Such a cute donut shop! I love how it was decorated with the Halloween theme. I actually enjoyed looking at the decorations because they really put in a lot of work into giving it a horror vibe. They have such cute looking donuts that you just don't want to eat it! My husband and I decided to order chai cream cheese, strawberry cheesecake, cereal killer, chocolate pillow, apple fritter, and coffee crunch. The donuts were delicious and fresh! I wasn't a big fan of the cereal killer because the cereal was a bit stale. It's a great donut shop with great employees! I would come here more often if I'm ever in area again. read more

This and Bob's Donuts in SF are my favorite donuts. Ever. The vegan donuts were incredible. The snickerdoodle donut was fantastic. Just try anything, it will be worth it. The board games and reading material inside are a nice touch. read more

Absolutely love! Nothing is crazy about their donut except that they have unique flavors. The servers are mostly college students so has a very young vibe. There is no wrong choice. The donuts were so good and fresh. My new favorite thing is the chocolate pillow. It is a chocolate chip filled donut, topped with chocolate & more chocolate chips. I will have to dream about it until I take another trip through SLO. read more

Lots of unique, colorful and decorated students. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy the donuts, a few murals on the walls to study. Looks like a young, energetic staff, probably CalPoly students or young entrepreneurs. Get if the freeway and enjoy their donuts and coffee! read more

I love coming here! Great donuts, reasonably priced and awesome awesome AWESOME staff! Jack is great! He helped my boyfriend and I picked some great choices and we did not feel rushed or pressured to hurry up and pick even though there was a line behind us! Wish there were more of the donuts benefitting Kristen Smart scholarship but nonetheless we got some yummy treats:) read more

One of the employees (African American male) kicked me out during finals week because I brought my mini e-bike indoors. I explained to him that the bike was very expensive and i asked him politely if i could keep it indoor in the corner where it wouldn't be in anyone's way. But he was very rude and not at all in a professional manner to talk to a customer. To quote, he said "The answer is HELL NO, get your bike out or leave to find another place, cuz I'm fine with that". I asked him if he is the manager but he did not answer to my question, and he kept saying that I had to leave. He was also talking trash about me to other Cal Poly students sitting nearby (I could tell that they were just as uncomfortable as me about his behavior) as I gave up and started packing my stuff to leave. I've brought my bike in many times before because it is a small sized foldable vehicle and I never had to deal with this kind of issues before. As a local, I've been going to slo doco since I was a kid and I have loved the donuts and the vibes. But this incident brought a tremendous amount of stress and bad memory of the place I loved the most. I certainly hope this does not happen again next time I visit. read more

The perfect place to conquer your sweet tooth and study at 3am! Gluten-free and vegan donuts? THANK YOU. Customer Service: 5/5 The staff there is super friendly no doubt. I've been here numerous of times and they're always happy to help you out. I've also contacted them via email regarding a custom bulk donut order and even though there were some mishaps on my end, they were still very happy to help us decide on how to go about our custom order with the budget we had. Local businesses really do care about their customers!! Donuts: 4/5 SLODoCo is a fan favorite when it comes to donuts in SLO. It's well-known among Cal Poly students for a reason! I'm more of a classic donut kind of gal, but I live for the selection of donuts they offer. Whenever there's a holiday, all their donuts are themed on that which is adorable. I usually eat a glazed donut when I'm here and on occasion I would try a specialty. The glazed donut is usually on point and something like the Milk And Cookies donut is super yummy. All the donuts seem to have close to perfect amount of sweetness. I don't feel sick from eating it which means it's made well. My favorite donut would be the lavender donut they have, it's light and refreshing! Overall, the donuts are worth the price. We were visiting and drove all the way across town because the online pics of the donuts looked amazing and we were wanting something sweet. Sadly they were not amazing. 2 stars because they are very cute! We tried 4 different ones. The donuts all were so hard and cakey not donut texture. There donuts are really delicious! Smaller than usual ones you get at your mom and pop shops but still the flavors are really good. Service there is a hit or miss, especially during the evening hours which I understand working at 11pm is not ideal. Sometimes they can be cranky or you'll sometimes get them in their good moods. All in all good food and a great place to get your coffee or tea and sit and enjoy your snack while studying since they have plenty of tables and restrooms. The only down part of going later at night is that they don't have any of the popular donuts like maple bars or raised glazed ones so mornings are the best time to go if your only wanting a specific one. read more

All I can say is WOW! Some unique stuff here! Get the Cinnabomb if you can... omg so good! The kaleidoscope donuts or galaxy donuts or whatever they are called are pretty but way too sweet for me. If you like sweet you might like these? Apple fritters are not greasy and are amazing. I even thought their old fashioned donuts were the best I've ever had! You can't go wrong here IMHO. This donut shop is a must try. Every time I come down to SLO to visit, I insist on coming here for the donuts. They have a great variety of unique donuts to choose from and each time I've gone, I don't know what I'm going to end up with. They're even hiring right now and want bakers to experiment and try new things. On this trip I ordered a donut that was essentially a baked Alaska with a deep fried ding dong inside. 24/7 donuts that are always tasty, always fresh and always look amazing. The creative bakers always have a fun twist on the classic donut. There is something for everyone. My favorite is the peanut butter stuffed donut dipped in chocolate with peanut butter chips on top. It's amazing! The most unique flavor I've tried there is the lavender, it tasted just like lavender smells. The flavor was very noticeable and I oddly enjoyed it. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Sometimes there selection is low depending on how much traffic they've had or time of day/night but there is always something yummy to try. They have theme nights where you can come watch a movie and have a donuts inspired by the movie. They have local bands preform at times and other events at the shop. It's a local college hot spot for a late night study session but also is a great family place too. This isn't your typical donut shop, and the prices will be more than a chain shop but the quality is there. read more

Passed through here on vacation and was WOWed to the max! They have so many flavors that it's so hard to make a decision so I left with a box. Left with a marshmallow galaxy, Nutella filled, thai tea and a few others I'd usually get at any other donut shop. It must be their dough because with in a few bites I'm already in love and sad to depart ways with this donut shop. Asked the employee and they mentioned their top sellers are the Nutella and maple bacon. If you're ever in the area or passing through make sure you stop by this donut shop. I thought I didn't like donuts until I came here. The donuts are delicious and they have an amazing selection and variety of flavors. They also do really cute designs and have great coffee and drinks. I love their chai latte. The employees are always very kind and patient. I walk in and have to go to the side to look at all the flavors for a few minutes before deciding because there are so many. I brought my bf here and he loves it too. He always gets the donut holes. We wanted coffee or matcha at 10:30pm and found this place. They're open until midnight. Excellent service from a friendly staff. Told us the donuts were just made. So we ended up buying donuts as well but only went for the classic ones. I ordered hot chocolate but got mocha instead. It's okay I love mocha anyway. They can sub oats for your beverage. Took a bite of the chocolate ring while my husband was watching me for my reaction. Oh my gosh it's so good and so fresh. We bought a dozen donuts so had left overs. Almost a day old chocolate ring was still okay but not as good as a fresh one. I guess this is what you get when your husband tries to get you custom donuts for your birthday. Can't even be bothered to make it cute or write out birthday all the way. Jessi and Jake Pickering are kind of the cool kids in town. They surf, they're nice, and they have great taste. So, Jesse and Jake started a donut shop that embodied their personal style, and put their passion for excellence into developing some of the world's most perfect, most creative donuts. They sell locally roasted, ethically sourced coffee and espresso that is custom blended for SLODoCo (and delicious). The boysenberry pillow stole my heart, Soft and rich, a dreamy cosmic feast. The old-fashioned too, a simple work of art, Elegance itself, to say the least. Though others didn't shine quite as bright, The chai cream cheese and maple missed, But even so, compared to most, the bite Still left me craving what I couldn't resist. The pumpkin spice was pleasant, though not grand, And lemon jelly tried, though it fell flat. Yet lavender gluten-free, so light and bland, Still ranks above most doughnut shops I've sat. Then came the devil's food, a bitter bite, But better still than many I've had before. The mint, though cold, did not extinguish light-- A taste unique, worth giving one more score. Perfect late night munchies spot. The great thing about SloDoCo is that it's open 24/7, so it's really one of the few places to grab a quick bite to eat when it's 2 in the morning. The donuts are absolutely delicious; I've only tried the chocolate pillow (literally a chocolaty chocolate pillow), the maple bacon bar (my favorite - tastes just like pancakes and maple syrup), the peanut butter pillow (too much PB for me), and a bunch of different sprinkled or plain donuts. I usually try to keep it somewhat "healthy" by just getting a small maple covered old fashioned donut; their old fashioned donuts have great chewy texture and taste. The environment of this donut shop is very casual and inviting; usually tons of college students hanging out or people studying/on their laptops (free wi-fi!). The staff is very friendly and polite, always asking you how your day was; if you follow them on twitter or facebook, they have daily contests where you can get yourself a free donut! A bad experience can cost businesses revenue and lost customers. Poor customer service creates a ripple effect, damaging a brand's reputation. For many people, faith is a core component of their identity. It is probably best to err on the side of caution and not express opinions on religion, especially in front of customers. During a recent visit, one of your staff made several disparaging remarks related to a coworker's beliefs. Your employees cannot assume that any comments, so long as they're directed at a coworker's religion, cannot be harmful to customers. Christianity is the most dominant religion and has been for centuries. SloCo should consider training staff on customer service and proper etiquette when attending to customers. The success of a business relies on several factors, most importantly, how a customer feels after they leave. read more

Really Like the buttery croissants , but really the place needs better customer service! I'm very disappointed today ( Oct 14th, 2015 ) at around 9 am went in for my favorite donuts. we ordered a large cup of coffee, but I accidentally spilled half of it all over myself, from the high counter. I was charged for another cup, two more dollars for a small, they threw me a rag and said wipe it up off the floor and counter for myself. RUDE! It spilled all over my new clothes, and they would rather me wipe their floor then the coffee off of me. They did ask me if I got burned.. On an escape weekend from the Bay Area we wandered into the newly opened Active donut shop because hubby loves coffee. Friendly welcoming staff create a comfortable environment. They serve a menu of drinks with a cloud which is homemade cotton candy. This is quite popular in Asia for the goodies. Hubby had his standard cappuccino with two shots. I always ask him to rate the drink on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best coffee drink he has ever had. This was 8 to 9. 10 for him is having cappuccino in Italy. High bar! The owner was there and he asked us if we liked the coffee so I told him about the rating. He was thrilled. We returned the next day for another coffee and donuts look forward to coming back. read more

I have to respectfully disagree with most here: these donuts are very heavy, the dough just isn't light or fluffy like how a donut should be. Tastes like you're eating bread. Couldn't stop chewing the damn thing. Beyond that thanks for making all the donut shops raise prices bc of you guys. I feel bad writing this bc the staff is nice and I'm sure the business owners mean well, I just wish you'd take a look at just how heavy the dough is in your products and stop raising prices year after year for the same product. If you want a real, lightweight donut made by Asians who are master bakers go to Sunshine Donuts. But thanks to these guys I gotta to pay a $1.25 per donut when it used to cost $0.85 two years ago. read more

Hands down the best donut spot in San Luis Obispo! Everything here is always fresh, and you really can't beat the value for how great the quality is. My absolute favorite has to be their maple bars--they are soft, incredibly fresh, and perfectly made every single time. Beyond the amazing pastries, the staff is super friendly and welcoming, making it an even better place to hang out or get some work done. SloDoCo is just a fun place to grab a nice variety of donuts. Before Covid they would have live music and comedians, but for the time being it is easy to swing by and pick something up. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon because it is such a great place to hang out, meet friends, or study, but in the meantime it is easy to pick up something and it feels safe with the limited people allowed inside, hand sanitizer at the door, and distancing between customers. It is nice to still enjoy the array of donuts and pastries while waiting to be able to chill inside again. It is kind of a requirement to visit SloDoCo if you are a Cal Poly student. read more

Excellent donuts and shop...My family and I came in the morning and tried the Nutella, Boysenberry, and one of those new docro things. All 3 were some of the best donuts ive had...unique, not too oily, and just the prime amount of fillings. The coffee was also delicious. The reason for the 3 stars is the rude service. We were helped by an unhappy girl of red-ish hair with visibly forced politeness...I felt we were bothering her by simply being there. Other customers before us seemed dumbfounded as well. I love coming to this place for studying late at night. As a college student, it's really hard to find places besides the library to study late so this place is a great option for that. I have been coming in a lot more recently and always have such a good experience. The music is always really good and the customer service is always great. The past two times I came a girl Miranda helped me and she was so friendly and genuinely seemed like she liked her job which is hard to come by. Donuts are good, but slow customer service. Always takes forever to get a donut. I have actually walked out a few times because I didn't want to wait in line 15 minutes for a donut. They need more help at the counter. One time I came in and there were a bunch of kids working in back who didn't come to the front to help us in line. Also, my favorite donut is always out.
