They have good tasting cupcakes! The bread is so moist and soft. They also have a good variety of flavors; they are all so unique. So far from what I remember, they have salted caramel (my favorite), birthday cake, red velvet, peanut butter, lime, chocoholic, etc. They also have homemade ice cream, I only tried the salted caramel sample which was so good, true caramel taste. In my opinion, I think the price is very worth it. Each cupcake is $3.75 if I am not mistaken. Definitely recommend, also don't forget to bring your loyalty card! read more

Got my daughter's 'glow in the dark' cake custom ordered from here.Staff was very creative in customizing the cake according to my daughter's wishes and not only did it look great but it was delicious. It was a two layered cake with chocolate and vanilla filled with strawberry and custard filling. Cake was super moist and the filling was delicious and fresh. No surprise we had no left over cake. Can't wait to go back and order for my next event. Highly recommend ordering for your next event from here. I only gave them a short notice and they had no problem in completing my order. Best Small Cakes location I've been to! I love how much they seem to care about what customers want. Something new every time I go in (Gluten free cupcakes, adult cupcakes, Keto cupcakes, cake pops etc...) and great specials. Cupcakes are always great and beautiful, no complaints there. My Husband and I have placed handfuls of cake and customer cupcake orders from SmallCakes Naperville and they were always amazing. We recently moved so I decided I would try this location. I called in and placed my order over the phone and was super specific that I needed a Reece cup on top of the 36 cupcakes I ordered. I even mentioned I noticed their crushed in the store but I did not want that and she confirmed it was NO problem. The cupcakes are for someone who loves Reese cups so I wanted to surprise him with these for his birthday tomorrow. When I arrived to pick them up a young lady working told me they crushed them because they didn't have any non crushed Reese cups. I said really? Why wasn't I called I could have brought them in if it was a problem. Not to mention they told me it was no issue over the phone. The young lady got VERY rude with me and was just trying to ring me up and get me out. I explained this was over $50.00 worth of cupcakes that are not what I ordered. I asked her to get a Manager. She said there was not one there, I told her I wanted a discount since these are very expensive and now not even what I want. She left and called a Manager that I could hear the entire conversation with which was also ridiculous based on what the girl was saying. It was like she couldn't even explain clearly what happened and why it mattered. She came up and said she could do 10% off or 6 free cupcakes which I felt was the very least they could offer. I went with the cupcakes since 10% was nothing. While picking out the cupcakes the employee was rolling her eyes and giving me a huge attitude. Never once did she apologize, when she checked me out she didn't say a word. No apology, no thank you. My advice to the manager would be to get some friendly employees with customer service skills and to follow the directions of what customers order. In the event they make a mistake, handle the situation better and don't treat a paying customer the way I was treated tonight. I will not return to this location and will continue to drive out of my way to support the Naperville location. read more

Disappointing visit. Went yesterday afternoon with husband and grandson. Just seemed very unorganized. Looked like most of cupcakes were gone as several plates in the case were empty. Not a word said about more coming from back in a couple minutes. But that's exactly what happened. Asked for coffee but had to wait for it to be brewed as current supply was cold. Offerings for cream, sugar and sweeteners were Wal -Mart creamers and one choice for sugar free sweetener. For a fancy bake shop, offer more for your customers. Both of the tables were dirty as were the chairs. Just not a great experience. One girl tried to ring us up and struggled doing it accurately. Another girl was all flustered trying to make coffee as she tried to (without success) to carry the huge coffee brewer to the back. We finally got coffee when we were done with our cupcakes. Had to stand at counter to remind girl we still needed coffee. It really seemed like a lack of training . My chocolate cupcake didn't have any chocolate taste or smell. So this experience was lacking all the way around and it's doubtful we'll go back. Great concept that fell very short of expectations. read more

Stopped in today to purchase some cupcakes. The sign advertised buy 3 get one free... grand opening special. Presented to the counter only to be told that was a morning special. Why advertise a special if you aren't honoring it. Put a piece of paper over the advertisement so you don't mislead customers. Horrible customer service,I walked out. My fiancé and I reached out in early December to inquire about having Smallcakes cater desserts for our upcoming wedding. We spent an extended amount of time communicating with a representative about what we were looking for and what Smallcakes could offer. We answered all of their questions. When we had questions, we were frequently told that they needed to check with the owner/bakers and that we hear back the following day. Every time, it frequently took days or up to a week to hear back. We also inquired about having Smallcakes make cupcakes for our son's birthday. We again communicated back and forth for long periods of time before not hearing back. Eventually, we reached out to express our frustration. We were given a response that the business closed for a week following the holidays due to to overwhelming amount of orders they received over the holidays. While we understand that the holidays are a busy time for all and that the pandemic has caused staffing shortages for many businesses, this in no way makes up for the frequent delays and poor communication. Any delays or closures should have been clearly communicated with any existing customers. We were also told that they would not be able to complete the order for the cupcakes due to not having a weekend cupcake decorator. If so, why did they indicate that they would be able to fulfill the order and ask us numerous questions about what we were looking for? This is extremely unprofessional. We are extremely unhappy with the lack of professionalism and communication from this business! read more

I chanced upon this place while picking up my pizza next door. The cupcakes looked so pretty. So I bought a dozen, I even got one cupcake free. My only comment - the icing was too sweet. I was hoping it could compete with Sprinkles, unfortunately, too much sugar in the icing, too sweet for our taste. I will go back to try the ice cream. read more

I went in a week before hand to place a order for 3 dozen cupcakes for today. They took my order and said to pay at pick up which I asked if it could be at 10am. I was unsure since they open at 10a. They told me that it would be fine. I showed up early at about 950a. Sal was there and opened the door and let me in even though they weren't technically open yet. Sal said that it would be a few minutes as there was a mix up and my order was wrote down for Sunday instead. I sat down and waited really worried since it seemed a little disorganized. I love the cupcakes at any Smallcakes! The cupcake is so moist! I have even had them catered to a bridal shower and everyone loved them. I was a little annoyed when I walked into the aurora location to find that at 6:30 they had zero cupcakes. The girl said she was sorry, but they close soon (I looked on the door and they didn't close until eight). She was very nice though and said if I just wanted the birthday cake flavor she could quickly get a couple together for me in the back. While we were waiting the other girl offered some samples of ice cream, as well. The service was great, I am assuming they are told by management to stop making cupcakes at a certain time and I wish that they wouldn't stop an hour and a half early. read more

In regards to Ashely I read your review and found it very false and way over exaggerated. I have bought cupcakes and ice cream from this Smallcakes and have always been treated well. I can see why you could be a little angry for having ordered a ton of cupcakes and having them be messed up, but for real you have to make a big deal about the Reese's? Crushed or non crushed...they are the exact same thing. How do you see that is a big deal, it's not skittles or some other candy, you are being way over the top. I find it very rude that you said to find better workers because they are working the hardest they can, and I bet they treated you fine, but I know if I was taking your order I would roll my eyes because how rude you were being to them. It's not the employees fault...they don't make the cupcakes, nor could they do anything about it, and you are putting the blame on them. Most of them are younger than 18, just trying to make money, while people like you are ruining their day making it be all about you. I'm glad you won't be returning because when I'm buying cupcakes I don't to be stuck behind someone like you holding up the line. I will be returning to buy more like everyone else.
