One issue was while at the counter was the guy in the cooking area who I'm guessing was the manager was being a complete jerk to the young lady who was taking my order when she was advising him of how i wanted my item. But she still managed to work thru it and get my order taken care of despite of the issue she faced with. Other than that the place was clean, the service was great. This was my second time eating Slim's Chicken but my first time at this location. Great employees and customer service but too me its just bland fried chicken. I had the 3 wing and 3 tender meal with mac and cheese and the garlic parmesean wings which were very good but the tenders seemed like they were missing something...seasoning? spice? something. I am a fried chicken expert so I can't say this is the best or worst chicken I've had but to me its just OK. I was not really in the mood for chicken last night but my friend was so we decided to check this place out! The food was fresh and delicious! They also have a cute atmosphere! I stopped by Slim Chickens after going to the TJ Maxx right next to this particular location, and while I liked the food I don't think I'll be going out of my way to come back. The tenders were juicy, but they were really, really, really, really, really small and on top of that they're pricier than other chicken tender places I've been to. I liked the choice of sauces, but you get a little itty bitty bowl so if you're sauce heavy you're going to end up short. If I had to pick a title for this review it would be "An Alternative to Cane's!" I had seen this in the spot where Sherlock's used to be and I thought, "Great, another chicken place! Just what we needed!" Yes, it is just what we needed! Cane's specialty is chicken strips. That is all they have. They don't give you a choice of quantity either. However, Slim Chickens has a variety and you can get the right amount for your appetite! I chose the Cayenne Chicken sandwich which comes with fries and a drink. I LOVE spicy and it came close but I needed more. The manager came over to ask how the meal was and I mentioned I needed more spicy. She gave me a tip for ordering for next time: instead of extra sauce on the bun have them dip the chicken itself into the sauce a couple of times. This will give me the heat I want! Cool huh? I've never had a restaurant give me tips to get what I want! They usually have a set way and no diversions allowed. Slim Chickens wants their customers to enjoy the food however they can! My Dad had the 4 the Love of Tenders basket. He dipped in Ranch mixed with Louisiana Hot Sauce (his mixture). He ate every bite! Which is rare for him so they must have been good! I washed my meal down with lemonade and he with sweet tea! The ambiance was enhanced by the Memphis Blues rocking in the background. They do offer catering options and at reasonable prices. If you download the app you get a free chicken sandwich. Then every purchase after that racks up points toward free food! My receipt garnered me 15 points right away. Only 2 more purchases and I get free food based on the point system. Who doesn't like free food? The staff was very nice and they will bring your food to the table after you order. They will also clear the table when you are done. Of course you can clear your own table cuz that would be the courteous thing to do! I am pretty sure I will be eating there a lot. I'm writing this review as I eat my chicken wings! I got the 6 piece wing, it was about 10 bucks and came with a drink, fries, and ranch. What I got was honestly just OK. The garlic Parmesan isn't really good, the buffalo is pretty tasty, the fries are good, the ranch is also good. I've eaten chicken tenders from here before and they were pretty good, but the wings were a let down. The staff is super nice! I mean super nice! I asked the guy if I could get more than one sauce on my wings and he said I could get as many as I wanted, which no one really does for you so I was very happy about that, he also checked if I needed more ranch which was very nice of him. An overall okay chicken tender place in dallas. My boyfriend got me some togo from this establishment. The chicken tenders were okay. They were very similar to raising canes except no cole slaw. The difference was it was alot cheaper too. I asked for some honey with my chicken but they forgot it so i just tried a variety of their other sauces. The original bbq sauce was my favorite. I liked their fries too, the toast was just plain buttered toast nothing like raising canes fancy hamburger bun toast. I really like this place. The menu is big enough that it might be easy to find a way to be disappointed, but their chicken strips are really really good. First, they're extremely tender. I mean they're so well cooked that the only chicken I've had that was more tender was on a salad at a Tom Colicchio restaurant that used to be at the W. which I'm pretty sure was sous vide. Add to that they've got a sauce for everyone. Unlike Raising Cane's with their pretty good chicken and their single love-it-or-hate-it mayo/ketchup "comeback sauce" variation, here you can get the same, but also BBQ, vinegar sauces, gravy, chili sauces, etc. The waffle here is a bit disappointing. It could be fluffier. It could be hotter. But it's not bad. Just not perfect like Big Momma's. This place isn't on the cheap end of pricing, but it's pretty typical given its competition. Overall there's not much I'd change. If there was a drive-through closer to me (I rarely drive more than a mile for dining unless it's date night) then they'd probably be my #1 spot for take out. read more

The food here is pretty good. My boyfriend and I both got the tenders and fries. Both were crispy and flavorful. The sauces were fine. The spicy bbq was a little too sweet for my taste but that's just a personal preference. The ranch tasted really good. Looking forward to try the cayenne ranch next time. We ordered through UberEats so our experience was a bit different than the norm. My bf wanted buffalo for his tenders but that was not a sauce option listed so he wrote it in the notes of the order. Slim Chickens called when they received the order to clarify what he wanted and were exceedingly accommodating. This was incredibly impressive and a huge high note in the experience. This is another great chicken tender restaurant! There are many different meals you can order which is nice so you do not over order. It is similar to Cane's but has more options of sauces. Their chicken is fresh, crispy and seasoned well. I tried their ranch and slim chicken sauce. Both were very tasty. However, the slim chicken sauce did not seem to have much flavor which was maybe due to the chicken having been seasoned? The Texas toast and fries have a nice flavor! Zero. The only thing that made them edible was the honey mustard dipping sauce. The toast was so soggy, it was limp. Went here with a dinner club group last night, and my first time to visit this concept. Gotta say, I loved it! The chicken was fried just right, and the number of sauces available was pretty impressive, whether you get wings or tenders. I also got the coleslaw for my side, and it was also great (that usually goes either really *wrong* or really *right* at most places). Website says they are open until 10pm. We walk in at 9:15 on a Saturday night and they are turning the TVs off....when I asked why they said they were about to close. After we order at least 20 people come in to order after us. If you don't want to be open until 10 then change your hours....don't try and push people out because you want to close early. read more
