In preparation for a possible El Nino event in winter, I wanted to have my roof inspected and, if necessary, repaired. I did this about 7 years ago as well. I called 3 companies and asked them to inspect my roof and provide me with a written estimate of work and cost. Over the next week, roofing contractors came by and walked across my roof to assess it, and subsequently sent me their written estimates. They ranged from $2,350 to $5,200. I would have been satisfied with only 3 estimates, but I had inadvertently called a fourth contractor, SLR Roofing. Tomer (Tom) came to my house and, like the others, inspected my roof. However, unlike the others, he told me that the roof was in excellent condition and needed no work. When I showed him the other proposals, he scoffed and told me that I was being sold something that I really didn't need. At best, all I needed was some minor resealing of several tiles with silicon. He got up on the roof and spent the next half hour doing this for free!! He asked for nothing in return. I can't recommend SLR any higher. SLR Roofing rules! My wife and I were a bit apprehensive about getting a new roof. We'd had to have the roof patched a few times due to leaks and knew from talking to a few roofers that, due our house being two stories and the pitch of the roof being very steep, a new roof was going to be a major expense. Also, some of the fascia boards were rotten because water had gotten behind the gutters. In addition we wanted to know if anything could be done to lessen the sun on the roof making the 2d floor virtually uninhabitable during the summer. And our roof was 30 years old so who knew what surprises would be uncovered once the shingles were removed? Beyond that only one insurance company was left that would consider insuring our house and, after the Palisades fires, it was questionable they would continue. We talked with three companies and chose SLR Roofing. Tomer, the SLR representative we talked to, suggested using "crickets" to prevent water from collecting behind the chimney and also behind a skylight as well as over a door to the balcony. With the water's being diverted around those obstacles, he said, there would be no leaks. To reduce the problem of the heat from the summer sun penetrating the roof and making the 2d floor uninhabitable he suggested installing insulation panels under the roof (asphalt) tiles. For the third of the house where we have some attic space under the roof, he told us insulation wouldn't be needed, which made sense and saved us some money. But he also suggested replacing our thermostatically controlled attic fan with a solar-powered model that would be on all day during the summer (without costing us anything for electricity). Another suggestion was to replace our 4-inch gutters with 5-inch so they could handle the amount of water coming down off the roof. He recognized the fascia boards that were rotten and pointed out that the new gutters would allow the flashing to be installed so that water would not collect behind the gutters. And, major surprise, the quote to get the job sone was in line with the ones we'd received from the other roofers. The job was completed in slightly less than a week, including a thorough clean-up of all the debris. Tomer offered to paint the new fascia boards so they'd match the old ones and cut off a paint sample so I could go to Home Depot and have a gallon of paint matched to the exiting color. (I got the paint myself and he provided the labor without an upcharge.) During the process Tomer came everyday to check the progress. We were in daily contact via phone, texting or email. Frankly, in addition to a new roof, I feel we got a new friend. If my own brother had been in charge he could not have represented us any better. Thank you, SLR Roofing! read more

Tom from SLR Roofing came over promptly at the scheduled time. He took a long look at the roof after climbing up there and came back with a solution. I had gotten other bids from other companies. They told me that the area around the leak would have to be replaced. And the range of bids were quite high. Tom said he found where the roof was leaking and could be repaired by just putting some silicone sealant over the area. He suggested since he was already there he could seal it right then. I have been using SLR Roofing since 2019. I used them first to fix a leak. I chose them because they we clear on what they would be doing and didn't try to force me into buying a whole new roof when I only needed a section fixed. They were priced in the middle of the quotes I got and they gave me confidence in their plan. I'm an engineer so I wanted to know they really knew the technical details, which they did. Today (11/25/24) I had SLR come back for a check up before the rainy season. I was concerned about my concrete tile roof, fearing cracks from walking on it. When the technician, Miguel, came today he brought a drone! I was thrilled! The drone took great photos of the roof and all the vent pipes coming through the roof where there might be leaks. From this Miguel came up with a plan of where to put the ladder and how he was going to make sure the pipes were properly sealed. As part of the maintenance fee he also painted all the pipes. SLR is my go-to roofer - now with drones to make the job easier and safer and less chance of damaging my roof! read more

Had a roof leak. My home warranty sent out another company and they told my home warranty company that the leak was under the solar panels. This was not covered by my warranty. I disagreed with this diagnosis as the leak stain was located in a different location. That's when I decided to get quotes from other companies. SLR was one of those companies. SLR was not the cheapest, but was reasonable. They were the first to come out for an estimate and was able to schedule the leak repair immediately. Other companies were a week out. I definitely wanted to fix the leak before the rain so I decided to go with SLR. Anton was a pleasure to work with. They came when they stated they would and Anton took pics of all the damage and what they fixed. He came back after the rain to make sure the leak was repaired. With all the great companies on Yelp, how do you pick the one that is right for you? I was impressed by Tomer , the contractor and roofer who works for the company. First of all, he spent more than 30 minutes on my roof when we met up for the estimate, that gave me a feeling that he had checked my roof very thoroughly and really had a good idea of what it would cost. Others showed me Satellite View of my roof, as if I have never seen that before, Some hadn't even stepped foot on my roof. Let alone spending time to see our old roof, the genuine care he carried during the process made me feel he would try to do the best he could. His team was extremely efficient and finished my roof in as little as 3days, actually 2 days, because the middle day was spent waiting for inspection. I watched how his team worked the periodically just to see how they applied my Presidential TL , because this kind of roof has its own method of application, I have checked it online, that requires a specific skill for the system. I particularly noticed 2 of his workers showed excellent craftsmanship. Every time I texted Tomer , he responded in a very short time. His ""No hassle approach " is what made my experience with this company a breeze. Not only the price, the HOA board consider of the attitudes to the customer and the knowledge reflected when answering our questions, the punctuation to appointments and quotes quality, and the willingness to cater to our needs. I got 5 bids from a roofing company for the reroofing of my house last November. Due the deep slope of my roof, only Migurel Ochoa, the Project Manager from SLR Roofing went up to inspect my roof.
