattress. That's when I realized I don't actually prefer very firm beds like I thought--I'm much more comfortable somewhere in the middle. By the end of the demonstration, something surprising happened: I could actually feel my back starting to relax, and I even felt like I was standing and walking a little straighter. I didn't want to admit it at first, but I was genuinely impressed. FrankO made the entire experience comfortable and welcoming for my family. He was respectful, laid back, and never pushy. He even had toys available to keep our kids entertained while we focused on trying the beds, which we really appreciated. I went in not expecting to like the bed, but I left pleasantly surprised. Just curious if anyone else got bed bugs after their Sleep Number bed was delivered in late March early April? Any unexplained small clusters of bites appear on you. No other way we could have gotten them (we don't travel and no guests), and customer service says it's not their problem. It's a single family home, with no new or old furniture added, other than the bed. Love the bed, just not the bugs! Nice try though... read more

Returned a i8, the bed was so uncomfortable, these beds are not for everyone. My Wife and I both woke up the first morning with back aches. Kept adjusting the numbers to find the right pressure but had not luck. Back aches continued. They did accept the return but with a fee of around 300.00. read more

First and foremost the bed is amazing. Setting my sleep number was easy and I can change it in a moment if I desire more firm or soft feel. Jessica (no longer works there) was amazing and helped us with our selection which turned out to be the i8. Delivery and set up went without a hitch and we slept wonderfully the very first night. This would have gotten an easy 5 stars but to incentivize our purchase that night Jessica made some promises to seal the deal, and wrote them on the contract. We were supposed to get a set of sheets and controller in a couple of days. Unfortunately Jessica was no longer their to assure the promise was met and after months of trying to resolve this I have given up and writing my review. I suggest you do not buy and walk out of this store on a promise. The bed was worth it just sorry the service was not. read more

I think sometimes people forget that we should review the store location and not the products themselves. This Sleep Number location is kind of difficult to find if you're not familiar with the square. It's on the corner nextdoor to massage envy, across the parking lot from TJ Maxx & bed, bath, & beyond. The store itself was well lit, clean, and organized. We came here to find a new bed for my parents. My dad had already researched some different models and features on their website & just wanted to experience them before pulling the trigger on such a large purchase. (Some of these beds with bed frames are $5k+). The sleep number technology is pretty advanced and can be difficult for older people to understand and operate. The associate, Carol, was very kind & knowledgeable. She was patient, courteous, and there was no pressure to purchase anything that didn't make sense or suit my parents needs. I will update this review after my bed is configured properly so far, so good, had some issues, but they have been solved. The staff was polite ,always pay attention to any promos because sometimes they could be missed, and you will have to deal with customer service, and they are very helpful. I do love their beds , I have endured five back surgeries, and so far their beds provide me with the most relief, my first bed was a California king and lasted me 27 years with some parts during that time, staff was friendly and helpful in some ways, as I said, I will update this review after my bed is configured properly. read more

I am so happy I decided to go to the Santee Sleep Number store. I'd done my research and knew the bed I wanted but it was great having the opportunity to actually lie on the bed and experience how absolutely wonderful it felt. I got fantastic service by the friendly and helpful Brian who also gave me an awesome price. My only disappointment was how long it was going to take for the bed to be delivered. I made my concern known and Brian told me he would follow-up with the delivery team the following day. I am happy to report that in less than a week I got the delivery date I wanted (more than three weeks earlier than when I was originally scheduled). Bought beds for my parents. Staff was knowledgeable and even provided alternatives to accomplish same result than my original plan (before I set foot on the store, and based on a previous purchase). Overall customer service was good and any and all PRE-Sale questions/concerns were answered and touched on. My gripe with SleepNumber and its delivery people, is that the "Premium" delivery/setup was half-a$$ed... A little background... Beds were for my parents who live in their own apartment. They are Senior Citizens, with health issues, fragile and weak... and I'm out of town. Delivery while professional, only performed basic setup (inflate bed, and pair SleepNumber remote). They are supposed to also ask for WiFi information and finish the pairing/configuration of the SleepIQ app so the SmartBed can be brought ONLINE and take advantage of the SleepIQ system and MOST important reason a SmartBed is purchased, otherwise there is NO point in spending +/- $3,500 on 2 mattresses. They DID NOT pair the Beds to my parent's Cell Phones where I had preloaded the App, and configured it with the account information. Okay, fine... There is a DIY article that one can follow, and if Tech Savvy it'd be a 2 minute job... Issue at hand is that my parent's are weak and fragile SENIORS. Would YOU have your 80 year old mom/dad (with health and bone issues) move nightstands, bed/frames, and crawl on the floor for them to be able to TRY and read the fine print on the pump to try and find a MAC address and then match it to a number on their cell phone??? I'm 100% sure it wouldn't be your first choice... After being able to get the beds online and my parents set up, on our own... I reached to store for a heads up and to give them a chance to make it up to my parents for the Poor Delivery Service... Store blamed it on miscommunication. Okay, I clarified what I had mentioned I'd do before having to leave town (configure app with account, create profiles, and order #), SleepIQ cannot be paired to a bed until the bed is ONLINE, so it needs to be done AFTER the beds are installed. After clarification, and explaining twice with more details of what was done, and what was NOT done, I didnt hear a single peep from store, or thru my parents on how the store was going to make it up to them for the poor service. A simple gesture of "Sorry this happened, here is XYZ for your troubles." would've been enough. For them to charge $200 for Premium setup, and for what they provided, its a RIPOFF. I work with customers every day, and I would've definitely gone above and beyond to address this and any issues MY costumer would've had to ensure they are happy with the purchase, AND service. REGARDLESS if install service is from a 3rd party. That's how great customer service works, ESPECIALLY Post-Sale. If I ever buy another SleepNumber bed, or refer anyone. do not buy!!! To be fair, this is our second sleep number. We have a Queen P5 purchased in 2017, and never had an issue. The bed worked as advertised and we slept great! We made the decision to upgrade and purchased a climate 360 king in September 2023. The bed arrived broken (didn't cool on right side). We submitted repair request and 30 days later, a repair was made. However, the repair didn't resolve the issue. Now, the bed has started to wobble when one of us moves in bed, it wakes the other up and it still doesn't cool on right side. We scheduled a second repair after we found two bolts under the bed. One of which has number M6X60 embossed. I googled this number and it came up as furniture COT fastener, but the technician said he had never seen such a pin. The second repair visit resulted in the tech recommending the base be replaced. However, the replacement was cancelled and a third repair trip scheduled. The third trip replaced a button but didn't fix the issue. All but one sleep number customer service rep didn't seem to care. My sleep went from a 30-day average of 72 to a 30- day average of 11. Definitely not what we expected. I also would like to note, sleep number employees only install and replace parts. For troubleshooting beyond data recorded by the sleep number app, including diagnostics, they must use a contractor. In our case, they elected not to troubleshoot for repairs. The bed refund is not 100%. There is ~$269 x 2 for install and removal that won't be refunded, even though we returned because the bed is broken. I think it's a great concept, but their customer service stinks, their repair we either have a lemon or it's a gimmick. read more

My wife was sold a mattress for our RV that didn't work and after returning it and paying 345.00 as the 100 night free thing is BS, the finance company sent her to collections saying we still owed them like 600 bucks and regardless of the proof we send them they are still coming. We purchased a bed from them just slightly over a year ago. The sales reps are very nice and helpful. However the company and its practices are deceitful. From day one the bed hasn't worked as promised. When we finally get someone out to look at it, the tech says we need a new pump and he will be back to install it and leaves. 2 weeks go by we hear nothing and now we are a week outside the 1 year warranty, we call to get an update. We are told there was never an order placed for a new pump. Then they continue to tell us we were supposed to have ordered the parts?!?!? What??! No one mentioned this to us and in what world does the customer order parts when you are covered by the full warranty. Then they proceed to try and charge us since we are ordering the part after the warranty. After many conversations and hours on the phone they agree to cover the fees as a full warranty. The fact that it took forever to get someone to look at it and then for the customer to be responsible for ordering parts and never be told, we will never ever purchase another sleep number bed. This is a very poor practice in customer service! It really is the biggest disappointing purchase we have made and we won't be making that mistake again! Hubby and I both had a cold and our Valentine's Day trip to Vegas had to be canceled. Since we were supposed to be at the Bruno Mars concert celebrating, we decided to give ourselves a bed as a gift. So we found ourselves at this newly opened store in our neighborhood. The sales gal was WONDERFUL. So personable and extremely knowledgeable on all the Sleep Number products. What I loved the most is she listened to what we didn't like about our current bed and new which way to direct us. After our evaluation we found our numbers (I'm a 35 and hubby a 40). We then test drove the various beds and decided on the i8 queen mattress and base. The delivery office called us within a couple of days and within the week we had our mattress delivered and installed. (my understanding is that this was WAY faster than normal) The two gentlemen that delivered the bed were just as outstanding as our sales gal and everyone I've spoken to on the phone. It's been a real pleasure dealing with a company and employees that not only take pride in their job and company but they actually ENJOY it. So easy to give them my business. Now we have slept on our new bed for 5 days and I can honestly tell you I have not had such restful, pain free sleep in FOREVER. LOVE LOVE LOVE this bed, how am I supposed to go travel now without my mattress? Congratulations Sleep Number you are a great company, so glad we have joined the family. I was in your Sleep Number Store yesterday and really wanted to know more and see if a Sleep Number Bed would be better for my wife who has had 3 back surgeries. I walked in and it took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge I was even in the store. Then I was told someone would be with me shortly. Well after 15 minutes I started to wonder if anyone would come talk to me. I started to notice I was the only minority in the store. I thought maybe I was just letting my mind get away because I had been there for 25 minutes and not one of the 4 or 5 employees had given me a look. Then as I was about to ask how much longer it would be, an older white couple walked in and they were greeted and helped immediately and even offered a bottle of water! For the first time in my life I felt discriminated against. I have been in the U.S Navy for 20 years and take pride in volunteering to deploy to ensure my kids, your kids and kids around world have a bright future. A future where freedom of speech is honored and race or religion are not a means of biased and prejudice actions. I felt like I had wasted 20 years. One action has made me question what I am doing. During 20 years of my service, 7 deployments, 3 back surgeries, I wanted to do something nice for my wife. A Navy Wife who is the epitome of service with honor. Day in and day out she is there for my kids (4 of them) and myself. One bed, to help her sleep better and I am ignored and not given the respect I would hope to have earned. I purchased a $1500 bed from this company. The warranty was 20 years. My bed is still under warranty. My remote to control the air flow died. I called to get a replacement and they said "sorry we no longer make that style and you will have to purchase a new remote and also a new pump because it has been replaced too. Today we went to sleep number to potentially purchase a new sleep number. We were the very first people to walk in the store at 10:55am, they open at 11:00am on Sunday's. Two other couples walked in after us. The sales person sat us on a bed, handed us a remote, and immediately started working with the third couple who came in after us. I had a list of questions and I wanted to get answered but instead we were virtually ignored. The sales associate gave all of her time to the third couple who came in who wanted to buy a twin bed. The second couple who came in just after us was being helped by another sales person and were doing a comprehensive sleep test. It was hooked up to a computer and she was helping them find the right settings. My wife and I just sat on a bed trying to figure out what we were doing and were getting frustrated. Being the first people in the store, we should of been the first priority. Instead we were treated like we were unimportant to Sleep Number. We are taking our business elsewhere. read more

We bought our first sleep number about 12 years ago and it's time for a replacement (my back and neck are finicky). I visited this store and was helped by Steve. He spent the time to educate me about the new models and after a few questions we quickly narrowed the options to 3. About 30 minutes later I was checking out and on my way. I needed a new mattress and had done ample research and decided upon a Sleep Number bed. I drove to the store in Santee (which quite a distance from where I live) and that was a HUGE mistake. I found the salesman to be rude and condescending. As he spoke, I realized he didn't know what he was talking about so I directed him to the Sleep Number website. He said "Oh I never use the website!" OBVIOUSLY because he was quoting me a price that was MUCH higher than the one on the website. I finally began directing him on the website and he saw the price, and mumbled something about the reason for not using the website. We started to purchase the bed and he started on extras that I wasn't even asking for. I ended up walking out. Updating my previous review. I just received a 6 Month Report from Sleep Number. This only confirms what I said previously about the phony system they offer and making sense of the "Numbers" they throw around. Each and every period my experience as a Sleep Number and Time Sleeping I am below the National Average. Not surprising as I can not find a setting that gives me satisfactory sleep and the Phony daily readings are of NO HELP finding it! In my view the Sleep Number system is a rip off that forces you to think you have found the best sleep solution. Don't waste your money. read more

The people who work at this location are terribly rude and unhelpful. After speaking to customer service on the phone (who told me to go into a Sleep Number store to have my remote replaced), I went to the Santee location. Upon arriving, I mentioned that my remote control's display was no longer working and customer service sent me their way. The man there immediately said, "You have to call customer service to get a replacement remote." I explained that I had already been on the phone with customer service and they told me to come into the store. After going back and forth a bit, the man at the counter offered me a loaner remote (which didn't work once I got home). He should have noticed that it looked a little different than the one I brought in - and he should have known that the remotes are specific to the bed types (and asked me a few more questions). I expressed some frustration with the fact that what customer service said on the phone and what the man was telling me in the store were two different things. I didn't get much of a response there. The man just shrugged his shoulders. Considering how much Sleep Number beds are worth, I expected much better service than what I got. It's supposed to be "gourmet" brand, I thought. I'll certainly never go back to the Santee location again (except to return the faulty remote)... not to mention that, when I finally got back on the phone with a knowledgeable customer service rep (since the original rep didn't know what they were talking about with regards to how to get a new remote), I had to fork over $118 for a replacement (for a bed that's at least 10 years old!) Worst customer service we bought two bed on November 14,2015 and were told in 3 weeks they would deliver. They call us to schedule on the 1/05/16 but only had the king size bed, I explained to the lady I wasn't taking two days off for them to deliver. She rescheduled for 01/15/16 the day comes and they call us and say that they only have the full size bed, my wife asks where is the king size and they say they don't have the parts to build it. Excuse me you had it built and ready to deliver 10 days ago, so you gave our bed away in other words no answer just an apology that it wasn't in stock. I call back and tell them if you can't deliver both then keep them and give us our money, it's been over 2 months and you can't deliver two beds. read more

I was in this store about 4 weeks Ago and personally didn't like the mattresses at all. I also thought they were WAY over priced. For a king size adjustable mattress and base it is an astounding $10,000. So clearly we decided on another mattress weeks ago. But today I received a call from a woman who address herself as the store manager I believe she said her name was tori but I could be mistaken. She was just calling to check up and see if I would be coming back in for the sale and I told her that we actually had purchased a different mattress but thank you so much for checking back with me anyways and she proceeded to say "okay well when your new mattress gives out on you go ahead and give me a call." The way she said it was in such a condescending rude bitchy way. I thought it was so unbelievably unprofessional. I literally was taken back. I just hung the phone up. I had actually previously planned on having my dad who is having back surgery next week go in to see if he liked the mattresses (I didn't but maybe he would have) but now after how rude she was no way. My husband and I are in dire need of a mattress, He suggested a Sleep Number bed, and after doing some research we decided that this was the bed for us! however we wanted to try them in person of course, and so we arrived super excited and met with a sales representative named Mckayla who started off right away with qualifying questions, and no small talk, I appreciated that as we had decided to do the purchase today and not waste any time, but as she introduced us to the bed and tried to explaining the air technology used she would not let me or my husband ask a questions and would speak over us, she came off very aggressive and maybe even angry, She should not be helping customers as she does not have the proper customer service training just yet. My husband and I felt uncomfortable and belittled so we went to the UTC location where we found it to be incredibly welcoming and pleasant. We ordered a Sleep Number bed with a base about a year ago, through a sales associate from this location. Our bed arrived on time, setup was smooth. The delivery people made sure we were clear on the operation of the bed before leaving. We have since ordered additional bedding and pillows. All items were delivered on time. We are always kept up to date with current sales by our sales associate. All transactions have been handled promptly and without any issues. We have never slept so well and consider this purchase an investment in our health and have recommended the Sleep Number bed to several friends and family members. read more

Boy did sleep number find our number!! Bought the $2,500 bed 7 yrs ago, thought we would love it becuz of the adjustments,plus it had a 20 yr warranty! We were surprised when we put it together since it is basically air mattresses with foam around them, reminded us of camping. Then when your adjusting your side if your on the higher end of the bed you feel like your on a slope, my # was 35 my hubby #45 or higher,plus it's hard in the middle from the foam piece separating the air mattresses.What the big BUMMER was, now one side of the mattress went flat! When we took the bed apart to find the problem we noticed one air mattress was WET, and had been getting wet for awhile! Then we noticed the tubes going to that WET air mattress had several white SPORES all through it! That made us worry, so when we called the store the first sales person told us (after describing what we had) we probably had mold and needed a whole new bed,so to call customer service on Mon.Well was i surprised when i called customer service and they told me the WET spot was BODY VAPOR and completely normal and the SPORES were talcum powder!! Has anyone ever heard of BODY VAPOR?!! I went around and around with customer service even to the management level with NO SATISFACTION! Customer service with this company is horrible,they are all like robots saying the same thing but not really answering your questions or solving the problem! They acted like they were doing us a favor by sending us a new pump, meanwhile we have no bed to sleep in! Along with our $10,000 bed, we decided to splurge and buy the Lyocell sheet set to go with it, along with pillows and the mattress pad. After a while (9 months) the bottom sheet started to shred at the bottom down in the feet area. I am 50 years, old, so I have used many sheets and I have never had a sheet shred like this. I figured that I would chat with a representative through their website about the problem. Before I did that, I looked at the reviews on their own site regarding the sheets, and there are dozens of complaints about the same problem. When I chatted with the representative, I was told that there is nothing they can do, as there is no warranty, and in the future they would recommend cotton sheets instead. That is not what they recommended when I bought them from THIS store! I have recommended many of my friends to Sleep Number, because I do love the beds, but this lack of customer service is ridiculous. A company should stand behind their products, and fix the problem. Sheets that don't even last a year are a major problem, especially for the price you pay. This is a huge black eye, on an otherwise good company. read more
