This has become our regular Sunday stop. It's worth leaving the resort for, it's easy to walk across the street from the Sunrise lift - just stack your gear in the handy rack and head in. They have a decent variety of bottles, taps, and liquor, and a fairly big menu (complete with diary specials) for such a comfortable bar spot. Bartender Andy is great and so is the owner Joe. I recommend stopping in here if you visit Ellicottville or Holiday Valley - you'll save $ and enjoy a nice atmosphere with friendly locals and staff. read more

This place is garbage. We ordered takeout for 4 people and they managed to mess up our order in multiple ways. First, I ordered wings and when we went to pick the order up, they told us they were out of wings and I had to order something else. So the lady started rushing me and telling me options that could come out quick so I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It's a BBQ joint so I figured this would be a good option. But when I got home, the sandwich was trash. See my picture below. Just don't add any sauce?! How the hell do you have a bbq sandwich without sauce? Also, my brother ordered a slice of peanut butter cheesecake and they just left it out of our bag completely. He's on his way there now to pick it up. What a pain. Has maintained the ambiance of its former self (used to be Cadillac Jack's). A great menu selection. We always stay at the Telemark and eat here frequently. Good drink menu for a good price. On my most recent excursion (over 3 days went 3 times), I had the wings ($11 for 10 standard sized/flavored wings was well on the high side), French Onion Soup (very good!), and the grilled chicken sandwich (nothing fancy - which is what I was looking for and a good price). The three types of BBQ sauce on the table is a nice touch. I do miss the slippers that used to sit by the door so I could take my ski boots off and the fireplace never has a fire going anymore. Slope side Bar was where we stopped around 5 for a ski break on a Sunday night. Skied right from the mountain down to the front door of this restaurant and rested our skis on the racks. To my surprise, the place was empty. I thought it would be packed with skiers, grabbing some drinks and grub but there were only two other people sitting at the bar. The place has a cabin feel, a little divey and super casual. We came in our oversized snow pants and sweatshirts, did not feel out of place for a split second. We decided to sit at the bar, there were only three beers on tap and a few more bottled selections. They had Yuengling so I went with that. The bartender, who was very friendly and laid back told us they were known for their BBQ style food. Each meal came with our choice of side. They had appetizers consisting of quesadillas, pizza logs, mozzarella sticks, typical bar food appetizers. They also had five salads, sandwiches, burgers and some BBQ style entrees. I went with the Slopeside Tacos, had my choice between smoked chicken or pulled pork. I went with the smoked chicken and chose a sweet potato for my side. Few restaurants actually offer a sweet potato for a side so I was impressed and excited! My tacos were mediocre. Two white tortilla tacos with some melted cheese, diced white onions and smoked chicken. I wasn't expecting much from them and I'm glad my expectations were low because they weren't great. My sweet potato was a little scary looking, black on the outside and some black inside too, tasted good though! There was some pico de gallo and sour cream on the side, I also upgraded for the guac, not necessary, tasted like it was a paste, had no kick to it. My friends, however, liked their food a lot. They went with an arrangement of onion soup and the pulled pork platter. They chose the mac and cheese sides and enjoyed them too. This stop is not gourmet, the quality of food is not impressive but it did the job and satisfied our appetites after a day of skiing. They had the football game on television, solid classic rock playing in the background and we just chilled out and enjoyed ourselves. I would come back next time I'm on the mountain, but wouldn't go out of my way to make a trip here. read more

We came skiing here at Holiday Valley and wanted a place to eat. Let's just say we found the spot ! Just off the Sunrise Lift across-the-street it was really busy and we got a seat right Away and got our drinks just as fast . I had a delicious burger and my buddies had the grilled chicken salad they looked just as Good. The soups we're really good too ! Anyways we ski here at least once ba year and plan on coming back to eat here every time we are here. Overall great food and service ! read more

My husband and I tried the Slopeside tonight and we found it to be an awesome experience. I thought the food was delicious, in fact, we are coming back for the smoke prime rib. My husband got the rib platter and I tasted the baked beans, and they were, by far, the best baked beans I have ever had. My meal was delicious as well. I thought drink prices were fair as well. Was looking forward to some BBQ right across the street from the Inn at Holiday Valley after a great day of skiing. When I consider a BBQ restaurant I assume they actually smoke their own food. Ordered half slab ribs, beans and onion rings. Meat was tender but tasted like it was cooked in an oven. The only smoke taste was in the sauce which I found very bland. Beans were mushy. Onion rings okay. If you are hankering for BBQ I do not recommend. read more

Slopeside is in a very good location next to the slopes. As advertised we thought we were going to eat at a bbq restaurant. When we walked in nobody was their top seat us for about 2 minutes. We sat down and ordered our food and drinks, they messed up 3/5 orders bringing stuff nobody had ordered. Then when the brought out the rubber chicken sandwich 2 minutes later I witnessed my self and my father eat the worst chucked sandwich we have ever ate. I do recommend if your into AWFUL and over priced food. read more

We have tried this restaurant twice and been disappointed both times. Servers are rude, food takes a long time to come out (40 min). We were overcharged, didn't get what we ordered, and when we asked to get it fixed the server was extremely rude. There are better places to go in Ellicottville. read more

The worst meal and dining experience near the valley. Portion size was very small for the kids meals. Some meals were brought to the table prior to the drinks even being delivered. The bill was incredibly incorrect. The management was completely unwilling to correct the bill. We were charged for things that we did not order. Served our own water from the bar. Thankfully they are only winter seasonal, that makes it not as bad as if it were around all year long. Reason for this review is because of an incident where I witnessed the owner chew out an employee and it was extremely uncomfortable and the owner was actually wrong. I complained and was told that he was "really stressed" and that he "misunderstood something" but I'm sorry, that's no excuse to treat your employees poorly. I can't justify lining this guys pockets so won't return, but not missing anything as they try to frame themselves as a great barbecue place, yet the pork barbecue came out dripping in grease and got the entire rest of the plate soggy with it. We have been going to Holiday Valley for years. We've never ate at this place since change of ownership/name change. We loved going to the old place. However, I was very disappointed with the new place. The staff was terrible and so was the food. We waited 15+ minutes for a server to even come to our table. A few people from our group actually went up to the bar the get a drink because they were tired of waiting. The new food is absolutely terrible. You can tell its the lowest quality you can get. We were completely shocked with the quality and would of been better off going to burger king (if it was still there) or eating the cafeteria food in the lodges. Service was terrible. Took us almost an hour to get checks split up between 3 parties and it was wrong every time. Waitress refused to rearrange the bills and insisted that she can't do anything about it even though we told here multiple times it was wrong. BEST bar/restaurant in Eville. The owner, Bob Tecevak, is so dedicated to making sure the customers leave happy and you will NOT be disappointed. I was in town with friends for a ski trip/21st birthday at Holiday Valley and got dinner at Slopeside on our first night in town. Our waiter, Aaron, was impressively accommodating and the food was incredible. I highly recommend the macaroni and cheese, the backyard burger, and the salted caramel pie with chocolate peanut-butter cluster. THEN we came back the next night to celebrate our friend's 21st and were treated like family. The bartenders and regulars bought her drinks, sang to her, and gave her a free slice of the (magnificent) aforementioned pie (again highly recommend!!!!!) But overall, you will not be disappointed. Small town place with big flavors and bigger hearts! Would recommend to anyone! read more

This place is amazing! They are so friendly and accommodating to all of their guests, and the decor is warm and comfortable. Bob the owner is great. Not only were the people friendly, the food was good as well. I recommend getting their peanut butter pie. There's nothing too fancy at Slopeside, but it makes you feel relaxed and among friends. After being a server and working in the restaurant industry for the past 8 years this has been the worst service I have ever witnessed. Had dinner tonight with a group of 12. The food was good and that is the only reason for giving one star. Our waiter came by for our order and forgot a few drinks. Then three others joined the table as he was going around getting everyone's order. He took their order at the end and never brought the beers or soft drinks. I had to ask for my drink three times before receiving it. My boyfriend never received his coke until his meal came out. More than half of the table ordered appetizers which never came out. When the food came out the server had no idea where the food was going and just kept walking around with dishes. Once all the food was out some people asked for their appetizers which never came out (I don't think they were ever rang in). The prime rib which was the special tonight and ordered by 3 people was cold and served without Au jus sauce and steak knives. The two people that ordered salads were disappointed due to hot lettuce and never receiving dressing. After the meal the server asked me what everyone had for dinner and to let him know who would be on checks together. From my experience as a server and manager in the industry I think the staff just needs more training. Overall the food wasn't bad and the atmosphere was nice. The service was just very disappointing. read more
