Pork Chop Medallions w/green beans & mashed potatoes
    Rhonda M.

We stopped in to try this place while visiting Greenville. We were seated immediately & the server took our drink order. The menu states their burgers are fresh/never frozen so I ordered the Quarterback burger with cheddar cheese which comes with kettle chips. I asked for a slice of onion since it didn't come with that. Hubby got the Pork Chop Medallions with 2 sides, mashed potatoes & green beans. Our food came out in about 15 minutes. My burger was served with 2 onion rings on top but they tasted a bit burned. My burger was delicious & had plenty of fresh toppings. Hubby really enjoyed his meal. I tasted it & it was divine. Hubby's Pepsi tasted flat but they quickly brought him another which was better. I liked that we paid our bill at the table on the server's hand held computer so my credit card doesn't leave my sight. (I've had at least 2 bad experiences with that.) I would return to this restaurant when in the area.

Meh...service is very subpar. I'm a very patient person but when people are asking me who the bartender is then there's an issue. Food...basically a salt lick. I came here in hopes of a step above the fast food joints in town, pretty much the same quality here. Yes I don't do cheese on my steak sandwich, a sin to some but at the same time you can see the quantity and quality of the actual meal. Bottom line, 2 stars based on the fact I was expecting real food. Had this been a fast food place or chain my expectations would have been different.

    Grilled chicken salad, no cheese.

Grilled chicken salad was delicious. The chicken was tender and tasty and the salad was fresh. My friend's burger and fries looked and smelled and tasted amazing. Generous side of broccoli was cooked al dente. We'll be back!

The party room is cool. Love it when we get seated back here!

Black Angus Caesar Salad... It was just. Okay but the dressing was very light and the steak was cut up very small.

Food is overpriced and not cooked properly. Service is poor, slow , the management needs better training in customer service.

This place is good not great. Hard to find somewhere to eat in Greenville. Don't order the wings wet or you'll get a bowl of sauce!

Unfortunately, the larger dining room on the other side is the complete opposite--sterile, plain, and uninspired. It could really benefit from a decorator who could bring it in line with the vibe of the bar and outdoor areas. 17 West positions itself as the nicest (and essentially only upscale) restaurant in the New Bremen area, but it falls short of that goal. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Salad sandwich with mashed potatoes. What arrived was a croissant that looked like it came straight from the IGA bakery, topped with a single sad leaf of lettuce and a thin, pale tomato slice. The chicken salad was scooped with what appeared to be an ice cream scoop and simply plopped onto the bread. The result was a bland sandwich with almost no spice or flavor. The mashed potatoes were presented the same way--scooped and unappealing. Overall, the presentation was cafeteria-level at best, and I've had better sandwiches in hospital cafeterias. My wife ordered the Firecracker Chicken. Her side salad was tiny and unremarkable, and while the chicken leg itself tasted decent, it was still just a sauced chicken leg. At $22, it felt significantly overpriced. 17 West likely wouldn't survive in a larger city with real competition. In the New Bremen area, however, it benefits from having very little rivalry, which allows it to stay in business despite the clear mismatch between its prices and the quality and presentation of the food.

At the western edge of Ohio is the town of Greenville, home to the Green Wave, an awesome consignment store, and one of the most delightful restaurants I've ever been to - Jack's Cabin. Co-owned by Jeremy (J) and Carisa (C), and staffed by their son Austin (A) and Kaylie (K), this is the quintessential family restaurant. I enjoyed their corned beef and eggs, amazing fried flounder and cod - and before heading out from my two day respite in Greenville - their Philly Cheesesteak Skillet. Every dish was a hit, hot, and the perfect comfort foods were one to camp indoors. And like a true family restaurant, I felt fair prices all around, such that I kept coming back and tipping in turn instead! Alongside the black bears that peek all around the room, each table also has a personalized figurine featuring camping awesomeness like fishing, wildlife, and just a general vibe of nature. And hey, with $3.50 Yeunglings, I may have found Baltimore's Ohio sister city. Thank you Jack's Cabin for the amazing, entertaining experience. And Congratulations on your engagement, Kaylie!!!

They were in the fryer so long they were practically charred. The cole slaw seemed almost puréed. My wife ordered grilled chicken tenders. They came out fried and overly cooked. She thought at first bite that they were fish because of the taste. I ordered fish, so it is obvious that everything was fried in the same basket. And the grease/oil has needed to be changed for quite a while. My fish tasted bland and mostly if burnt oil. The fries were over saturated and tasted just like the bland fish. My mother ordered a tenderloin sandwich that also looked burnt to a crisp. Lesson learned here: order NOTHING that goes into a fryer. And apparently order nothing grilled, because it will get fried, too. The wait staff was brand new and was having some trouble figuring out our order. There didn't seem to be any shadowing or training happening. It took a long time for our main dishes to arrive. We did like the unique decor and overall appearance of the restaurant, but that's about the only thing I can give them credit for.

We ordered the small plate of buffalo milk burrata- who knew that dish could be so delicious. The grapefruit paired perfectly with the flavors of the herbs and the creamy burrata provided a great depth of flavor. Filet mignon was seasoned perfectly and cooked exactly as requested. The crisp potatoes were a delightful addition to the dish. The walleye was moist and had a wonderful crispy skin. The pickled onions provided a nice acidity to the dish paired with the blueberry sauce which was absolutely my favorite! The cornbread was a little dry but that's my only criticism from the entire dinner. For dessert we ordered the lemon blueberry meringue. All the best flavors in a large enough portion for three people to share. They even provided complimentary chocolates which our 5 year old devoured! Would absolutely revisit!

Versailles is about 20-25 minutes away and Silas was worth the trip for their Sunday morning brunch. For starters, its very cost effective at $15/head with a buffet featuring french toast casserole, herbed eggs, coffee cake, bacon, etc. The space is gorgeous - from the lighting to the floor to ceiling windows to the fact that they have Molton Brown soap in the bathroom (luxxxxurrry). Overall, the brunch was a very smooth and lovely experience topped off with a solid coffee menu. I opted for the drip coffee - wish I knew where there beans were from? Guessing local-ish based on the quality. My only complaint was that they had a hard time keeping the buffet options full so it was hit or miss when you'd go up to the bar. Minor feedback. Look forward to visiting for lunch or dinner in the future!
