When you're tired of bland hotel coffee, it might be worthwhile enough to to make a stop here to get a fix. Certainly they are busy upon opening with a line that goes out the door and in front along the street. I was a bit disappointed with their Monks Decadence as I couldn't taste much flavor with their hazelnut and Irish cream, bad day maybe? Their Monastery Madness was better at least, but I was searching for the amaretto flavor too. Personally I'm not a scone fan, but the wifey enjoyed it. Not a review of the coffee itself but of the service. My friends and I were addressed very rudely at this establishment. We were excited as we checked this Yelp and saw superb reviews and is at a beautiful location. However, I cannot recommend it as the employee / owner was not only disrespectful without being provoked, but also talked in an accusatory tone. Customers and establishments should both treat each other with respect, and we were not given that here. Upon closer inspection of the Yelp page, I saw this our experience was not unique. I wish that we had taken note of the multiple negative reviews that mentioned the unpleasant attitudes of the employees here, and the defensive nature of the replies on Yelp. read more

Cute spot right in the middle of town by Haystack. The line gets really long, but the staff move quickly. For how many people they're serving and how fast they get your stuff out, it's not that long of a wait! The staff were friendly, the pastries/goods are made fresh daily and are gluten free/vegan, and the coffee was yummy!! They offer dairy alts, but no oat milk so as a strictly oat milk in my coffee person this made me a lil sad. Overall, I didn't mind the no oat milk and everything else they offered made me happy. My all the favorite coffee shop! I love the aesthetic inside and their unique logo design. Anytime I'm in cannon beach I stop by and always have a great experience with the baristas. They always are so welcoming and have complimented my outfits multiple times. They don't have their flavor syrups listed but are always open to letting you know what they have and what they recommend. I got their coffee beans to take home and make espresso with and it is my favorite to use now. Love the different blends they have from around the world and how they even offer different ways to grind the beans if you want them to! A cute coffee shop right by cannon beach. Its small and cozy but the service here was great and the coffee was solid. Their baked good selection in the morning was delicious. They have a nice little seating area out front but you could just grab a coffee and walk to cannon beach in a few mins. I ordered a Monks Decadence specialty drink (espresso, milk, irish cream, whipped cream) and bacon/blue cheese scone. The drink itself was nothing to write home about - perhaps as a novice coffee taster, the complexity that the coffee/drink had was lost on me. It was not too sweet which was nice, but tasted more like coffee diluted with milk. I did enjoy the large bacon/blue cheese scone, but I wish it had been heated up. They do have a great selection of baked goods though, and I know several other coastal coffee shops get their beans from here. We went during the pandemic and also the fires were also causing lots of smokiness. We waited in a line outside for social distancing. Once inside we ordered our beverages. The staff was pleasant enough but in a hurry due to the long line. We waited outside for our names to be called for our drinks. Mine was barely warm- but, the line was so long and no one was available outdoors to check on your satisfaction with your beverage. The staff was so pleasant. They offered my pup a few treats...so sweet of them. I'm not a coffee drinker but still love this place as the hot chocolate and snacks are tasty. The YS usually buys beans to go so we are both happy. This last visit was the first time I had a chance to sit inside and enjoy my drink as it's always very busy. We caught a bit a a lull in the activity. I noticed a whole other restaurant that was in the back of the counter. Which I realized was another business back there in the evenings according to the other reviews on Yelp. I was confused when I was told there are no bathrooms in here. I thought the law in Oregon was if you served food and drink to eat inside you were required to provide a bathroom. Dropped by here a few times a few years back and really enjoyed their coffee. Got some iced drinks for me and my wife recently and it was really unimpressive. I got an iced mocha and the only way I could tell there was chocolate in it was from comparing it to my wife's latte. A slightly darker color, but no flavor at all. Got my wife an iced latte with a couple flavors and was worried it might be too sweet as my wife is not a fan of too much sweetness. Well, it definitely wasn't too sweet as she couldn't taste anything. I tried it and it was quite bad. Thought the good espresso would save it, but no such luck. Not sure if they were pulling ten second shots or what, but neither beverage was any good. I forced down a good chunk of mine just to get the caffeine and my wife didn't drink even half of hers. The line out the door each morning (except Wednesday) is indicative of the quality of experience. Make it a stop anytime when you roll through or past Cannon Beach. Drinks & Food: There are lots of coffee variations here, and you can sample some, as well as walk home with some. There are all kinds of blends as well as single origin. All the beans are organic and roasted locally in town. All the espresso drinks use only ristretto shots, and you can tell as there's not a hint of bitterness. That is saying something because even the "candy coffee" offerings are in subtle and feature the coffee not the add-ins, which themselves are wonderful. Insider Tip: Order a specialty drink even if they read as too sweet (they are not). In particular the chocolate whipped cream is fantastic The pastries are made fresh in the facility the night before. Most are of the sweet variety, but there are some savory options. I consider them to be good but not great. Environment: Set on the south side of town, between the Hallmark and Surfsand Resort, the shop is perfectly placed for the "morning" crowd. I say morning crowd because it doesn't open until 8:00am setting itself up for a huge line going well out the door. The line does move fast with an intelligent set up of three doors (essentially one entrance and two exits). As it's busy it's somewhat tough to enjoy the space, but there is both indoor and outdoor seating. With no WiFi, the folks holding down the chairs are engaged in conversation, not social media or work. Service is very pleasant, and even if you're a tourist, you'll feel like you're part of the town. Given how buried they get, this is a testament to their customer service. Cannon Beach has grown up a lot in the last five to ten years. I remember when it was a sleepy undiscovered beach town and not a vacation destination. One could argue the breweries and large resorts have changed the town/experience for the worse (you could also argue the opposite). I came by here the other day just after they closed, out west from portland i have been looking for a solid cup, and manzanita hasnt had much. I needed another bag as i was just running low and wow this place fit the bill i rltasted about 8 blends they had out, and found some strong ones. They were organic amd quite tasty. I got a lb of coffee (no 12 oz bag here) and 2 20oz drip (mine was easily good enough to drink black, how i drink it). Get this, i handed the lady a 20, i got 4.50 back... yeah a lb of organic great coffee and 2 lg coffees for just about 15 dollars. I had to ask if she got it all. All and all very friendly, and clean place to get a great cup. Seating was nice and had outdoor as well. I would highly reccomemd goi g here if you are in cannon beach or seaside. This is a popular place in Cannon Beach. You wait in a long line outside, but the scones are worth it. Good coffee. The baked goods are very good with scones the highlight. The turnover was also good. You wait outside, order at the inside counter and pick up the food outside. There are some tables to sit at in front of the building. The counter folks were friendly, helpful and very appreciative of a tip (which makes you glad you did tip). The prices were very reasonable. $14 got us two coffees, a scone and a turnover. They have parking right next to the building which is reserved for the shopping area, which is nice in a parking starved area such as Cannon Beach. read more

I've been going here for many years and was pretty disappointed at my last visit. My family enjoys the ground coffee a lot and used to really like going in the morning when at the beach. Usually the coffee has been good, the service friendly, and the pastries decent-delicious. However, I had a somewhat unpleasant interaction with one of the staff members last time. I politely asked her if she had seen a lost credit card, since i had bought a coffee 20 minutes prior, and was then told very dismissively how she never makes mistakes like not handing a card back to a customer.
