Stopped on our way through Boise looking for some great coffee on the road, found it. They do excellent pour over coffee from a variety of local roasters. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They gave us a bunch of suggestions for coffee places to try out further down the road on our trip. Also a large area to sit and get work done or relax. read more

Great coffee. Definitely a higher end coffee bar. They will make slight alterations to their menu but really like to stick to their menu. For example, they do not serve any decaf coffee! I've been here several times and always tried different offerings. They've all been very good and the location and layout is very inviting. You can saddle up to the upstairs bar and watch over the ledge as the baristas do their magic. The coffee is good. Would be very good if they had cream for it. The best they can do is whole milk. They explained to me that cream would disrupt the acid balance of the coffee. I am actually trying to disrupt the acid balance, believe it or not. That's why we use cream, to smooth out the cuppa joe and put the kiabash on the stomach-upsetting acid. read more

Whew, Boise has good coffee again. After the Crux closed, I felt doomed to drink poor quality bitter coffee for the rest of my days. But huzzah, the dark days are over! Yes, you will be paying slightly more than some other downtown coffee shops, but you're paying for a significant difference in quality. I hope they stick around. read more

Tried it a few days after they opened, might be the priciest coffee in Boise and I'm not sure that the quality matches the price. I had an iced 12oz vanilla latte served in a glass that appeared to be mostly full of ice. It came out to 4.77 with tax. On the plus side it is a beautiful shop. Will give them another try in a month or two. read more

Skinny jeans and super cute boots galore... Parking is non existent. Buuuut totally worth it! It is the best americano I have had in Boise and possibly the best one ever. Wonderful coffee spot - they source their beans from roasters around the country, and rotate their offerings only with beans that they truly enjoy. We wanted to try it all, but instead, we ordered 2 drinks, and purchased 2 bags of their featured beans. This is the only place in Boise to get a truly great coffee. This coffee is for people who actually exercise ALL of their tastebuds, not just their sweet ones. I recommend getting a Cortado! Amazing coffee. I had their mocha and it was fantastic. By far, the best espresso + chocolate combination I've ever had, and I consider myself somewhat of an espresso snob. Their staff is inviting and promote the "slow by slow" lifestyle where you take the time to do what you're going to do, do it well, and enjoy it. The menu is a little confusing, only because it's different than something you'd expect at a coffee shop but the baristas are happy to walk you through it. There's plenty of seating and it's a great spot to meet for a cup of coffee or come in and get some work done. The only downside is their hours - I've found myself wanting their coffee on Sunday's and in the evenings which happens to be when they're closed. I don't live downtown so it's a bit of a drive to get there but it's absolutely worth it. read more

It definitely is becoming more crowded, so sometimes finding a place to sit can be challenging. If the counter overlooking the lower area is open, sit there. It's the best people watching spot. And to have your coffee delivered from below by a headless hand is pure funny. And don't even get me started on the Sable Baking goods. read more

This is one of the best coffee shops in town. They know their coffee VERY well, and they make a mean latte. All of the baristas are ridiculously friendly and personable. And a bonus is that they have the best pastries too. The salted rice krispy bar is SUPERB. It does get busy sometimes so expect a line from time to time, but it's busy for a reason. They have a great product. I do wish that they were open a little later so that I can get my coffee fix later in the day! I highly recommend this place. read more

Perhaps the best coffee I've ever had. The barista we spoke with is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about their coffee. Their space is bright and open with a great space to work upstairs or chill with a couple friends. We got a variety of pour-overs and a cortado, which was a delicious treat. GO HERE. If you're on the fence about trying new coffee or need an amazing pick me up, go to slow by slow. I came from twin falls for treefort and I tried them out. Theyre called slow by slow, but they had a TON of people in line and were working in a quick and efficient Manor, taking time with each order like their menu advertises. I had NO idea what to order, then menu is simple but I love that. By listening to what the man ordered in front of me, I got an day drinker espresso with CLOVE flavor in it. It was more beautiful (coffee designs! Amazing!) than it even sounds, and so much better than any pumpkin spice latte will ever be, without meaning to be. It was warm and creamy and delicious, just the right temperature. These people KNOW what they're doing. I also happened to pick up a raspberry Danish, made the CORRECT way, and my god it was insanely delicious and aesthetically pleasing, and not one bit too sweet. I will make a point to return here every time I visit Boise from now on. So rad! read more

The baristas argued with me when I requested they use a little less water for a stronger pour-over, saying "We can't alter the recipe." They begrudgingly gave in after much pleading and said they wouldn't be able to make this accommodation in the future and that maybe I should order an Americano instead. What kind of high end ($4/cup) coffee shop doesn't customize (i.e., comply with a customer's request for less hot water in a pour-over)? I had a mocha that knocked me out, and the drip coffee is on a great rotation.

Ordered a hot chocolate & a delicious looking cinnamon roll. The hot chocolate was creamy, warm, not sweet but not bad either. If there was a touch more chocolate I'd be completely satisfied. Turning to the cinnamon roll, it's not what I expected. It's a cousin to the a croissant & ever so more tasty with a generous topping of frosting. There is plenty of upstairs seating too! read more

This was a great find! Why not 5 stars- I think the lack of food options. I know that's lame but when I go to a place with such amazing coffee- and great environment I want to stay a while so I need food. The coffee is great/ I had an espresso the first day and a pour over the second day. Both were great and it was a very mellow, relaxing environment as I waited for my pour over. I had the most unbelievably rude experience here. I waited outside until 7:00 when they open and I when I went to walk in I was greeted by Mallory and clearly I didn't realize that she wasn't happy with me interrupting her - morning ritual because I didn't get a hello. But that's okay (so I thought).... went to look at their coffee choices and decided to ask "which coffee as the most bold flavor"? I like my coffee full bodied. I was responded to with a serious attitude and the comment "they're all coffee". And that's when I realized she's pissed at me for coming into the store at 7:00 am exactly when she wasn't ready. I decided to tell her that I think I'll go elsewhere-nothing more and she proceeded to tell me I was "pushy" for walking in the door before she put the sign out. What she didn't realize is that I thought she knew I had been sitting in the cold outside waiting for them to open and that she was opening the door for me (I know crazy isn't it?) since it was supposed to be open. All I know is that I've never in my life have ever been treated so rudely and continuously - instead of apologizing at any moment she chose to act like a rabid dog with a bone and wouldn't let it go. It's a no- brainer I would never go there never recommend. Clearly they don't get it's customers that pay their salary. I feel bad for the owner - because it's not a good sign. And btw I'm not one to complain - prefer to celebrate the positive and not waste my time on the negative - but this was that bad. I'm over at caffedarte- super nice. read more

Great place to come for consistently good coffee and good service. Great atmosphere that's usually quiet in the early hours but gets busier around 10 am as people have business meetings, etc. The pour over coffees are always on point and the Cortados and Lattes are made extremely well.
