Great sampling any flavor you wish to try but wish they provide more service with a smile as our server was kind of dry with a straight face. We had a milkshake which tasted nice but wish they would provide bigger straws to enjoy it in full. Shake was chunky based on the flavor we picked and a normal straw given was ineffective trying to enjoy the milkshake. A spoon was needed and ruined the milkshake experience. Really hard to miss this dreamy pink Ice cream and candy parlor! Sloan's located in Clematis is one dreamy Princess like spot where you walk in and everything is Pink and vibrant . The colorful chandeliers are totally the focal point. Nice smell of freshly baked cookies the minute you walk in. Spot was not so busy and we were helped right away. The lady assisting us was not as friendly as the guy at the baked goods section. Did not catch his name but he was very attentive. We asked to try some of the ice cream and decided for a strawberry/chocolate milk shake at the end. The milkshake was really thick kinda hard to drink through the straw so we asked for a spoon. I wanted to share my experience because I left feeling disappointed by how things were handled. Ronaldo did a great job--he gave me a portion I felt was fair, and his customer service was welcoming. But when another customer--who noticed my portion--asked for the same, a different employee gave her a smaller scoop and became argumentative rather than just resolving the issue. I felt so uncomfortable that I left my ice cream behind--I didn't eat it or pay for it. That other customer, also feeling uncomfortable, left without her ice cream, too. It wasn't about the portion but the way it was handled. I truly think it was wrong of that employee to argue instead of ensuring both customers felt valued. I hope this can be a learning moment for more respectful handling in the future. read more

This is more than just an ice cream shop! They had incredible looking cookies, brownies, candy, gummies by the pound, and tons of toys. We stopped in for ice cream after dinner at a nearby restaurant. The line was long but they had at least 4 employees taking care of everyone quickly. We didn't wait more than 5-10min before we were enjoying our ice cream. I went with a sundae that included 3 different flavors (cookie dough, mint chocolate, and strawberry) of my choosing and I could pick a dry topping (snickers) and wet topping (caramel). Walking into Sloans off the script of downtown clematis West Palm beach the atmosphere seem to be uplifting and very upbeat. It is super busy and fill with customers from the front door all the way to the back of the business. The Line is always wrapped around the restaurant and back out the door with little to no organization by the employees at all. Most of the staff are young men who laugh and play instead of engaging with customers and our services. The business is not well kept and is always short staffed. Which creates in my strongly opinion a lot of the congestion and traffic issues the restaurant has. My experience was very poor and am very disappointed. I came with a small group of friends we were not greeted because the employees were business joking around with each other. We hopped in line to be serviced and waited 15 mins in line for services. Once we asked for a taste test for some of the different favors the staff member assisting Us gave Us a nasty face. He did not have any recommendations when we asked what there best sellers were. When we finally got our ice cream it had additional topping that we never asked for. After the long wait we were frustrated and had to wait an additional 5 mins for them to remake the order. The cashier even tried over charging Us for toppings we never requested and when we brought the issue to his attention he was unapologetic and rude. We were disappointed with the high prices and small portion sizes, but the ice cream itself was good. There was only one bathroom with a long line waiting the entire time we were there. A homeless gentleman finally came out and the bathroom was trashed. It appears as if he took a bath inside. People complained but there wasn't enough staff to clean up afterwards. I love Sloan's. They opened their first location in West Palm Beach in 1999. They now have other locations including City Place, Mizner Park, Doral, and Lauderdale by the Sea, and this one on Clematis Street. Parking is horrible here but since I was already parked in the city garage I just walked over. I found myself here for a pick me up after a horrendous brunch. Sloan's never disappoints. I love the pink candy colored interior and their painted ceiling. Besides ice cream they sell novelties and candy. A waffle cone with one scoop of my favorite snickers ice cream was $8. I don't even really like the candy bar but the ice cream was chock full of chocolate, caramel, and peanuts, so delicious! You can eat at one of their tables or sit in the park across the street. My toddler was craving some ice cream when we were in the area, which is a challenge being that we are raising him vegan. When I asked our server at dinner if there was an ice cream shop nearby, they mentioned that there were two Sloan's locations, about equidistant. Since I'd been to the location in Boca, I knew there was at least one or two options. When we walked in, first of all, the floor was so dirty that my feet stuck to the ground. I was happy to see that there was no line because the on in Mizner always has a ridiculous line. Well we were able to try all three vegan flavors; peanut butter, strawberry and chocolate. Chocolate was the creamiest so my husband got a small scoop of that one but my son wanted the strawberry, which was very icy, like the peanut butter. I opted for no scoops because I don't like it like that. When I got to the register and was charged $13, I was flabbergasted. For two measly scoops of ice cream and one cake cone (a whole box of which is .99). I was mad we didn't. Just opt for the banana split at that point. But I will tel you this, honestly, we won't be back at that price. Also, clean your storefront!! The bathroom was absolutely disgusting as well. read more
