The sales person at that time, Thomas, sold it by saying if anything at all happens it would get replaced. What he DID NOT SHARE was that the warranty is supplied by a 3rd party. My remote broke and I requested a replacement. It was only then that I found out that Mattress Firm NEVER sent my warranty information to the 3rd party (Extend). So I essentially had no coverage. I am now forced to wait 14 working days or more for Extend to get me into their system. Extend basically said they have other bigger issues and mine was not a priority. Or I can pay $99 out of pocket in addition to the $350 I already payed for the warranty. It took many phone calls to discovered that this "warranty shell game" means that Mattress Firm absolves itself from any responsibility after your extended warranty purchase. That is direct from the mouth of Derrick, the Skokie Blvd. manager. He said sorry, just wait, he could do nothing even though Mattress Firm made the egregious error of not sending in my warranty information. That is not a good answer from the company who made the error. So please save yourself a lot of time and do not shop at Mattress Firm. They are not honest.

On Monday, the very next day, I decided to cancel after finding a better option. I made multiple attempts to cancel beforehand -- I called the store, was redirected to customer service, spoke to Bill, who told me he was off today and was told I had to speak to my salesperson, who I couldn't reach as well. Since I couldn't get help over the phone, I drove to the Norridge store in person (closer to me). At that point, I was told it was "too late" because the chairs were already on a delivery truck -- nearly 48 hours before the scheduled delivery. I was also told I would be charged a $100 delivery fee for items I never received. Customer service representative named Nate (no last name given) was completely unhelpful and inflexible, repeating policy without any effort to resolve the situation or acknowledge the circumstances. Was very dismissive and didn't acknowledge the situation at all. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my bank to initiate a dispute -- the manager in training (forgot his name) in the Norridge store was finally able to cancel the order without the fee. This proves the situation could have been handled properly from the start. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my financing provider to initiate a dispute -- an assistant manager in the store was able to fully cancel the order without penalty. This review would have been one star, but I'm giving an extra star solely because of that effort, even though they still agreed with the policy itself.
