I'm not big on sports bars but we were in the vicinity and needing refreshment, so I Yelped a place we hadn't tried yet. This is a cavernous establishment with very high industrial type ceilings and unquestionably a sports bar: giant screens everywhere, local and regional team posters and neon signs galore, electronic darts, 12 beers on tap, signature shots and cocktails, and a menu of deep fried apps, burgers, sandwiches, wings and "pizza" along with a few entrees and salads. I had a BLT with fries and my husband had the Reuben with tater tots. Fries and tots were okay, nothing special. Sandwiches were good and generously filled though I thought the toast on the BLT was a little dry. The barmaid was also serving several tables and she did a good job keeping up. There was a slightly raised stage area at the front and I believe they have occasional entertainment; caution, this includes kareoke. I didn't observe any pool tables. I get the feeling it's pretty loud in here when busy. As far as sports bars go, recommended. read more

The chicken chunks were overcooked, dry, stringy, and tough. I've had them before when they were tender and moist. Bottom line: because they have poor quality control, You through the dice and take your chances. Service was average. Ambiance is inviting to those who don't care about the quality of the food. read more

This place didn't have great reviews but all the reviews were very old so we gave it a shot. We were in town for our nephews baseball game. We were pleasantly surprised. It wasn't very busy being a Wednesday night, but the vibe was good. Typical sports bar. TVs and lots of dart boards. Decent sized bar. Lots of cocktail and shot options. The burgers are huge. They are half pound each. Flame grilled. Everything we had was delicious. I got the beer cheese burger. The beer cheese was delicious. The fries were very good. My husband had the mushroom and Swiss. Loved it. My nephew got the Philly and it was delicious too. I got a wild berry mule. Delicious. Cold beer. We would definitely go back! read more

In town for the Darke County Fair. Stopped after Food was pretty good for bar food. Service wasn't the best

Excellent food and service. Have had pizza, burgers, taco salad, and subs. All tastes great and service is spot on. Clean restaurant/bar.

Worst meal we have ever had from here. I knew this place was going down hill but... Dang! Ordered pretzels with beer cheese and Philly fries. The beer cheese was so burnt and clumpy it was inedible. The Philly fries were ordered with no green peppers. It showed up with green peppers and so stuck to the paper that a third of the cheese, fries, etc was inedible. Could not peel the paper off of food. Money wasted. Do not waste your time or money on this place. They are definitely not holding themselves to any kind of standard these days. read more

This place has really gone downhill since being allowed to reopen. Little to no social distancing, enforced and staff not wearing masks. Kitchen staff can't seem to understand, a plain hamburger and fresh cut fries. read more

First time coming to Sloopy's. Our starter was dill pickle chips which were hot, crisp and came with a delicious sauce. For our main dish we both had Mushroom & Swiss burger. It came on a Kaiser bun. The cheese and all ingredients were so fresh and tasty. We had a Moelller Brew Barn draft which was a great way to wash it down! We'll be back! read more

My friends and I were in town for the races and we went to Sloopy's on 9/24/22 around midnight because it seemed to be the only thing open in the area. 3 of the 4 of us had been drinking all night and wanted a nightcap. I walked in and ordered a beer at the bar while my wife, brother and friend wandered in after me and was asked what they wanted to drink. They were looking for a table and since we're from out of town and have never been there, they didn't know what was on tap or what they wanted. Apparently they didn't respond quick enough because the blonde bartender yells to them that they are "being pussies" and she can't "help if they're just going to be a bunch of pussies." My wife, brother and friend all looked at each and asked what the heck just happened and was she really talking to them. The blonde walked away from the bar. The boys ended up ordering drinks from the other bartender. Within a couple of minutes, a guy with a STAFF shirt came out from the back and stood next to the bar and nonchalantly watched us! It was the craziest thing! All the other patrons were also staring. I hope it was because they couldn't believe that the bartender called us pussies but who knows. Maybe we didn't look like locals. We drank our beers and left, never to return. The pricing was great and it seemed like a clean place but if I'm spending my hard earned money on vacation, I don't think it's cool to be called names just for not ordering a drink within seconds of walking into an establishment that we've never been in. If she doesn't like working in customer service, she should find another job. On a side note, we went to lunch the next day and asked a waiter at the restaurant what he thought of Sloopy's and he said the customer service is horrible and he'd never go again. Sounds like we weren't the only ones unhappy with the place. read more

Don't show up thirsty unless waiting to be served a drink is your style. Atmosphere needs some revamping. Staff also needs a lot of training when it comes to customer service. Will not be back. read more

It was pretty good I had the original and chips. Price is reasonable. It is the place to go when visiting that part of Ohio.

Worst experience I've had there. We EVEN DINED IN the chicken chunks were discounted too .60 cents each the waitress said before we ordered. Ok cool I ordered chicken chunks and the other party did as well. We also had the combo platter which was alright. From experience we knew the combo platter doesn't re heat at all. So we decided too eat that first. When it was time too leave we had another employee come over and tell us oh you didn't eat your chunks. WE WILL NEED TOO UPCHARGE YOU. She wasn't joking. She made a deal about it being only dining in.. AGAIN WE WERE DINING IN. Those were leftovers. She proceeded too say leftovers are 2 or 3 chunks left. After this transaction and he fact she said it was DINE IN only when in fact we were sitting at a table and ate there that she made mention you have too watch how many you take home!! Crooked establishment. Also the exterior of the building needs upkeep. Won't be coming back too Sloopy's after this and will tell others about this experience I had. read more

We went in to enjoy a birthday celebration and found out it was .50 wing night. Great! My teenage boys ordered their typical amount of wings and ate 2/3 of them. When I received my bill, the establishment had charged an extra $10 for the remaining wings that we put into a to go box. At no time did either of the two waitresses explain their "rule." Apparently, the price only applied to the wings you eat inside. When I told them how displeased I was, they said, "it is stated in the menu." Their lack of customer service was horrid. Their service was also extremely slow, even though the place was almost empty. I mentioned that I wouldn't be back and the bar manager rolled her eyes and said that was my decision. read more

It is exactly what I expected. It's a trashy "sports bar". Went with a group of co workers on St. Patrick's day. I understand that the place would be busier than usual but it seems like they only had two employees working. The waitress who was very nice took our order. 15 minutes later she came and asked what I ordered. Everyone's food came but mine. It arrived 20 minutes later after going to the bar to remind them. When I received my chicken basket it was hot and really pretty good. They took one of my drinks off the bill so I guess its alright. I would never come here on my own and don't plan on coming back very soon. read more
