I had not been to Golden Corral in over a decade. Buffets were never my first choice, but we gave it a shot after running out of dinner ideas. Pricing was reasonable. About $17 for an adult, $9 for a kid, and a little over $3 for a drink. The biggest issue was cleanliness. The restaurant felt dirty, and that set the tone right away. Food was inconsistent. The okra stood out. Fresh, crispy, and one of the better items on the line.Pizza missed the mark. Cold, stale, and dry. Rolls were room temperature, but at least seemed baked the same day. Pulled pork was decent. Moist, flavorful, but again not hot. Mac and cheese was standard buffet quality. Soft, processed, and served lukewarm. Fried rice had little flavor and leaned heavily on salt. Also not hot. Potato salad was one of the better options. Solid for something not homemade. The salad bar was the only area that met expectations. Cold food was kept cold. Dessert had plenty of variety. If you want sweets, you will find something. This place is not about quality. If you want good food, look elsewhere. If your goal is to eat a large amount for a low price, it serves that purpose. read more

My wife and I visited was late afternoon of March 28th 2026. We were informed the ice and cream machine were not working. Needless to say we decided on water as our beverage of choice a didn't take a glass from the soda machine as we were under a the impression the server brought us water in a different color glass. We proceeded to find a table away from the high traffic area and put our silverware and receipt on the tables as it's the customary claim to the table. We proceeded to the salad bar only to return to the table that was apparently given away to another person by the server. My wife then retrieved our receipt from the table and went to another table in the high traffic area. Here's is where it gets weird. There was two servers in the area. They both passed by us repeatedly without acknowledging us sitting there. We watched them ask all and give all tables in the area rolls and drink refills. After eating our salads and returning to the table with our main course my wife finally asked the server for some water. The server then apologized and offered to bring us water and rolls. She then brings water and claimed to forget the rolls. A few tables around us got new people who then received rolls from the same server who conveniently forgot ours. Luckily the server did clear the table after the plates were stacked 4 high. After finishing our dessert I finally decided to speak up the "management team" and said. "We must have done something to piss off those servers" because the server's behavior seemed to be discriminative towards us. Her reaction was exactly this "I didn't do anything" and asked which area it was. She was right. She did exactly nothing about our concerns about the staff's behavior. This was the worst visit I have ever experienced at this location. I hope this was an isolated incident. My next visit will be the determining factor of my continuation of patronizing this restaurant I am not giving a lowest start rating as the salad bar and food was spot on as far as a buffet goes. Visited 30 April 2023 We arrived late afternoon (after 4 pm). It was a bit packed and busy when we arrived, but then the crowd started to dissip shortly after. Although it was packed, it was not overly noisy. I think the price was reasonable and they even offer discounts for seniors and military. We got a table back near the dessert area, and Billy was the server assigned to that area. He was fairly attentive and replenished our drinks when we ran out and cleared the table of plates we were done using. I had a medium steak, and it was good, as were the fried Okra. They were hot and fresh, seemingly fresh out of the fryer. The fried chicken was also good. Hot and crispy. The Brussel sprouts were less desirable. They were soggy and overcooked. The butter rolls looked good, but I didn't eat any. The rest of the table enjoyed them. For dessert, I first tried the ice cream but didn't enjoy it. It seems that it was dairy free, but even worse, it was a bit liquidy. I also tried the cinnamon roll. The flavor was good, but since it was sitting over the heat, it got rock hard and crunchy. I couldn't eat it. Someone in my party doesn't eat pork, and it seems like a few of the items had pork: greens, green beans, and possibly the rice. It was hard to tell since some didn't have labels. We had to ask our server, Billy, who asked his manager. I think it would be beneficial to have labels with ingredients where practical. This would be especially helpful for those with allergies. I went for what I wanted and didn't realize I had missed a whole area. It wasn't until I went to the bathroom prior to leaving did I see the other area. Speaking of the bathroom, try to avoid it. Food is just okay compared to other ones I visited in the past, look at your receipt when you go there. I've been there in two separate occasions and both times we had been overcharged for drinks. First time, we were charged for water like it was a soft drink. I understand we all made mistakes, but to have the issue with getting charged again for something we did not get, it is not okay, this time I must say it was the guy standing near the guy at the register, assuming he was the supervisor and out of nowhere came to the register and press something on the register as if we were not paying the correct prize for the specialty drinks, and then had the nerve to blame it on the register"s clerk. I went to your location to have a nice quick sit down lunch buffet with my HUSBAND & friends. Due to me having gastric sleeve I ask for a to go box. I was told I was not allowed to have a box & I would be charged for a regular buffet even though I'm only going to be eating literally 6 bites! $12 for 6 bites, therefore I'm paying $2 per bite! After asking again for a box I was told after filling it I had to leave & eat outside. Completely confused at this point, I was then asked for proof that I had a surgery & they needed to see my card. I had surgery 6 year ago, I was never given a card & had no idea what they were talking about. Thankfully, after calling my doctor, I was sent a picture of the cards they now hand out showing proof with my name on it. I was then told I would be given a senior discount which knocks that $2 to $1.70 per bite. The point of going out with your family/friends is to go out! I DID WHAT I WAS TOLD AND GAVE PROOF. It is new company policy to ensure people aren't stealing food. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I'm sorry but that is completely ridiculous! I'm not here to steal your food. And if I'm being honest I would love to know what happened to it all because I remember there being a lot more of it. This is the second time I went to golden corral. My first visit was in Tampa 8 yrs ago. This location was very modern, very clean, good service. Great variety of foods and plenty of big and round customers who don't balance food with exercise. I think the next closest one is in Ft Myers. People call it trough food. I didn't think so. There is good value if you eat 2 or more plates. I had a salad and 1 plate of food plus a slice of pizza. And I was on the edge of being over stuffed. The service was great drinks were replaced often with a smile. I was only here two weeks now I wish we had one nearby. The natural potato chips were a little over seasoned for my taste. The fish seemed a little too dry. Really wanted to try the soup, bread and deserts but ran out of space. Oh well next time. read more

This evening, my wife and I dined at the Golden Corral. In elizabeth Town, kentucky. I would have to honestly say this is probably one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had the non pleasure to experience. I had a salad, which was fine. I then had mashed potatoes, some rice, and burbon chicken. ( I'm allergic to shellfish) After finishing my food, I began to experience an allergic reaction like I did have shell fish. The reaction wasn't as bad as I had consumed shellfish. But I was experiencing slight swelling of my tongue and lips and some slight issues with my throat. It didn't require any medical attention, but it was obvious there was some cross-contamination that shouldn't have happened. My wife will be leaving a Yelp comment with photos concerning the condition of the women's rest room and the extreme rudness of the manager and some of the staff. Our dining experience at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. There is absolutely no way I would ever dine there again. Our server was wonderful, and the cashier was courteous. Rest assured, I will call the county health department and notify their corporate office tomorrow. read more

We were on the road for hours so the first thing we did was use the bathroom and the lady was just going in to clean and did not even clean all the stalls and used the same rag to clean every toilet. I visit this Golden Corral regularly on the weekends around 10:00. They always have their deserts out. I am diabetic and don't eat sugar and I love their sugar free blueberry pie. Today all of the desserts are out except the sf bb pie. My spouse asks about it and the person in deserts got very defensive and the offensive about saying they are never out before 11:00. Ayer I ate breakfast I went and asked and got the same response from her. Then I talked to the owner who the server pointed out to me. He was less than interested about the issue and also became somewhat defensive. I was calm in addressing the issue with both the desert person and the owner and gave no cause for these defensive responses. The owner said that none of the deserts should be out until lunch, and I responded yet here they are. He also said that the pie was baking in the oven right then. When the pie was put out it was ice cold. I am not sure what he meant by it was baking right then. I am more offended by their responses to the issue than to the fact they changed when they put the sf bb pie out. The pie was put out around 10:50 today. Truth is I have been to Golden Corrals all over the US and the full desert array is always out at breakfast even the pie. read more

He seemed kind of irritated I even brought it to his attention. He just kind of huffed and said he would change the broccoli out and that was that. No apology or anything. I eat here almost every time I visit my parents, and I'm getting increasingly disappointed. It was a busy Saturday dinner shift after the local barbecue festival got rained out. The cashier got my folks and I three drinks but assumed I wasn't part of the bill. He snapped, "You on your own ticket?" and didn't apologize when corrected. The grill master was backed up and didn't have medium steaks to order. He graciously apologized but there was no use waiting. I settled for catfish, okra, greens, and carrots. The fish was good; the greens and carrots were horribly bland and the okra was chewy from sitting under the heat lamp. I lost my appetite. And didn't get our plates since then and walked passed us like 4 times and even checked on her other tables and got a guy a piece of pie. I not once spoke rude or even had much interaction with the lady so I feel I shouldn't have been treated like the plague anyways I finally get some and the steak is almost all fat and grizzle. It's fine I'll get something else I see they refilled the rice but it was mushy again. I finally settled on mash potatoes with gravy which was okay. The desert bar looked like a bomb hit it. Everything was picked over. I had a red velvet cup cake that tasted like it was left over from last week - very stale. I also had a slice of carrot cake & blueberry pie. Both were decent. Ice cream machine was broken so no ice cream. Perhaps I caught Golden Corral on a bad day. I arrived at 5:15 pm on a Tuesday so the rush had not hit yet. Arriving before the mad rush I expected fresher food, but I think I was eating lunch leftovers. Oh and I paid $15.13 (just me) for this crap & left hungry. For that kind of money one could have a delicious filling meal at Texas Roadhouse or any restaurant for that matter. We went there for the dinner service and after going through the line to pay, much to our surprise we had to venture out and find our own available seating. I found that to be weird for a place of that size and for the type of restaurant it is. We found us a booth, it was clean. We did have to look through several plates though to find one that was clean and did not have dried food stuck on it or food in the scratch marks on the plate. We both got steak to eat. The steak was good good and had a nice flavor to it. While eating we noticed several new people coming in and wondering around trying to find a place to sit. There needs to be someone to do that....there used to be. We noticed several butt cracks showing on the waitress... by what you want to see while you are eating. Our waitress was friendly. Upon leaving I visited the bathroom and it was a disgusting mess. Most of the toilets were full of pee or poo and unusable. Toilet paper littered the broken tiled floor, and the sinks look like someone spit all over them. We won't be going back. read more
