My sister and I drove 30 minutes here because we heard it was good and were looking for a new coffee spot to try. Slow Bloom is so cute and it's in this tiny parking lot and the building itself looks like it could've been an old lady Christian book store or something. The windows are really cool and the day we went it was gray and overcast (finally) and it just felt like a cool coffee shop in the desert. Inside it's kind of small but it shouldn't deter you from studying or getting some work done here because there are outlets to plug into. There's also plenty of outside seating all around the perimeter of the building. I tried the slow pour coffee with the beans being from Ethiopia and the coffee was TO-DIE-FOR I also recommend the pastries and had the pumpkin loaf and it calmed my nerves and made me feel like I was home. I've been going full-throttle for the past seven days and coming here forced me to just slow down and enjoy this slow pour, Ethiopian coffee. The city itself has a slower vibe and it's just what I needed. If you want to disappear for the day and just recalibrate yourself, Slow Bloom is the place. read more

Slow Bloom Coffee opened the door in Feb 2022 and started by 16 former employees of Augie's Coffee who tried to unionize and were laid off. The story was even featured in The New York Times and it is currently an employee-owned & profit-sharing coffee shop with their own union. Our party came at 9:30 AM on Saturday and there was no waiting line at first, but 15 minutes later a waiting line began to form. [Parking]: There's a small & free private parking lot and parking shouldn't be an issue. [Menu]: In addition to your typical coffee/espresso menu (Americano, espresso, drip, cortado, latte, cold brew, and tonic), they offer four different pour over options as well as few selective fall seasonal drinks (e.g. PSL or pumpkin spice latte). For baked goods, Slow Bloom Coffee collaborates with Hayet Albi Bakery (a Lebanese bakery) and you'll find Arab donuts (e.g. Fig + Leaf, Knefeh, Chocolate + Halva, Hibiscus + Rose, and Turkish Coffee) and cookies (Tahini chocolate chip and Date Ma'amoul). [Atmosphere]: Spacious outdoor patio area and indoor space has a disco ball. *** Latte (hot & medium, $4.75): It's hard to say latte here was the best cup I have ever had given there are tons of great third wave coffee shops in LA, but the drink was pretty solid. *** I am not surprised that this is the perhaps best coffee shop in town given all other coffee options in the nearby area. The coffee at Slow Boom is good with no complaints there. But the prices feel questionable for what you get. The tipping setup is the biggest drawback: it automatically defaults to $1, $2, or $3, even on a $3 cup of coffee. That means you're being nudged toward tipping 33%, 66%, or even 100% before tax, which feels excessive. On top of that, there are a few individuals here who, if you don't leave a tip, you can immediately see it on their face and the customer service goes out the door. Not only was the mango Thai tea not good, it was flat out bad. Do not recommend ! Also the black sesame latte was just syrupy. I don't understand the hype or long lines. I trashed both drinks. Flavor and customer service not there. What a waste of $12.50. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops I've discovered of late. The service was swift, friendly, & very knowledgeable. Bought some of their beans they roasted themselves and it came with a free cup of coffee. The filter drip was tasty and smooth with no bitterness. The highlight of the day was their pumpkin drink; it was one of my favorites I've ever had. On weekends they serve Lebanese donuts and the one we had was great. The vibe of the shop was awesome with ample seating inside and out. My only gripe is its popularity, the line was out the door was out the door but you can't fault them for anything. We decided to try this place out since it was on the way to the dealership to get an oil change. First off, don't be fooled by the exterior. Surprisingly, the interior looks like a cute coffee shop inside. The cashier was not the friendliest, but attentive. The menu is on the counter so you have to think fast. It might have been nice to see it on the one blank wall next to the brewing station. Prices are very reasonable. The dopio was bitter. Not sure it's supposed to be bitter? I am so very grateful when I come across excellent coffee shops like Slow Bloom. I look forward to visiting my daughter often so I can have more of this coffee. We arrived around 7:30 on a Sunday. The outside is very unassuming and a little set back from the street. There's an even more unassuming "Coffee" sign at the street; we almost passed it up. The outside reminded me of an old A&W lol Once you step inside, you are in the cutest coffee oasis. There are several well spaced tables along one wall and the back of the shop - one person was reading the paper, another working on their laptop. Yes, it's welcoming. There's also seating outside under a simple shade. Service was kind, friendly and prompt. After we ordered, more people started trickling in - they obviously know what's up. On to the coffee. In a word: spectacular. I can't comment on the coffee drinks because I'm a purist. We chose a Colombian pour over and a Guatemalan drip that was already made. I went ahead and added a bit of sugar and oat milk to the drip. Delicious. But the stand out was the Columbian pour over with its citrus and chocolate notes. I could have had a liter and been thankful for the jitters hahaa We also tried three different croissants and a coffee cake muffin, which was the star of pastries. Slow Bloom Coffee Overall Rating: 10/10 Overview: My girlfriend and I always get the Chai and Matcha latte. It hits the spot every time. Of all the places I have had a chai latte, Slow Bloom's is the richest. Their Matcha latte is also very rich and flavorful, it could compete with LA's Dulce coffee shop (although Slow Bloom doesn't offer the blueberry flavor). Although I have not gotten their drip, cold brew, or black coffees, their lattes are very on point. Pro: - When dining in, they serve you with a glass cup - Their wifi is pretty quick - Nice cool environment - Plenty of parking - Super friendly staff - Has extending outdoor patio seating Cons: - is a fairly pricey (especially if you need accommodations such as almond milk) - seating can get harder to come around as many students fill this place up Conclusion: From an avid coffee drinker, this place hits my list of all time greats. If this place is your first time getting into lattes, stay away. You need to go to worse places to truly appreciate the flavor, richness, and depth of their lattes. While it was slow to arrive, Slow Bloom is off to a fast start. It has an unique history, that you can Google or read about by their cream station. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, they are quite popular, see my Tip regarding parking. There are some indoor and outdoor seating. We found the staff helpful and engaging. We were fortunate and had inside seating, and enjoyed the vibe. We had an Americano and a Café Latte with Almond Milk, see pic. The Americano was okay - straight up coffee. This was better than the big national brand, a bit milder but still retained a bite. The Café Latte was one of the better ones in the area: the almond probably added a hint of sweetness and it was smooth. As a suggestion, we bought our coffee drinks here and went to a local sweet shop, see my other reviews, for munchies to go with them. read more

Well, Chai tea with oat milk iced with sweetener was delicious! I enjoyed it so much I forgot to take a picture lol I am planning on coming back! I love their glass windows and super light and lit up area. I like the outdoor sitting as well and their supporting local restaurant next door. It just gives you a whole vibe. I love that this shop is on the opposite side of Redlands. It shows a lot of character on the business itself. My friend had a matcha drink and while I keep avoiding matcha for some reason I did try hers and it was delicious as well. They do have herbal non caffeinated teas for those who can't have the insane amount of coffee most Americans do everyday. No worries, they have variety in their menu. Great choices of food, abundance of charm, and a cozy neighbor atmosphere. Slow Bloom is a great community and addition to the Redlands area. The drinks themselves rotate often, but they all have great flavor profiles and high quality which does not waver. The scones and muffins available in partnership with other local companies also taste delicious. I've come here three times now, sometimes to do work. The actual space itself is nice with the outdoor patio area as an option (perhaps better without the heat). The indoor seating is quite hard to snag, but there are generally counter seats available. I am looking forward to trying the Riverside location once they open up. read more

We found this quaint little coffee shop while visiting a family member at a local hospital. We were greeted with a warm welcome and our coffee was made exactly as ordered... it was PERFECT! I had never even heard of Slow Bloom until today. My best friend and I were going to meet up for a quick coffee at a new spot in downtown but realized it was closed when we got there, so she suggested Slow Bloom as neither of us have been, so off we went! The line was out the door when we got there but it honestly moved fairly quickly and we were even able to snag a table inside (there's also outdoor seating). We paid $11 for our two 12oz iced vanilla lattes, which is more than I would want to pay on a regular basis for a drink that size, but at least it was good! And I have to say I was a little apprehensive because my friend mentioned she had heard this place was opened by some of the employees who came from Augies and I was never a fan of Augies coffee! Good to know - milk-wise, your options are whole, almond or oat only. I would come back if I was in the area for sure. I have to say there's a lot of coffee options in Redlands these days and their hours here actually make sense unlike a lot of others so that's working in their favor too. And lastly, cute building!
