I went to Jeff Weidmann as an acupuncturist starting about 5 years ago at another location and he helped me with some physical ailments and I loved his manner and positive demeanor. I found out that he had opened his own place thru his wife (not knowing they were a couple) and dragged my feet for a while to get over there. Why??? I am once again thrilled to be under his care. He is attentive to your concerns and also gives very good advice on lifestyle tweaks to help improve whatever ails you. I left feeling rested and energized. Acupuncture is wonderful with the right therapist. Slope Wellness also sells his wife's La Rose organic scrubs and teas that I have used for a while now and a super fan. I trekked from Manhattan to come here (at 9am cause that's what they had available) and when I showed up they had accidentally canceled my appointment and told me they were full and couldn't see me. I get it. We all make mistakes. But they in NO WAY offered to make it right. They simply had a kind of "whoops" attitude and said "this sometimes happens. Someone calls to cancel and we cancel the wrong person." My feeling is if you screw up, you should offer the person some sort of discount to make it right. Just as I was about to leave someone working reception offered to swap out and give me a massage. He did a good job, but the fact that they screwed up and didn't in that moment offer anything to make it right on my behalf left a really bad taste in my mouth. read more

I went to Slope Wellness for acupuncture treatments when I was pregnant and found it to be a very good experience. The treatments helped a great deal with my hip pain, and also to induce labor when I went overdue. I was treated by Jeff who seemed very knowledgeable and was sensitive in adapting the treatment to the needs of a stressed out pregnant lady! The staff at the front desk were great - very friendly - and the rooms are all very clean. Also, they accepted my insurance (Oxford) which helped with the cost of the treatments. Slope Wellness is a lovely addition to the mid-Slope area. The space is minimalist, peaceful and clean. The lobby has an attractive display of beautiful pottery and homoepathic remedies. I have gotten 4 massages at Slope Wellness (training for the NYC Marathon has been brutal for the muscles!) and each therapist has been superb. Jeff, Amy and Lisa all are exceptional massage therapists, listening closely to my massage needs. They were running a marathon special, with discounts on the one hour massage. Importantly, scheduling a massage has been relatively easy, with a response to my calls coming very promptly after my call was placed. I've attended Slope Wellness for 6 months. The atmosphere is friendly and waiting room is cozy. I have to say that every massage I've had was top notch. I've had multiple trigger points in my upper back and neck for years and needed a really good deep tissue massage. At the same time every once in a while I just wanted a relaxing (Swedish-type) rub. The therapists are very accommodating, but I have to single out Eric. He has an amazing touch and locates tender points with pin-point accuracy. With him you don't get customary "mirror-image" massage (same maneuvers on both sides of the body) - he customizes it as needed. His amount of pressure always seems to be right. Its a natural gift! That being said, all the therapists are wonderful. Massage tables are comfortable and heated as needed. And finally a face cradle that doesn't make my face numb after 1 hour! For frequent customers a membership is a good way to go - you save money. And - oh yeah! - there's a free Wi-Fi!! Overall, excellent place and super-convenient location right next to a subway train station and a bus stop. read more

I called at 5pm and was able to get a 6:45 appt for the same day. Great!!! From the phone call to the reception area the lady (I didn't get her name was super sweet). I was offered water or tea while I waited. My massage therapist was Julia. Can we say amazing?! She asked questions about where I am tense, daily routine, light conversation. She worked wonders on my super tense shoulders and painful lower back. She massaged my entire body. They give you a full hour unlike some places that try to wrap it up after 45 minutes. I got a massage at Slope Wellness last weekend and without a doubt, it was one of the best massages I've ever gotten which includes massages I've gotten in India and Thailand. The staff are super friendly and the office is beautifully decorated and very peaceful. The massage therapist was extremely professional and made sure the pressure was right and that she was focusing on the right spots. I have a bad back and very tense shoulders and she made sure to work them with the appropriate level of pressure. Highly recommend to my friends and am looking forward to going back. read more

I was a big fan of Slope when I started going a couple of years ago. The place is clean, pleasant, and soothing, and with one or two exceptions, the massage therapists were among the best I've ever seen - especially Eric and Lisa. Both of them are professionals that really know the musculoskeletal system and can work out complicated problems related to old sports injuries, surgeries, etc. The massage therapists are not the problem. The space is not the problem. It's the office manager (and some staff members). I found out that I was being overcharged for my membership, but no biggie; that could be fixed. And I was planning to keep it - if i don't get frequent massages, I end up limping and in pain (plus, they're yummy) - but was treated so rudely that I asked for a refund instead. There seemed to be no problem with this, and despite the argumentative treatment, I continued to go to Slope to see Lisa. And yet - the refund hasn't happened. It's been about four months since the OM said she'd give me my money back! I just called to make an appt with Lisa and happened to get the OM, whom I've been meaning to call -- not only about the missing refund, but also to point out that they'd double-dipped (I have autopay) several times. After I scheduled the appt, I brought these things up, and yet again, the OM was argumentative, kept talking over me and not listening (I raised my voice, I'm ashamed to say, to ask her to let me finish just one dang statement; she still wouldn't), and so generally rude and unfriendly that I told her I don't want my appt with Lisa after all, that I'm done with Slope b/c of the way I've been treated. After all, this was not the first time I"ve been talked to in such a way, by her or others. I mean, she is the one who totally dropped the ball - in so many ways, such as overcharging me to begin with - and yet she can't even talk to me in a polite manner, much less apologize?? Clearly Slope "Wellness" doesn't need a lot of business if it's acceptable to treat otherwise happy, paying customers this way. The fact that this OM won't let a customer - a customer who otherwise would have been a very loyal, long-term one who'd spend a lot of money b/c I trust Lisa - even SPEAK to explain her situation - well, it's not worth it. It has happened on every phone call about my membership problems, and the nasty tone has tainted how I feel about Slope. A massage - and the environment around it - is supposed to be healing, soothing, and calm. I'm so stressed after getting off the phone with her (and by the way, she hung up on me) that... well... I went here for a Reiki energy healing session with Rick. I really enjoyed the experience, and I may even do it again. However, I feel like it was a little pricey, so I don't think I could in good conscience recommend this to someone who is in any way skeptical. I had an initial acupuncture consultation and treatment with Jeff, followed by a 30 minute massage from Lisa and left feeling incredibly relieved of my pain. But, my problem needed more then that. So after an accurate consultation, I decided to get my ago puncture by Jeff. I have to say...... This place is a relaxation sanctuary! From the moment you walk in and see the clean minimal decor you feel like you're in a top notch spa. There is a hot/cold water machine and a lovely station that offers a variety of teas. I have been getting community acupuncture here for the past 5 months, and look forward to my appointment every week. Jeff, Trisha, and Lucas are all wonderful. I've lived in the neighborhood for a long time and can't believe I've never been here! The place itself is beautiful, quiet and inviting, but my massage therapist was the BEST part. I got a 60-minute massage with Capri Miner, who clearly knows his stuff. He was attentive and listened carefully as I explained the issues, checked in with me about my preferences, and then he did his knowledgeable, experienced thing. He keenly listened to my body and followed the breadcrumb-trail-of-woe up and down my back until the issue was resolved. He's obviously strong, but was somehow able to apply just the right amount of pressure wherever needed. Even with his elbow! Moreover, he told me exactly what was causing my pain and went over things I can do on my own to keep it at bay. It was an awesome conversation, and I genuinely enjoyed his perspective and communication style. I usually leave beat up when I have stubborn knots, but I left feeling realigned, flowing and pain-free. I haven't been pain-free in a really long time. Thank you, Capri! I'll be back! read more

I've been going to slope wellness for over a year and I LOVE them. I'm a massage addict with lots of aches, pains, and stress and their massages are among the BEST hands down - these are skilled, knowledgeable practitioners. I have never had a bad massage here but particularly recommend Silin and Kari. My chronic headaches (tension and migraine) went away after regular sessions with Silin. Recently, I started regular acupuncture and am equally happy with those services, especially since they offer community acupuncture at a reasonable price every day - often I'm the only person and the max is 3 people. I think Maria and Connie are especially good, but again, have no complaints about anyone I've been to. The space is lovely, clean and calm. The receptionists are helpful and extremely nice. I have to give a special shout out to Kiana who is a lovely person. FSA cards accepted and help with insurance if you have coverage. This place is now a regular part of my efforts to take better care of myself, reduce stress, and get healthier, physically, mentally, and emotionally. read more

I have been using yelp for longer than i can remember and this is my very first review and it is WELL DESERVED! I found Slope wellness after searching yelp for a good plave to get a massage. Let's start at the beginning. I called and spoke with a very pleasant woman whose name Im shamefully forgetting. Anyway she was a delight and booked me for an appoibtment with Capri for a Shiatsu session the next day. I arrived the next day and was pleasantly greeted by a receptionist, Capri greeted me about 2 mins later. He was so inviting and genuinely interested in listeinging to what I wanted out of the session. THEN HE WENT TO WORK! By far the best massage I have ever had, he stretched my body and massaged my tension into oblivion. He explained all along the way what he was doing and why while still managing to keep the session quiet, calm and relaxing. He periodically checked in on my comfort level and was extremely knowledgable about his technques.Upon leaving he also shared some excercises I could do at home to continue my tension relief.
