I have been to several Slim Chickens across the country and have never been treated rudely or acting like I was a bother. Today at the Slim Chickens in Monroe, North Carolina, I was treated rudely and as if I was a bother that I had to order food from the young lady. I ordered $30 worth of food. I ordered two desserts and she just handed them to me. I had to ask her for a bag and then she just handed me the bag without even putting the things in the bag herself. She's the girl that wears glasses. There needs to someone older watching and coaching them on good customer service and etiquette. read more

First time here and wasn't to bad. Heard about the place from someone and decided since in the area try them out. Wanted chicken tenders and wings so happy they had an option with both. Order the wings with Korean BBQ sauce. Should had them fried hard because they tasted a little undone. Really liked the dipping sauce, ranch and cayenne pepper ranch. The service was good and treated me well while dining in. Oh and the raspberry tea is a must have also. Nice venue with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Update. Management responded but didn't address any issues or offer a reason why this location is so bad now other than say they have let the new manager know. She also didn't respond with an answer to why quality and service have fallen either. Food has gone down hill. The chicken they use for their sandwich is disgusting. Too hard too even chew. I left over half of it. No breading either, what happened. The chicken strips are very good,tiny but still good with a decent amount of breading. The fries were cold and that was very disappointing because when they are fresh and hot they are great. Ordering was also an issue as if you want to sub the sauce that's on sandwich for a different sauce they have you order it without sauce then charge .39 for the different sauce. This area in Monroe is really growing and Slim Chickens is a fantastic addition. You can dine in or they have a drive thru window. They have a great menu whether you are craving chicken tenders, sandwich or wings. They even offer wraps and salads too. Oh, and don't forget a milkshake! First time trying this today. Chicken was really good and crispy but the fries could have been better. I think if I got another sauce (sweet red chili) it would have made it better. When they first opened, the hot wings were good. The last two times the wings were dry "over cooked " and no flavor. Tonight my wife had the "crispy" chicken sandwich and some de of okra, the okra was good but the chicken was anything but crispy. I could have cooked a microwave chicken breast and it would have been better. Nothing about this visit was right. I gave it 2 stars because the staff was so sweet. Order was wrong. I received tenders instead of regular original wings. The Chicken sandwich was bland, cold and very greasy. I'm posting a picture of the plate the chicken was on when I took it off the bun to heat it when I got home. I'm assuming the chicken didn't taste good because it was full of oil. The chicken strips were ok but not great. I spent $20 just to eat a few fries. Friendly staff, newly opened when we visited in July. Expectations were a bit too high for the level of the restaurant. Had in mind a higher end pub chicken place...much more a Zaxby's type establishment with drive through grocery story variety salad, under seasoned chicken strips and standard dips/sauces. Tea/drink choices (peach tea) were a welcomed divergence. However, I see this more so a place to bring your little ones after a day at the park or shopping or such. Absolutely fantastic - food and service were both top notch! My husband and I stopped for a late lunch and have found a new favorite spot. He had the buffalo tender mac bowl and loved it and he is super critical about food. I had the cayenne ranch chicken sandwich and it was fantastic (their pickles are so good). The manager checked in to make sure everything was to our liking and which is absolutely above and beyond any service you get in a comparable restaurant. Not sure why they went with two drive through lanes if they only ever intended to answer one at a time. The food is alright, but you could be the only car in line and it's gonna take 20+ minutes. They are so beyond slow it's ridiculous. And their milkshake machine is broken constantly, or so they claim, that could be something they say because they can't handle the volume of like 3-4 cars in line. Also why do the fried mushrooms come with sauce, the friend pickles come with sauce, but the fried okra doesn't and they charge you more for it?
