When we arrived, our table was ready with two dishes of water and milk bones for our dogs. Our service was great and our server very friendly. The margaritas are very good. The cheese curds were cooked perfectly and tasted great. The juicy flavorful brisket was served on Texas toast with crispy French fries. The buffalo pizza had great flavor but the crust was not crisp at all, I think it needed few more minutes in the oven. (Reheated in our air fryer the next night and it was even better and crispy) The dessert options were plenty. We ended up with a peach crisp and the butter cake. Both were delicious. Foxfire at Alpine is a cozy place, often with wonderful live music. We will be back again next time we go camping.

The menu card we were handed showed a cheese pizza at $17.99, with green pepper, mushrooms, black olives and onions at $1.00 each and pepperoni at $1.75. The menu was removed after we placed our order. According to those prices, the pizza should have been: Cheese pizza: $17.99 Green pepper: $1.00 Mushrooms: $1.00 Pepperoni: $1.75 Black olives: $1.00 Onions: $1.00 Total: $23.74 Our receipt shows the pizza at $27.99. It also shows the toppings at higher prices -- $1.50 each for green pepper, mushrooms, black olives and caramelized onions, and $2.00 for pepperoni. When we got home I checked their website, and its menu matched the prices on the menu we had been given. I've attached a screenshot of that menu along with our receipt. The crust was also soft, limp, grey and very floppy. The toppings themselves were good, but the foundation of the pizza was a letdown. The owner stopped at our table and chatted with us. We mentioned the crust, although we didn't really understand his explanation. He also offered us a sample of a porter-style beer, which was very good. The service was very good as well. With relatively few dinner choices in Alpine, I would simply recommend checking the menu prices against your bill carefully before paying.

I ordered the penne pasta with white sauce and shrimp, and the portion was generous enough that I had leftovers. I served them the next night alongside steaks, and the pasta was just as flavorful warmed up as it was when it first arrived. So many wonderful flavors in every bite! We sat at the bar both times, and both bartenders were outstanding--attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely fun to chat with. They had the soccer game playing, so we were able to enjoy a great meal, relax, and watch the game at the same time. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the service is exceptional, and the food is outstanding. The Red Devil is an absolute must when visiting Pinetop!

Note that they open at different hours than those listed on Google Maps and do not update the hours on Google when they are closed during the listed hours. They do post on their Facebook page when they open and are responsive to messages on there. They run this business from the back of their home. I got the fry bread with beans but got them as a side (Was charged same price of $6.50 for frybread with beans). They do not use lard in the frybread and do not use lard, chicken stock or beef broth in the beans. They surprisingly didn't know the word vegetarian and at first told me they don't make vegetarian food but the fry bread and beans were naturally vegetarian (and vegan) based on the ingredients they listed when I asked to clarify. Their Frybread is made with enriched bleached flour, baking soda and water. Beans are made with vegetable oil and salt. The beans were simple but good. We like them more after we added salt that was available on the condiment table. The condiment table had raw honey and various mainstream hot sauce (some hot sauces were past their expiration dates) They had a sink in the front which is useful after eating the honey. They have some tables in the front. Their home and business is located on the Fort Apache Reservation. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out!
