We hired Sleight of Hand to cater our event at Humble Sea Brewing. They showed up at the time set and got right to work getting everything set up. The food was ready exactly when requested and the two people working were friendly and helpful. The charcuterie boards had a great variety, the two salads were both delicious with fresh ingredients and had a good level of sauce and all four pizzas were delicious. The Bees Knees was the crowd favorite. They gave us the leftover pizza making the cost of catering even more worth it. We even got a dough throwing demonstration that was great! read more

They do popups at Stockwell Cellars and Humble Sea Brewing. The pizza is tavern-style, thin crust. Unlike Neapolitan, there is no oven spring in the crust edges. 3/5: The Killer Bees pizza: $26. Flavors were good but the crust fell flat for me; No puffy oven spring on the edges, no snap in the middle. It's as if they forgot to ferment the dough. Tried Sleight of Hand when they were popped up at a winery. All of the pizzas looked and sounded amazing, but my friend and I ended up with the Spicy Sweet Cheese pizza (not the one pictured below, the phone did not eat first this time) I was a little worried the pizza might be too spicy, but that wasn't the case at all. The goat cheese and honey was a nice sweet and tangy contrast to the chilis. I was also pleased that the truffle wasn't overpowering, just a nice little touch of it. read more

I don't leave a lot of reviews these days because I tend to frequent the places I love, and have already reviewed... Once in a while however, I discover a local delight that I have never experienced before, as is the case tonight. Sleight of hand happened to be at my local brewpub and I ordered up a "killer bee's" to compliment my delicious IPA. This experience inspired my review tonight! The killer bee's is a hand stretched pizza with homemade tomato sauce made from local vine ripened tomatoes. The dough is award winning and topped with locally made pepperoni and honey, and Calabrian chilli's. All those thoughtfully selected ingredients are masterfully cooked up in a mobile wood fired oven! The end product is incredibly good, and a good value as well! I expect to pay north of $20 for just about anything from a pop-up these days, but this pizza was big enough to share! In fact I took half of it home for another meal. The crew making these pies were super cool and invited my "action photo" of my pie cooking in their oven. Patrick came over for a conversation afterwards where I shared I am too a pizza maker with my own hand built oven... This place checks all the boxes, 5 stars! INCREDIBLE. We had the BEST experience hiring Sleight of Hand for our wedding at Sequoia Retreat Center. We are from NJ+NY as are lots of our visiting family so we really needed to nail the pizza. We literally heard from groom's New Yorker dad "Best pizza I've ever had in my life" and we agree! Absolutely delicious. And they were so accommodating for the gluten free + vegan folks too. They were recently at MJA Winery, and I bought two pizzas: a spicy pepperoni with honey and my usual Margarita. Both were exceptional. When I asked for suggestions about staffing they had a few options. When I set the venue and they realized they hadn't been there before they set up a time to look at the venue together to make sure they understood what I wanted. When Justin and Liza realized that their baby's due date was right around my wedding, they let me know and made sure everything ran smoothly. Their crew is top notch too, and I didn't worry a minute! 1000/10 would recommend Sleight of Hand Pizza for wedding catering! We knew early on that we wanted laid back but delicious food, and Sleight of Hand fit that bill perfectly. They were extremely efficient in preparing pizza for over 100 guests, and I don't think that anyone had to wait more than a minute or two for a fresh pizza to refill an empty space. In the months leading up to the wedding, they were super responsive to any emails that we sent. Liza and Justin were also super accommodating to our dietary restrictions, and even went out of their way to use a vegan cheese for myself and a handful of our vegan guests. They kindly set out some vegan cheese and salami for appetizers. The cherry on top was Justin's pizza tossing demonstration! It was such a fun experience and so unique. Our cousin's 3-year-old son was quite enamored with the pizza tossing, and had a blast trying to do it himself. We highly recommend Sleight of Hand! read more

We love Sleight of Hand Pizza! We had a chance encounter in June 2018 and couldn't stop raving about how good the honey pepperoni slice was. After finding them at the Coconut Grove Wedding Expo in early 2019 we knew we wanted them at our wedding! Initially they were one of two food vendors hired for our guests. With only two weeks before the wedding I asked if Sleight of Hand could take over full food responsibility for the reception and they graciously said yes, and then some! They fresh baked pizzas for our guests and also prepared a grazing table which our guests loved! Justin and Liza provided the catering for a large 80th birthday party last month held in our garden. They are really lovely to work with and during the lead-up to the party were quick to answer questions and provide suggestions. They were here early which was great because we could run the table setup for our 60+ guests by them. Their presentation of hors d'oeuvres followed by the pizzas is so attractive - I would describe it as casual elegance - and their pizza menu is diverse and delicious. (They can provide gluten and/or dairy free if requested). Although they always bring their own pizza oven, they agreed to use our outdoor built-in pizza oven. It was great because it allowed the guests to watch the pizza being made. Justin and Liza were so gracious about conversing with guests and answering questions while they were baking and serving. I have made enough of my own attempts at baking pizza and conversing with guests and I can tell you that is is NOT easy! And Justin's demonstration of dough spinning at the end brought the house down. I highly recommend Sleight of Hand. read more

Sleight of Hand just catered my 50th birthday up in the Santa Cruz mountains, and they were fantastic. They rolled up with their wood-fired pizza oven, set up a huge spread, and cranked out some of the best pizza I've ever had. They were friendly, helpful, great with the kids and just all around fun. These folks know pizza - I had some special bacon and anchovies on hand, and they crafted a recipe on the spot for them that was to die for. And if you question whether or not a pizza should have honey on it, don't. It's outstanding. The pizza and food were tops, but the finale was watching world champion Justin show off his astounding pizza tossing skills. Crazy and super fun. He showed the kids (and me, the big kid) some tricks, and the littles spent the rest of the evening practicing their skills and trying not to drop the dough where the doggos could nab it. We got their pizza and salad combo for dinner and their cheese board option for cocktail hour. It was such a highlight on my wedding day getting to sit and enjoy delicious pizza with my new husband. Our 120 guests were served efficiently with pizza right out of the oven. They had many dietary restriction accommodations and plenty of left overs.
