We first tried Slim Chickens in Hurst and LOVED it! When one opened two blocks from me in Dallas I couldn't have been happier! The wings are always great; crispy and perfectly juicy. My partner always has the tenders, and those are delicious, too. The sauces are really yummy, and the blues music provides a more pleasant atmosphere than a typical fast food restaurant. The outdoor seating is very nice, also. We've had takeout, and it makes it home hot and crunchy, due to well-thought out packaging. Be sure to check your order before you leave; there's lots of room for error with the wing coatings and dipping sauces. We had a small issue with this, but Jeff, the General Manager, was happy to make it right on our next visit. I recommend Slim Chickens and I have them on speed dial! read more

Had to wait 28 minutes for my 12 piece order, which came up short 1 chicken strip. The mac and cheese was cold and the bread was cold. Had to wait 20 min just for them to bring me my bag of tea. The chicken was decent but inconsistent in flavor, size, and in texture. I did notify them of the lack of the chicken strip but they never corrected the issue. Meh. I received my first experience via delivery so i won't dock any points for it being cold. I will say the grilled chicken strips are a substantial portion but were marinated in a sweet sauce I didn't care for at all. It tastes like a grocery store marinade they found on sale. It was also overcooked so quite dry. Thank goodness for the sauces. The honey mustard was great but I also wanted to try the Honey Bbq but it was so spicy I couldn't eat much. Maybe I received something different? The mac n cheese was pretty uninspired and tasted like buffet line mac. I was pretty underwhelmed so I don't think I am in a rush to return. read more

i was in the area going to a restaurant called normas when i saw this restaurant...a coworker told me the food is pretty dang good...so i decided to give it a try...man oh man oh man...i ordered the chicks plate (3 tenders served with Texas toast, a side of your choice, 1 dipping sauce and a drink)...i order white gravy and a dr pepper...let me share a lil something with you...food is totally bad to the bone (the chicken seasoned to perfection, fried as if they were using fresh cooking oil and the chicken was not heavy but light and flavorful), drink was refreshing and staff treated me like they knew me from head to toe...very friendly and uber professional...the tenders were so good that I ate them without the sauce...we sat in the car eating the food and loving it....i went back in there and got the chicken and waffles...damn damn damn... read more

I have come here as a customer and as an Uber Eats driver and both times I have gotten nothing but RUDE SERVICE!....Most recently on the evening of 6/23/18...Came in..the cashier Brianna was unprofessional...she looked like she didn't want to be there and I was a bother. I was not predisposed to liking this place...chicken nuggets, ho hum...but wow! It was really delicious! The cole slaw was better than I've had anywhere, ever, and the ranch chips were hot and fresh, made to order. The wraps were soft and tender and packed with chicken and flavor. The woman at the counter was so nice and checked on us midway through the meal. Good iced tea, fresh lemons, and a large drink selection. Clean surroundings and a nice outdoor space which the weather allowed us to enjoy. So good, and we can't wait to go back and try some of the dipping sauces as well as some other sides. read more

the tenders are among the good picks and the fried mushroom shouldnt be left out. chicken and waffles are average, i think they should serve it with no syrup and just put it on the side, served it with syrup made it soggy. worth the usual fastfood visits read more

I had never heard of this place, but apparently my boyfriend loves it so he had me try it. I had the Cayenne Ranch Chicken Sandwich, and it was pretty good but I expected it to be a lot spicer-maybe next time I'll get the chicken tossed in a sauce as the cashier suggested. The fries are great though! Seasoned very well and you get a lot with your order. Didn't realized they had fried mushrooms while I was there-wish I would have tried them..maybe next time! read more

Any other day I would give this place a higher rating - my husband has eaten here at least 10 times since the location opened, literally, a few months ago. But tonight was a different story. We placed a carry-out order, but maybe that was a mistake. The person on the other end proclaimed she was "new", so that was a challenge to simply place a single order for an 8-piece plate, 4 wings buffalo + 4 wings honey BBQ. THAT should have been a warning! The lady then asks my husband when he would like to pick up his order ... which I was thinking SHE should have told him a time. So he informs her that we live close and can be there in 10 minutes - to which she lets him know to 'give them at least 10 minutes since they have to cook his order' ... well. DUH! He gets there and apparently the whole staff is new and trying to figure out how to do things - i.e. the front counter staff was telling the cooks when to flip and/or drop items for orders. Insane. And lastly his order - NOT. FRESH. the fries tasted like they had been sitting out for hours and the chicken wings, despite being "shaked" in seasoning were still no good. Next time, we'll opt to NOT call in our order and see, just see, if the food is fresher... but otherwise, we'll stick with WingStop or Chick-fil-A! read more

Today was my first time trying Slim Chickens after hearing the hype and wanting to try something besides Canes. The Slims plate is good (5 strips, fries and two halves of texas toast). Overall the chicken, fries, and Texas toast are ok, but there are better options in Dallas when it comes to chicken strips.( I personally think Canes and Chic-fil-a's strips are better). I found the batter to be a little on the thin side and a little soggy. I had the slims sauce and cayenne ranch, and wast impressed with either. I will probably give it another shot, but am not in any hurry to do so. read more

I love going to this location. Lots of parking and great location! I like that I can eat as healthy as I want. All options are grilled OR fried?!?! I'm IN! The Slims salad is my main order. When I first walked into this location I was a little skeptical because I went into the bathroom and I expected it to be a little bit cleaner but it wasn't anything too bad. Then I walk up to the counter the lady was really nice very welcoming and ordering was pretty easy. I got the 5 tender combo with two dipping sauces and one thing I really like about this place is that they have many different options for sauce which is a big plus plus plus plus for me. I waited for my order which wasn't too long and I found out that they give a lot of food for the price which is good because it's a little bit more expensive than canes but not by very much. Oh and before I forget I also ordered the fried pickles. Now as I sit on the table with my plethora of food I first bite into the chicken tender and wow let me tell you something I was very impressed this place is way better than Raising Cane's. First of all the chicken has more flavor to it and I think it has to do with the buttermilk batter and the seasoning they use to marinate the chicken. The french fries are crispy and actually very good I could not keep my girlfriend from stealing them off of my basket which kind of got to me a little bit. Anyway, now to the fried pickles I usually order fried pickles when I go to bars and different restaurants this place has really good fried pickles and I would compare them to Twin Peaks 10 out of 10. I could not finish all of my food even though it was so good, so I got a bag to go and I will definitely be eating this for lunch tomorrow. Chic-Fil-A better watch out! Slim Chickens is fantastic! The chicken is piping hot...every time! And the selection of sauces - wow! I always go for the gravy.. country boy, at heart, but I recently tried the Slim Sauce. I don't know what is in it, but it's so good and a nice cool sauce to go with the hot chicken! The staff is always super attentive and usually, a man (I'm assuming the owner or manager) is walking around offering for us to try a different sauce. I've never had a bad experience with this place. I always get the chick plate (3 pieces of chicken) but could always go for the 5 piece. 5 stars all around! Keep up the great work! read more
