Tender Mac & Cheese Bowl Meal

Completely disgusted that I found a hair in my food after eating several bites. Im bald so I know the d*** hair didnt come from my head! Manager was happy to refund my whole order but this is beyond unacceptable!

Went here yesterday thinking it was a drive though but still decided to try it. Glad I did! I got the chicks meal, so three chicken strips, fries, and got a side of ranch. The ranch was amazing! 5 stars. Taking a star from Slims though because it was TINY! It could have been even a little bigger. The fries were yummy, nothing incredible though, pretty plain. The chicken strips were good but so skinny and small! I was so sad because they really had a great taste. I am a big Raising Canes girl but I'd say these strips had a better flavor than Canes. Just a bummer they were so small because it made the strips kind of tough and may deter me from going back. The staff was nice and I got my food quickly!! Overall a good experience. Been looking to try places here that my hometown didn't have and this was a good one. Just hope I get bugger strips next time and will ask for extra ranch because it was so good.

I used to love Slim chickens but today was disappointing. I tried the chicken sandwich for the first time and idk if it's bc shrinkflation or I just got a bad one but the filet was about two nickels thick. And that's being generous. Stick to the tenders or wings. This was terrible. Good bacon though.

We really enjoyed this place! Service was friendly. We got chicken tenders, chicken & waffles, cayenne chicken sandwich, fries, & chocolate shakes. Everything was really hot, fresh, & tasty. The honey BBQ, ranch, & cayenne ranch sauces were good. We recommend Slim Chickens!

Pass this place all the time and decided to stop and try! The resturant is clean, there's a few TVs and an outside areas. The customer service was really good I tried the chicken finger basket with fried and Buffalo sauce with toast and a peach tea. The flavor of the food was just ok. I love fried and I wish I'd selected fried pickles instead. Maybe I'll return to try the fried mushroom but this won't be a fav.

THIS PLACE FUCKING SUCKS ! The point of calling in an order is so that you don't have to wait for your food. Quick in and out. I called up here to place an order and Imani R. put the call on hold, only to never pick back up. So I called back and she picked up then set the phone down. I continued calling from multiple numbers just to see what she'd do. Never answered. I come in person and there's literally one man in the dining area, so the excuse can't be that they were busy. I place my order for all flats and just look at what I got. Her spirit and that of the new staff that have taken over this place are so NASTY. Not just that but the food isn't good at all. I expect a full refund for today. Spend elsewhere!

I've driven by multiple times and decided to give them a try, especially as they have a special on Wednesday of chicken & waffles. I walked in and the first thing I noticed was the smell of old grease but I thought to myself maybe it's just me as they had a good little crowd in there. I get to the counter and all the employees are playing and goofing around until someone said, go get that order. I place my order for the Wednesday special (which by the way I found out later that you can sub the tenders for wings but he never asked me about that) and I'm asked what else, I ask does my meal come with a drink and he says "yeah" as he hands me a cup. As I'm about to pay I ask about the jars in the cooler and I'm told they are different cheesecakes and he rambles quickly what they are. After having him repeat it, I chose one, pay and given a number to wait. I don't drink soda and was wanting lemonade however their strawberry lemonade (or that's what it appeared to be was empty) and the lemonade was on its last leg. I was going to ask but once again all the employees are in the back talking and laughing. I got my food home and this is what I think about it: the tenders are not crispy but they are moist but my issue is they lack flavor. Like they had NO FLAVOR, however I think that they think you are going to pour syrup all over it so it doesn't need flavor. The waffle was good but it was just that, a waffle. They was nothing special about it. This cheesecake that I so desired - meh. It was pieces of cheese cake tossed in a jar that had lots of room for more pieces of cheesecake. It was more shipped cream and crushed cookies than cheesecake and for the price, I guess I get a mason jar out of the deal. I can check this off the been there done that list as I don't see myself coming back any time soon.

The name may be slim chickens, but it has a fat taste. Slim Chickens is located in a bustling strip mall near one of Dallas' busiest, most popular shopping malls, Northpark. The food is good and the service is awesome. Ricky Bobby is the best! Hope you get to meet him during your visit, Food Review: Kids Chicken Tender Meal - 2 tenders lightly fried, served with soft, buttery, Texas toast and golden fried, lightly seasoned French fries and cayenne ranch dipping sauce is very good.

I love slim chickens! The service is a bit slow, but they are making everything fresh. I love how all of their sauces are made daily. You can get healthy options as well. Highly recommend slims!

We came here on a whim. A last-minute brunch decision. Nothing planned. No expectations. And what…read morefollowed was a core memory in three courses and a complimentary Bloody Mary shot accompanied by the cutest green olive. The moment we walked in, it felt like home, but not in the "kick off your shoes" way. No, this was the "you're safe here, baby" kind of home. The vibe? Cozy. Elevated. Like Restoration Hardware met someone emotionally stable. Elliott was our server and an absolute delight. Joseph was the manager, casually spreading joy like Oprah with a tray of Bloody Mary shots. Amber... now let me pause here, because this woman deserves a paragraph of her own. Amber isn't just a GM. She's the kind of soul you meet once and never forget. When I asked for her to come to our table just to pay her a compliment, we both practically teared up. She received it with open arms, no ego, no deflection, just pure, gracious presence. I was mid-sentence and suddenly I had that Creed song stuck in my head. You know the one. "With arms wide open..." That's the kind of energy she brought to the entire restaurant. Amber made every person in that room feel like they mattered. Not because it's her job, but because it's who she is. She's fresh off earning her master's in hospitality, and if that degree came with a crown, she's wearing it. The Porch doesn't just run smoothly. It runs on Amber energy. But let's talk about the moment I saw God. Cornbread Eggs Benedict: Not crab. Not salmon. Corn. Bread. And not just any cornbread. The softest, fluffiest, most cuttable cloud of golden glory I've ever had the pleasure of annihilating with a fork. A fork, not a steak knife. Do you understand how rare that is? Normally I'm out here sawing through an English muffin like I'm in a lumberjack competition. This? Melted like butter. Tasted like a hug. 12/10. Incredible. And then, as if the eggs benny enlightenment wasn't enough, Joseph reappears with a tray of free Bloody Mary shots for the entire restaurant. With olives. For everyone. The joy? Immediate. The energy? Electric. The crowd? Unified. I watched a grandmother at the next table raise her glass like the queen she is. I nearly cried. This wasn't service. This was a masterclass in human connection. Restaurants can be transactional. Robotic. This was the opposite. This was care, intention, soul. My high school principal once said: "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit of extra." The Porch brought extra, bagged it, garnished it, and served it on a tray. Final thought: If you're not brunching here, I'm concerned. If you are? I'll raise my Bloody Mary shot to you. And Amber, if you ever run for mayor, you've already got my vote. I'll run your campaign and show up in a custom t-shirt.

At first, I was a little hesitant because the menu is fairly small, but after my meal, I can see why. Every dish we ordered was absolutely a 10/10. I had the chicken with greens and shrimp fried rice, along with the fried green tomatoes and cornbread. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I honestly don't have a single negative thing to say about either the food or the service. This was an amazing dining experience, and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I do want to start with the positives. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very attentive, explained the menu thoroughly, and provided excellent service. The food also came out incredibly fast and piping hot, which is becoming rare these days. We started with the cornbread, and it was easily a 10/10. It was worth every bit of the $12. We ordered the fried chicken, greens, shrimp fried rice, biscuits, and hot water cornbread. The fried chicken was crispy and tender, but it lacked seasoning. I'd give it a 7/10. They served it with a house hot sauce, but surprisingly it had no heat and almost no flavor. I even asked the person I was dining with if they tasted anything because it was like pouring sauce on the chicken without changing the flavor at all. The greens were just okay on their own, but once we added the vinegar they became amazing. That made me wonder why the vinegar isn't incorporated into the greens from the start. The hot water cornbread had virtually no flavor. The shrimp fried rice was cooked really well, but it had an unexpected Caribbean-style seasoning that threw me off. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting, and it made it hard to fully enjoy. The biscuits were probably the biggest disappointment. They were dry and hard. One thing I also noticed is that, for a family style restaurant where you're encouraged to order several dishes to share, the tables feel too small. Once all the food arrived, there wasn't much room left, and even packing up our leftovers was awkward because of the lack of space. One standout that deserves recognition was the iced tea. It had what tasted like a subtle hint of mint and was incredibly refreshing. Easy 10/10. From the cuts of chicken we received, it appears they break down and fry whole chickens, which is perfectly fine. However, at $56 for a fried chicken that lacked seasoning, I found the price hard to justify. Maybe the cooking method or oil contributes to the cost, but I expected much more flavor for that price. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 7.5/10. Would I come back? Yes. I'd be willing to give Roots another chance and try something different from the menu. But when I hear Southern food, I expect bold seasoning and comforting flavors, and that's the one area where this meal really fell short.
