Upon entering I was greeted at the front door by a very helpful store associate. They filled my RV propane, provided miscellaneous other needs including RV tank solution. Being that we live in the area, we tend to stop here at least once a month to give retake, depending on our tasks around the house or in the garden. Most the time when we come in here, the ladies at work here, pretty friendly, but most of the male crew that just walk right by you in front of you and not even acknowledge you for the most part or if they feel like you are more resident that they've seen more often than you may occasional hello, but overall one of the managers would just walk by and not say anything. Again, I don't come in here unless I feel like something really needed or a pretty good deal. Ace Hardware locations Convenience store with high prices because no one else in town offers what they have. For the most part, the stores kept clean can find some odds and ends in here as well even ladybugs and or earthworms. Garden section not fan of it. A lot of the stuff is died out or not as tended to as the inside of the store. We have visited friendlier locations or I will drive extra miles to tend to another location. Today. There was Supposed to be a free BBQ for customers for Labor Day per Corporate FB pages . Went today, Travis the assistant manager was clueless about the promotion. Sir, today we had Hot August Bites in town. Lots of people in town. Seemed like a good opportunity. What really got me is they were even aware of the promotion UNTIL I showed them the face book page of the promo. If you don't know how can you even participate ? . This Ace already has a bad customer service reputation as it is. They don't even ask if you need help looking for something or a acknowledgment of of your existence. I forecasted this Ace would not participate at all. Hell, I was thinking about joining the team there. I know a lot about Customers Service and how customers like friendly service brings them back. I would probably get in trouble for being too helpful taking care of customers. Also, while I have you, your propane dispenser motor needs to be replaced as it's motor is dying. read more

If you are looking for a good selection of standard pipe fittings don't waste your time here. I spent 45 minutes trying to assemble a simple arrangement of 1/2 inch pipe fittings with hardly any luck or assistance. I had to mix galvanised, pvc, copper and brass to make a shut off for my fountain. read more

It's kind of sad to say but had a bad experience at one of our Ace hardware in Napa but my other half was in Rio Vista so I called the young lady was very pleasant and then when he went to find the product he said 4 people helped him. What a big difference from our Ace on Lincoln Avenue. We go to Rio Vista quite often and we will be stopping in and giving them our business for products we need. Lost UPS shipment of insulin, packed with ice, that was sent via next day delivery($$$), from ACE's UPS counter, caused me to file a claim with UPS. Package was then located and delivered on 5th day. Did not hope for a refund with UPS, so Tony, assistant manager along with Gabby provided me with some compensation. Ends up the fault lied with UPS losing the package at one of their access points. ACE was free from any fault. I am always treated well at this small town ACE hardware, and greeted with smiles provided by employees such as Teresa. I grew up in Rio Vista and i liked this place when it was Oilwell Materials. Since the new ownership, the place has fallen DRAMATICALLY. Unfortunately, I have to still come here because the nearest competitor is 30 minutes away. I really think the new owners are shady. Today was the last straw, and I must write a review. I went in to buy 3 2x4s. I asked for douglas fir and they said they had some. Paid for them and went to lumber yard to pick up. None were in site. The guy working the yard says the pressure treated is actually cheaper than the doug fir, and shows me a pricing placard pricing the pressure treated at 5.99. (Doug fir was 9.99) Ok, i say ill take the pressure treated. So back into the store to ring up and they are charging 12.99 for pressure treated! What!? Manager is right there at the counter and isnt even batting an eye, like this is perfectly normal! Really? So now I am paying more for a product I originally didnt want because they were out of what I wanted, even though their computers showed stacks of it in the back. Classic bait and switch tactic, VERY POOR FORM new owners. And here is my other gripe. I am there on a Saturday to get 3/4 copper pipe. I only need 5ft, so I ask someone to cut the pipe. I wait around for 15 minutes waiting for the guy to come back or someone to come help. Tired of waiting, I find the kid I originally asked and he says let me call the manager. Didnt you already call someone 15 minutes ago when I first asked? So we are standing there for another 10 minutes while the kid talks to the manager, (manager never did show their face), and ends up telling me no one can cut the pipe can i come back tomorrow. Seriously?! Thats hugely inconvenient as I need the copper water pipe now to turn the water back on to the building!! Can I come back tomorrow!!?? Its not hard to cut pipe, I could show the kid how because Im sure the insurance wont allow a customer to do it, but nope! I have to come back tomorrow!! The place has fallen, if I could go somewhere else I could. I'm sure the owner knows this so there isnt really any motivation for them to make improvements. Sad, its just sad. read more

My daughter and her twins moved to Rio Vista last weekend. They are so happy, the town is wonderful. I helped her put in her gas dryer and was struggling with the hook ups and made a trip to the local Ace after getting parts in Antioch from Home Depot. I can't say enough good things about Rio Vista's Ace! Dan was incredibly helpful and so was Joshua! These two figured out the puzzle of the gas connection that should have been super easy. I learned way more than I wanted to about adaptors, finally it was a 5/8 from the house to a 3/8 dryer, but it had to be a valve to a pipe fitting. I would have never been able to do this without them. The were gracious and pleasant each of the 4 or 5 times I went back and screamed help again! All of the employees at Rio Visa Ace Hardware are to be commended on their helpfulness and smarts!! Many thanks to them. read more

My Mom and I just moved to Trilogy, Rio Vista, and my Mom is almost 80 and likes to fix her house if it has any issues. She values good customer service as I do. The first time she came to Rio Vista-Ace Hardware, she witnessed an employee who did not try to get the answer she needed. She told me she did not think they are knowledgeable there. I offered to go there with her today to see. We first met Bre, what an awesome young employee you have there. She cared about your question and immediately told us where to find the item. I heard her helping everyone like that. A true Rockstar! Then we had to bring back water crystals which the person Mom met last time, wrongly gave us. We met Pam, another exceptional employee, who not only had the three heavy bags removed from our car. She, along with another young man helped us get the right pellets into our car! Both these women deserve their jobs and are Management worthy. We will be back to enjoy thier excellent customer service! read more

For those shopping at ACE hardware Rio Vista I suggest packing a lunch or at least a snack. After waiting fifteen minutes at the service desk for paint while another customer is helped I was told I had to wait in line at the register and when I get to the clerk request the paint I need, wait for someone to come to mix it, then wait again in line to pay for it. Meanwhile, back at the service desk, I've watched the register line clear three times and when it's finally my turn at the service desk the clerk takes the next person in the register line "because that's how the system works". I'll drive twenty miles and pay bridge fee before shopping there again. This could easily devolve into a nasty rant. This is not my first frustrating visit to this store. The first time I went there they were very busy. The cashier saw me looking down the aisles and up at the aisle signs and asked if she could help. I told her what I was looking for and she directed me right to it. When I checked out she set me up with the Ace Rewards program. Subsequent visits have been just as easy and the folks just as friendly. There's no reason to drive to the big box hardware stores with these folks right here in town. read more

I want to support my local businesses, and when I find a shortcoming in any of them, I want the business owner/manager to know. Our Ace Hardware prides itself on its customer service, and in many ways it succeeds. However, I can't trust the information I receive on the telephone. I recently telephoned and asked a sales person if they had a particular plumbing item in stock. He didn't quite understand what it was that I wanted. Finally he got it straight, went and searched the stock, returned to the phone and said that it was not in stock. However, he did say that a comparable item was available. I told him that I needed the item I described and explained why. He said, "sorry, we don't have it." Okay. So I had to get the item from Lowes 20 miles away. Same day, I went to our Ace to buy some items I knew were available. Lo and behold, there were 5 or 6 items I called about earlier, right above the item described by the fellow on phone. Proper training of that employee would have included, "If you aren't sure about what you are looking for, ask someone to help." read more
