In November of last year, my wife accepted a job in Santa Fe, Nm and in a very short two weeks we had to pack up our house, storage and three kiddos and relocate from Arizona to New Mexico. We got the storage pods delivered to the house and started packing everything nonessential, then called Small Time Moving. We explained to James our situation and he was very understanding and accommodating. The moving crew arrived and packed everything into the pods that we didn't need. They did a stellar job in organizing each pod and maximizing the space in each. The night before the pods were to be picked up, James and crew came back a second time to pack up the essentials that had to remain out until the last minute. I thought it was an amazing level of customer service that they would be willing to show up on two separate days in consideration of our special circumstances. My family and I appreciate the professionalism, dedication and awesome customer service of Small Time Moving and when we move again, I'm asking if they'll make a special trip to New Mexico to pack us up again! Not sure how these hack criminal movers got four stars. They presented as "nice guys" "professionals" and yet their negligence and shoddy job just caused over $5,000 worth of damage. I provided 200' of rope and they told me they didn't need to tie anything down because "the van was packed tight!" Umm wrong! They knew I was traveling 1800 miles across 7 states. Because of their shitty work, nearly every single piece of furniture I own was scratched or damaged. They were so proud they fit everything on, only they didn't tell me that they basically threw my stuff in as though it were garbage going into one giant trash can. Unbelievable! I've filed complaints with multiple state agencies because of their negligence and the damage they caused. Additionally James stood next to me and strong-armed me into inputting the payment code because the job was "done." What they don't tell you is you don't have to input the payment code until you arrive and see it went ok, which in my case, it clearly did not. So they got paid for a hack job. Lastly, $140 went missing from my wallet while they were there. My bad - I hid my purse in the closet and forgot to lock the door. read more

Had a great time with my move across town. They were on time and where not bums from the slums like some of theses other companies around Phoenix. If you have a question or just want a quote they helped me out and where safe and hard working, but most of all trustworthy. I'd definitely recommend these guys for any of your moving needs. These guys are fantastic. I was in a serious bind and needed to load my car up & move the next day. I was not able to have the help I was counting on (long story) so I called Small Time Moving the night before. I needed them to load my PT cruiser until it was completely full. Not only did they accept the job but they were prompt, courteous AND affordable. I highly recommend this company. The stores owner has zero personality and is not pleasant at all. This store triplicates as a moving company, art store and coffee shop all in one. All I had was a small latte and thank goodness I did not try the other offerings . They don't even grind their own coffee beans. Again zero personality! read more

Let's get these guys out there more! Come on ....refer...refer! STM was a great experience; from the first phone call to get pricing to the final walk through after the move. The customer service was on point. Huge factor, in my book, when selecting a company of any sort. My movers were Cody and Bud. They were great, professional, courteous, and friendly. Great organization. Maximized every space in that 26ft truck! They disassembled and reassembled my furniture with care. They made sure every box went in its correct place and even asked me if I wanted them to arrange my living room furniture, because i kept moving it around. These guys are awesome ! I ordered two guys for 4 hours and they got it done with minutes to spare. Packed the truck carefully while considering the fact that I'm moving cross country. We needed to do a refrigerator swap from our garage in Glendale to Peoria and then back to our garage with the fridge from Peoria. They were running late due to a big job moving someone from Anthem to Cave Creek. The main guy Darek called us twice to touch base. Our appointment time was 2-4 but because of the delay they arrived about 6:30PM. Took 1.5 hours to complete the swap. Darek & his helper were very polite and careful. Even kept the refrigerator from Peoria tilted up so we could sweep the gobs of dust from under the refrigerator. Our daughter used the same company to do two moves and she recommended them to us. My only issues were they don't carry any tie downs & if you use a credit card there is an extra fee which was not quoted before the move but they do accept cash or a check. Luckily we have our own tie downs and they came in handy & we wrote a check. The price we paid was well worth it! read more

i paid these people to move me to nm, its taken a wk for me and my neighbors to go through my stuff, epson printer and ink missing and toshiba lap top. called james. i did not hold any money back and he accused me of loosing items, will not do anything, i should have held out money,also do not let them rent the uhaul truck, he up charged me for fuel over 150 dollars and other fees, if you use them you rent the truck and just let them drive. i am very disappointed in this move i guess i will just have to sue in court, i find james not to be honest when it comes to his duties. this used to be a good co but it looks like not any more. if you are moving beware of this company read more

We have used this company twice now, and we are very satisfied with the results. The first time was in January 2014 when we were packing up to move from AZ to WA. We booked them through Uhaul for two movers for four hours. We did the packing ourselves and they came to lift and load the truck. They were on time and professional, and did a great job loading our 26 ft truck with our entire house. Nothing was broken or scratched when we arrived in Washington. When we moved back to AZ in August 2014, we made sure to book this company to help us unload the truck. Again, we had a great experience and they stayed behind to help us set up furniture. I don't plan on moving anymore, but I would call them again if I needed help moving. read more

These guys are on the ball when it comes to moving! I even rescheduled at the last minute and they were able to accommodate. I booked two movers for two hours. The two guys showed up on time (actually even waited for me since I had some issues with the getting the rental truck) and were helpful, courteous, well-mannered, and sociable from the very beginning. The move only took about an hour, but they stayed in case I needed anything. They even helped me clean up and take out the trash once we were done! Almost every other moving company charged more than twice as much, but the guys at Small Time were perfect for my small move. I highly recommend these guys! read more

No they were not on time, they were not prepared for the job, they did not work hard, they were not respectful of property and goods, and no I would not use them again. The helpers were more than 45 minutes late, with no notice. The owner of the company dropped off three "movers" and I use this term EXTREMELY loosely, as they were all kids who obviously had no clue how to load a moving truck...particularly one going across the country...which I DID mention in the request. p.s. they all had backpacks with them too, so hard telling if any small items disappeared. I requested three movers, which I suppose you could say I got since three bodies were on premises, but it seemed like only two of three movers were ever working at once. We ended up having to unload the truck and all I can say is thank goodness we didn't drive that load two-thousand miles. When we unloaded, we found that the movers hadn't used the (three dozen) moving blankets to wrap our furniture resulting in multiple scratches, dings, and assorted damage to my furniture (even though it only sat in the truck 3 days). They didn't even wrap a glass table top we had bubble-wrapped. Oh, did I mention said moving blankets were shoved into the middle of the load? I told the helpers that the boxes were stacked heaviest-to-lightest in the house already, but they decided to mix the stacks up however they damn well pleased, and ended up damaging multiple boxes.
