We bought our bed about four years ago and had a wonderful and enlightening experience with Leroy. My wife has a lot of health issues, and not getting a good night's sleep wasn't helping matters. At the recommendation of a doctor, we looked into a quality mattress, and Sleep Number was high recommened in her online support group. We went to Vacaville and met with Leroy, and he walked us through the whole experience of what Sleep Number is and how it can benefit us. After some deliberation, we decided to get one, and we have not regretted it. Recently, we returned. Leroy is still there, thank goodness, and we added the Dual Temp Control for my wife as she has temperature sensitivity issues, and that too has been an enormous help with her sleep as she can control the warmth or coolness of the bed depending on how she feels. Sleep Number Vacaville is worth the time, and Leroy makes all the easier to find out what we need. read more

He spent a good hour with us explaining everything about the bed, helping us figure out our sleep numbers and educating us on the benefits of the bed itself. We enjoyed our experience but are not ready to buy a 10k bed even with financing it's just not in our budget. Everything adds up quickly unfortunately but we truly appreciate the time spent. The store sold the product they had but any follow up service is a nightmare. If you have any problems with the bed they expect you to be able to figure it out and if you need a technician to come out they charge 190 for the diagnostic and even if you already told them what you need the technician does not travel with replacement parts that is another call and another service fee. I purchased a new king size double mattress adjustable bed from sleep number The bed was installed by sleep number 1 year, one month and 23 days ago and this $5000 bed and their customer service have been giving us issues ever since. One month after install we had a 3-day power outage. The bed was in the upright position when the lights went out. We tried to find the manual lever to put the bed back down as it's impossible to sleep in bed in a sitting position. I was unable to find any manual, mechanical or automatic way to put the mattresses down. My wife and I had to sleep on the sofa and easy chair for 3 nights. That may be fun when you are in your twenties but not when you are in your 70s. After the power was restored I checked with sleep number to find out where the switch was, or where the manual lock was, to put the bed down if this happened again. Long story short there was none. I was flabbergasted. I asked them to provide us with some way to put the bed down in case of a power outage. I read on the internet that there were devises used on these beds because of this issue. The Sleeps numbers bed we purchased at 5 grand did not come with one and "no" they would not provide us with a means to put the bed down in an emergency. I ended up having to buy a backup for this bed for 175.00. I could have requested they take the bed back at that point. I did not and that was a giant mistake it turns out. The bed was installed by sleep number a little over 1 year ago and this $5000 bed has been giving us issues ever since. On my side the bed is sagging at the outside edge and is causing me to slide off the bed in the morning. One time I landed on the floor and hurt my hip bone. It now still hurts 4 months later. At about the same time we noticed that the mattress on my wife's side was slipping off of the frame. Upon examination we found the magnet on the outside of the frame was missing so the mattress did not attach. At the same time the magnet on the inside top was ripped out of the mattress cover leaving the mattress sliding around. That was an issue because of the hole left between the two mattresses and the danger of my wife slipping off the mattress onto the floor and hurting herself as I did. We called sleep number customer support about this new defect. The first service rep we talked to told us the 15 year limited guarantee covered us 100 percent the first year. But, since we were beyond that, the replacement mattress covers - at 650 each side were prorated. We would only have to pay 210.00 each side plus 145.00 for someone to come out and do the install plus shipping and handling for about 620.00 dollars. I did a quick mental calculation 1300 divided by 15 is less than 86.66 dollars each but still insane. Many people pay less 1300 for mattress or even a bed than that. Why would we need to pay 620 dollars to repair a 1year old bed that we originally paid 5000 dollars for. That nuts. I asked for a supervisor so they could explain this to me. Naturally after about 5 minutes I was put back into the que for customer service not a supervisor. The second rep we talked to (who said she was supervisor) had us look at the bottom of the mattress where the magnets were. We discovered that only one magnet was attached to the frame and mattress cover but that one had ripped out of the mattress cover. The magnet on the outer side was attached to the cover but there was nothing (no magnet) attached to the frame. There are supposed to be 2 magnets on the top and both should be attached to the frame side magnets. I am not an engineer myself but know enough that I can safely say that without the second magnet attached, the one holding everything would eventually give way - and it gave way in 1 year. Talk about planned obsolescence! I told them I didn't believe their numbers were right and they we charging us a ridiculous amount for something that is a defect and should cost us nothing. The rep claimed it was not a defect at all but only an "issue. " That is insane indeed. Since they won't do anything unless they got our credit card I told them thank you and that I would see them in court. I am now pursuing a law suit against them. I do not recommend anyone buy a sleep number bed because of all of the above. The product is cheap, the price is very high for what you get and customer support seems to be geared to extract more money from you rather than help. I have never to my knowledge seen such a big rip-off. They must be taking instruction from Bernie Madoff. I no longer recommend a sleep number bed to anyone. read more

We had a good experience shopping for the mattress + frame. That was it. The customer service through Sleep Number has been atrocious. This store, where we bought the bed set has done nothing to help us, either. The bed was awful. My back began to hurt after two nights, my wife and I were getting horrible neck pain, and anytime one of us changed our position or got up for the bathroom, the mattress was like a trampoline and moved like crazy. If I had it set to 50, the bed was a rock. If I changed it 45, the bed would swallow me up. Zero customer support solving any of these issues and when we chose to return it, the first Agent literally told us, " No, you have to use it. You can't return it until you have used it for 30 days." Finally returning the mattress, we learn the nearly $3k frame is actually not returnable (thank you for the heads up!). Apparently, when they took the mattress, they also slyly stole the small white box that connects to Bluetooth and replaced our remote with a worse model. A few days later, they even erased our account on the app so we have no way at all to ever control this frame again via BT. THIS FRAME IS ADVERTISED AS BEING BLUETOOTH COMPATIBLE. No, it is not. And they refuse to help us at all. The store washed their hands of us and just gave me a card for their bullshit customer service line, which so far has only treated me like garbage. Certainly, beyond a doubt, this is a company I will forever tell my family, friends, coworkers, even my enemies, never to do business with. read more

BED BUGS FROM EITHER THE BED OR THE DELIVERY TRUCK I wanted to try and deal with this in another way but Sleep Number Corporate does not want to listen. On February 21,2020 my wife and I purchased a ILE 360 bed. It was delivered on March 6, 2020. I remember that we got squeezed in because a technician did not come in. During the delivery I looked into the truck and saw the old beds on one side and our bed on the other. Then in April my wife began to develop a rash on her right arm, then her shoulder and the side of her body. Because of COVID going on she had to do tele-appointments. After a multitude of tele-exams, treatments, and medications the dermatologist said that her rash sores looked like bed bug bites. We are retired and have not traveled anywhere since December 2018 so there is no way we brought this back home. I telephoned the store where we bought the bed and they referred use to Customer Service, Allergens. The customer service rep. said that they do not have a problem with bed bugs and their products because of the cleaning protocols they have in place and then gave me the number to Orkin and Terminex. If you have never had a problem then why do you have a relationship with Orkin and Teminex? The rep. said they would NOT help with the fumigation costs even if bed bugs were found in the bed because it couldn't be their fault. We did a home based attempt by way of washing all of our bedding and clothing, fogging our bedroom and spraying chemicals all over our headboard/bed frame to kill the bed bugs and their eggs.We stopped them. THEN THE BED BUGS CAME BACK, so we called Orkin and their inspector came out and bed bugs were found in the memory foam. Orkin wanted $1700.00 to do our bedroom, both connecting bathrooms and another room. We shopped around and we had Fast Action Pest Control come out. They fumigated our our rooms. As of now we hope that the bed bugs and the eggs are dead. I called Leroy at the Vacaville store and he said he would have Sleep Number Corporate contact us. Today a representative, Bob, called us and basically accused us of bringing in the bed bugs. He told my wife that they DO NOT have a problem with bed bugs and I must have brought it home after shopping at the grocery. "How dare you accuse us of bringing home the bed bugs!!!!" How dare you even infer that we must have done this to our selves. I know how the bed bugs got into our house. We were the last appointment for the day and the delivery technicians and the truck, were running very late (the bed was delivered in the evening and not 3 pm). The old beds that had been picked up were in the truck and some were uncovered. Obviously there was transference from an old bed that had the bugs to either our bed or to a technician setting the bed up. I have the bed bugs I found sealed up in clear tape as proof there were bed bugs. My wife wanted to get this $5,000.00 bed so I could be able to get some comfortable sleep because of all the injuries I incurred during my working career. Once the hundred day return date is past THEY DON'T CARE. So I have lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will continue with other avenues until Sleep Number takes this seriously. 08/18/2020: We were telephoned by Kelly from Sleep Number Corporate today and got the same corporate line. They are NOT responsible for bed bugs and they will NOT replace our bed or give us a credit for the bed we now have. It is NOT their policy to correct something that happened in the delivery process. My girlfriend and I were in the Vacaville, California store on Saturday October 1st. We were shopping around for a new bed. Long story shorts we agreed on the i8. We had it delivered a few weeks later. Unfortunately, we are not happy with it. We had no intentions on returning it however that is what it came down to because of the uncomfortableness. While I was going through the return process with customer service, they stated to me that the adjustable base was a final sale and was not returnable. I was confused by this. I went over my contract and I read the fine print and indeed that was the case. If I would have known from the beginning that the adjustable base was not returnable, I would not have risked purchasing a Sleep Number bed. The young lady that was helping us did not clearly state this. And that is what I am extremely upset about. I see that it is in the contract but it should be made clear to the customer that the adjustable base is a final sale. Adriana, did not clearly state this to us which in my opinion is very deceitful just to sell a bed and make a commission, hoping that the customer does not see that they cannot return the base which is between $3000 - $4000). This is very shady and extremely immoral. I work hard for my money and a $10,000 bed is not cheap. Especially when I can only get just over $5,000 of that back. To save up for a bed for a year, not be happy with it and go to return it and only get half your money back (when the sales lady stated everything is 100% returnable) is absolutely saddening. In my case that is half a year of savings that I will never see again, that much less food that I can put on my family's table. In my opinion and experience Sleep Number and their employees are a very deceitful company to not clearly state this. I should have read the fine print and I will take fault for that however; I will not take fault on trying to scam a customer. It was my fault for believing the salesperson and not reading the fine print on the contract. I came in to test out new pillows since I had insomnia for weeks now. Plus my neck and shoulders were always hurting after a sleep. The sales was so helpful with my needs. He is a chiropractor so he knew exactly what my problems were and told me how high my pillow should be! I purchased a pillow that was suggested and since then, I have been sleeping so good. My husband and I were looking for a new mattress and a frame. We got to this place and the customer service was amazing, we tried a lot of different mattress and we thought we found a good one. After we got our matress, we were happy and excited to sleep in it ( BTW my husband was counting the days). After the first night we realize that our mattress was different than the one at the store. It has a hole in the middle, the air pressure was never consistent and my partner moving made me bounce. We call them and try to return the mattress but they rudely told us we have to wait for a month to return it. This bed gave us back pain, neck pain, and made it impossible to get a good night's rest. After we returned the mattress, we learned the frame IS NOT RETURNABLE and we realized that we can't use our phones to control the frame anymore. So we call customer service and they told us that we don't have an account anymore ( what does that mean? Is it free?). I guess since we returned the mattress they just deleted our account so now we can't use the frame it all. We are paying a TON for this frame, which ADVERTISES that it is controllable via Bluetooth but DOES NOT MENTION anything about requiring the mattress to do so. Now we have a heap of useless junk. My husband insisted that we try a Sleep Number bed. We bought our bed in Vacaville. Today, three weeks later the bed was delivered. I HATE IT! The delivery guys were nice enough, But, I can't stand the way the bed looks, it's terrible! If you don't care how your house looks. Go for it! I have spent a lot of money and time making sure that our furniture/décor is nice. This bed looks like crap. I would not recommend it unless you like the look of hospital beds. Can't believe we're paying 5K for the WORST piece of furniture in the house. Wish I'd NEVER stepped foot in that store! Do your research. 4 WEEKS LATER: After really trying to get used to the bed I still hate it. We bought a queen size bed and actually still like to snuggle. What we didn't realize is that there is a "HUMP" in the middle of the bed, between to two air chambers. It's like sleeping side by side in a pair of hammocks. Thought it couldn't get any worse. Now, we are having the hardest time trying to get through to them about picking it up! Oh and you're not allowed to bring it back yourself. They HAVE to pick it up. Since we already ordered a normal bed I'm desperately trying to talk to a person at Sleep Number. What a nightmare. I have never filed a complaint with the BBB. This will likely be my first time. Bought this $10,000 bed that was supposed to be the best of the best. The bed is comfortable, the problem is that it's an oven. Tried an electric air conditioning unit that was supposed to keep the bed cool. That didn't work so I returned it, then I was promised a bed liner that would keep the bed cool and that didn't work. My review is because I was mislead and lied to. Bed gets very hot and there's nothing you can do about it, that's the truth. read more

We purchased a sleep number bed in Nov 2016. We love the bed, however, when purchased we were told each side would have a remote. When the bed was delivered, we were told, only one remote comes with the bed, as the company just changed the rules stating that we can now use our cell phone. I contacted the store and was told they would order a remote. Two weeks later, I called and the gentleman said it was being shipped to us. Another two weeks went by, then we emailed the manufacturer. They stated that the remote could be ordered at a cost. After $8000.00 for a bed, we feel dismissed. They have our money! Update.......... The Sleep Number bed is really just a glorified air mattress and that's exactly what it feels like. This is the worst bed I have ever owned! No issues with the store but the product is not at all as described. It's an air mattress that bottoms-out when you're not laying on it and does not isolate motion from a bed partner, even though each side has it's own adjustment. To make matters worse, they do not honor the money-back guarantee unless you speak to a "sleep specialist" who did not have any useful ideas. If there was a way to rate this store at half-a-star, I WOULD!!! DO NOT GET SUCKERED BY THESE PEOPLE!! The king we bought has a 8" gap between the two mattresses. The people at the store only responded after multiple calls, and then told me to look at the gap from UNDER the bed to see if their installation people forgot to tighten something. When I reminded them that 1) We bought the bed because my wife and I both suffer from knee and hip joint problems, and 2) I didn't spend 12k for something that I'm expected to work on, the store manager then suggested I get a neighbor to crawl underneath the bed to check the hardware!! Went in looking for a mattress not really understanding the beds. I didn't know that we would be walking out with the best night sleep we have had in years. The whole crew was really helpful and ACTUALLY CARED HOW WE HAD BEEN SLEEPING!! They helped us understand not only how the beds work, but eased us both to find the right bed for US!! We went with an I8 that we have fallen in LOVE with. This store is not only bigger than most, but sold us from the moment we went in, on out. CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE REVIEW ONLY - My husband and I went in to check out the sleep number beds as we pondered about purchasing it for several years but never committed. We were even helped a few years ago at a store. This year, we went in and a new salesman helped us out twice. The third time, there was a couple of people (a gentleman and a woman) who assisted us. Once we provided the name of the salesman who helped us this year, the woman bashed him from the beginning of the sale to the end. Here are several examples of what she said, "He shouldn't have given you a 50% discount on this old style in-balance. But I'll give you the discount anyway, since it was HIS mistake." AND "Did he offer you the mattress protection pad? Well, he should have. I can't believe he didn't offer it to you." AND "You got offered XXXX for financing? Because you know, you can get an increase. Did he call?" AND "Did he offer you the downgrade of the M7 so you can put the whole thing in your financing? Well, he should have." The salesman who was there, wasn't so bad but did ask about whether the prior salesman offered it. But the saleswoman wouldn't let up. Almost the whole conversation was about what the 1st salesman didn't do. This pretty much took the icing on the cake once everything was all said and done; She said, "I put my business card inside there because XXXXX won't be there as of this Thursday." First let me tell you, I have worked in the customer service business for a number of years, and every bit of that conversation was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and very CONFIDENTIAL (your company can be sued for defamation of character or slander). My husband and I don't need to know if he lacked the proper training or just didn't get it. Nor do we need to even be alluded as to why he may be terminated, IS being terminated or has resigned. Please train your personnel to ensure tact and professionalism, customers don't need to know what's going on internally in your place of business. THE ONLY REASON we purchased the bed from her was to take advantage of the financing and the sale. That was it. read more
