Ok, I don't normally write reviews, but in this case I think I should. I set up a gutter cleaning and roof treatment. The first Saturday I waited all day and they did not show up. I called on Saturday late afternoon and had to leave a message to ask if they were coming. Sunday evening I received a call stating it was a calendar mix-up and that me and 2 other clients did not get the service, as they were scheduled to be out of town that weekend and the scheduler somehow missed that when scheduling my service. Ok, no problem, I just rescheduled for a couple weeks later. Well guess what. Again, no show. I called and left another message. Well it seems that I was never put on the schedule. So, now frustrated, I again agreed to reschedule. The worker showed up and we talked about the gutters. I have screens on top of my gutters and he suggested to take them off and leave them off because they trap stuff and it builds up. I agreed. I had to leave the house and when I came back I looked around saw screeds piled up here and there, and white powder on the roof. Great, no problem. Well while doing yard work this past weekend, I saw that there are still screens left on parts of the gutters, so not all the screens were removed. For me, if you say you are going to do something and do half a job, that is not good service. For the record, I did not call them back about this issue, I will just have my grandson take the rest of them off. I am not sure I will use this company in the future. I agree with the other bad reviews. They just left my house and if my husband had not been home they would not have done a complete service. He had to ask them to do our back gutter, and then they told him they did not treat the roof. He made them go back up and do the treatment we had paid for. I purchased the Groupon and about 2 weeks before the appointment they emailed with a bill for an extra 100.00 they said it was a danger fee for a town house height. I paid it because I did not want the hassle of getting someone else. There are a lot of companies that do this service and so just find someone else. We are going to go back to the guys who did it last year, the Groupon did not save us any in the long run. read more

I found this company through Groupon. When I called, the woman I spoke with was very helpful and nice. We were able to agree on a day when I could be home. They did show up a bit late, but once here got right to work. I had my gutters cleaned and a roof treatment. The gutters were bad and Chris got all downspouts and filters cleaned. Chris even washed my deck skylights and solar tube domes that were mossy. I also had my patio and driveway pressure-washed. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they cleaned to the end of my driveway pad (I have blacktop to the road) and left a circle of crud around the edges instead of sweeping up the chunks and hosing it down a bit. Had to clean it up myself. Also, when blowing the roof off they didn't clean up the debris on the exposed decking below. Some minor clean up on my part which I think they should have taken care of. All in all, for the price and how things look I will have them back. Chris also guaranteed my price for next year which is cool. read more

I found Sloan's on Groupon years ago. I just booked my fourth consecutive yearly cleaning with them. I haven't personally met Chris, but last year my mother was staying with me when he came to do the roof/gutter cleaning and moss treatment. She said he very nice. Even though I haven't been home when he has done the job, I have always been happy with the results. Will continue to use Sloan's, as they have always done what they said they would do at a very reasonable price. I've used them twice. The first time, he didn't explain what he did, so I didn't know why there was white stuff left on my roof. This time, he explained it without me having to ask. We used a Groupon to have Sloan's clean our roof and gutters and treat the roof for moss. They did a nice job on the roof and gutters. They scheduled their visit and showed up when they said they would. The roof and gutters were cleaned well and a teatment was added to the roof. They did charge me a small amount for being over their standard 2500 square foot size ($10 per 100 square feet I believe), which was reasonable. They also dismantled and cleaned a couple of downspouts that were extremely clogged for and additional $25 each, which I thought was reasonable. I wasn't impressed with their clean up. The flower beds, decks and drives around the home were quite messy when they were finished. I was told that total clean up and removal of the debris blown from the roof was not part of their scope of work. All in all, a decent experience. I would use them again, depending on their price without the Groupon. I have used other roof cleaning services before that did a much better job of clean up, but were higher priced. Edit 2017. I had them again clean my roof and gutters. This time they did clean up the mess on the ground somewhat. They swept it up into piles, but didn't remove it. That's good enough for me. For the price they're charging ($185 I think), I'm happy to haul it away. read more

Half assed business. Took over two months to arrange an appointment when I was home. They kept telling me I did not need to be there. I kept insisting I did!. We finally agreed on a time and date. I had purchased their gutter clean, roof treatment, pressure wash deal. I got off work early and drove home. My wife was there an hour before me. They were to come at 4:00 PM. By 5:15 I called there office. They told me he had come by earlier and was all finished! I explained that my deck and driveway had not been cleaned. I was told the owner would call me by 6:00 PM. he did not! The next day I called again. Was told they finished a job early and just came by to do my house. When I asked why he had not completed the job. he said the work order just said gutter clean, even though we had exchanged 20 or more emails trying to get a date. He then said I had a car in my driveway and stuff on my deck, so he couldn't clean them anyway. I TOLD HIM I NEEDED TO BE HOME TO MOVE THE CAR AND THE STUFF ON MY DECK! If he showed up on time, it would not have been an issue. My other concern was that I have an old dog, who is partially sited and I was worried he might let him out of the yard. Luckily, that did not happen. I have no proof he treated my roof, It has taken weeks to sort out a refund as he could not make it back when I was home, I would not trust these clowns. The workers also came by without warning and unscheduled the next day and went into our back yard without our consent to pick up some equipment they forgot. They also argued about the service when asked whether they were going to do the agreed upon task. The way they do the group on is a scam. They are not paying group on its share for the advertisement. Disappointing. They did not come to the first appointment scheduled and when they came back during a time we were not home they did not do what we had asked, and the places they did pressure hardly looked like they did a good job. We had to actually call the company and ask what he did while there since we could not tell. Waste of time. In response you are right there was a toddlers bike and ball on the patio. I can see how that would be difficult to work around. The patio has access from both sides one with a gate and one with out. I'm not sure what stopped you from pressure washing the brick on the house but that's ok. The list of excuses explains the lack of quality. Horrible customer service. Called to inquire about purchasing The Groupon for gutter cleaning and roof blowoff service. When I called I gave the woman, Chris's wife, my information address phone number etc. She said she need it so she could look at a street view of my home to see if my roof was the size included in the Groupon deal... after she said it would qualify, I told her I would think about it, talk to my husband and let her know when and IF I wanted to schedule. About a month later my husband Heard someone on our roof. When he went outside to inquire it was Chris from Sloans, finishing the service to our roof and gutters... Chris explained he was there to complete our service that I had requested. The problem is that not only did I not purchased the Groupon, I never call back to schedule the service or even confirm that I wanted these people to do the service on my home. Apparently the gentleman, Chris, who came out to do the service didn't know we had not purchased the Groupon or already paid for the service, and said that we would be invoiced. When I returned that evening, and my husband informed me of what had happened, I immediately called Sloans to find out what is going on. The same woman I spoke with about a month prior answered, and I explained that I did NOT, schedule or request them to service my home. She rudely insisted that I did. She argued with me and was completely unwilling to take responsibility for her mistake. Had she have been even the slightest bit sorry or apologized for her mistake that would've been nice. I didn't feel like I should have to pay for the service, being that I did not at any point schedule the service with them. Even though she insisted I did. Bottom line, the customer service was horrible and although Chris was very friendly at our home, the job was only so-so and he left a ton of debris all over our grass,driveway, planting beds and flower gardens from the gutters that he did not clean up. Absolutely horrific experience with this company. Purchased their roof cleaning, gutter cleaning and roof treatment through Living Social. Chris spent about 15 minutes at my house, and simply blew the crud out of the gutters onto my house. He didn't clean the gutters on my garage, and didn't even bother to clean my back gutters. Additionally, he only applied the "treatment" to the roof line. He didn't bother to apply the treatment to the affected areas. We found this company on Groupon but the deals were all sold out. Went ahead and called them and was quoted a very reasonable rate. We'd recently purchased our house, and though the home owners swore they'd had the gutters professionally cleaned, water has been pouring over the tops. The gentleman who came out was extremely professional, cleaned our walkways for us, explained the work he had done and even managed to clear out 3 completely clogged drain spouts. I bought a Groupon for gutter cleaning and roof treatment I was happy with the work and I asked for a quote for some additional work I needed I got a prompt fair quote and we easily worked out the details. I supplied some materials and I was short but Chris said no problem I have some in my shop I will get it and comeback to finish the work. He offered a very reasonable price for the additional materials. Chris noticed that there was still some green moss so he treated the roof again and said give a call if it looks like it may need it again. I will use this company again for work at my moms house.
