I was really struggling with how many stars to give. The employees are nice, the store is clean, everything was well organized. I also like that it's really easy to get in and out of the store. So that would normally be five stars. But sitting in waiting for over 20 minutes for a curbside order to be brought to my car is not very good customer service, especially when I'm the only car sitting, waiting for an order to be brought out. Today I had an order for pick up. The order was purposely placed at the time I selected so I could miss the lunch crowd and the after work crowd. I placed the order, scheduled my time, followed the instructions on the app, told them when I was on my way, and checked in when I arrived. The entire time I was sitting in the parking lot I was the only car sitting at one of the curbside pick up numbers. I checked in as instructed via the text message I received and the reply I received was "We are on our way to you." I sat in my car for over 20 minutes waiting for someone to bring out two cases of soda and items that could've filled two bags. So after 20 minutes, I went into the store. As soon as I walked in the store, there was one cashier with one customer. There was another cashier with no one in her line, one young man that was bringing in carts, and another employee standing in the front and another employee walking toward the back of the store. When I walked in, they smiled, I said I'm here for my pick up order, which was ready sitting in the front of the store by the registers. As I was sitting and waiting in my car that entire time, I chalked it up to maybe they were busy inside and that's why it's taking so long for my order to come out, but that wasn't the case because when I walked in, there was literally one person at the register being checked out. So pretty much going forward I think I will just go in and get my own items and not utilize the curbside pick up. read more

I go here for one item and one item only. Otherwise I avoid this store due to their employee miserable attitudes. No one greets you, no one says hello even after making eye contact. If you say hello or good morning their reply is a silent stare. The checker was a fool today. The sum was $11.78. I handed her three pennies and twenty dollars. I held out a dollar to her, but she disregarded it, so I placed it on the counter and said, "Here's a dollar. She glared at me as in what's the dollar for? "Give me back a ten and a quarter, I said". I have been making a weekly trip here the past few weeks for their large bagged salad mixes for my pet rabbits. I still find that the prices are a bit more expensive than Walmart and Target but they do have some good deals. They had a bag of 4 avocados at $3.69 when I just paid $4.99 at Foodsco for the same item. This trip I picked up some fruit and mint for a party. Strawberries were sad looking with one package growing visible mold. They looked like they have been there over a week as they were overly ripe. So I skipped them even though I needed some for a recipe. I did have a staff member ask me if I needed help finding something (which I did and he was helpful). This big box store is equivalent to Costco just not as big and no you do not need a membership. It is mostly ideal if you are shopping for a family or a business. There are many different items here besides groceries there is also the toilet paper and paper plates kind of stuff as well. I seen their produce and looked pretty fresh and there was a variety of it. There is not a bakery but they did have things like cupcakes and morning pastries. I really like that they have an alcohol selection with many different drinks included. There was a vast selection of soda water and sport beverages as well. I also noticed that they except EBT, which is good for a big family so they can get more of the items that they need in bulk. Last but not least the prices are very reasonable for the toilet paper and paper towels that I bought. There were also cups and paper plates and lots of candy which I think I will be going back if I have another birthday party anytime soon. read more

Smart & Final has become my main store to shop for groceries. The different locations are set up pretty much the same, so it's easy to make my way around the store. I like that I don't have to buy huge amounts of anything...I waste so much when I shop at the big box stores. Produce is fresh and they have local fruits, etc. when they're in season. Good selection, too. Their brand name items, First Street, are quality and reasonably priced. I've always been happy with meat purchased here...steaks, ground beef, pork chops and baby back ribs. They have a sale paper every Wednesday and I get a flyer in the mail on Tuesdays. It's not unusual to find Dreyers on sale 2 for $6. Score! The hubby thinks ice cream is a necessary food group. JK. The employees are friendly and check out goes pretty quick. read more

One of the worst grocery shopping experiences ever. Only 1 checker then supervisor stops everything so she can go through register. More delays when checker over charges me by $20.00. after I brought this to his attention he has to leave while supervisor takes over. 4 recipts later i got it supposedly straighted out. I love coming to this location because they always have what I need for the restaurant! Sometimes I do wish they carried more 1 gallon jugs of ranch because I might need a ton but overall their product is great. I love how organized it is as well and their produce is always fresh and never spoiled. The employees are great also and are always helpful taking you to the item you are trying to find so that's great! Never have issues with cleanliness as well and it's great to see they are always keeping the shelves stocked with product! read more

When Costco's large packs are not needed, S&F is our go to. We find their selection is good, meats and poultry is just as good as local supermarkets, and, the booze prices cannot be beat! Very clean with a team that is very helpful. read more

Very disappointed in the lack of customer service my son received this afternoon. He wanted to use some of his birthday money to buy snacks in bulk for school. Unfortunately, due to his appearance; he was asked to leave. He complied and allowed two employees to escort him out of the store. I wasn't with him, I definitely would have been more outspoken and not allow him; a tall, African American male to be embarrassed like that. $1 Ragu spaghetti sauce jars. I grabbed half a dozen- the limit! OK, my Italian friend from Northern NJ would rip out his hair if I boasted about this because he slow cooks his own damn marinara. They have a lot of hard to find item's, and the prices are very good, we stopped in due to the big membership place down the road was closing and we need a few things, so here we were. The staff was friendly and helpful, they were very patient with a lady complaining about the price of ribs, lol lady don't buy them if you don't like their prices. The new layout makes the store look bigger, very nice. If you don't have a membership with one of the bulk stores stop by this place it pretty cool. read more

Absolutely depressing store. Employees lack of customer service is incredible. Smile? What is that? "Hi, how are you?" While they looked down and scan your products. They give you your total ask if you want bags, never making eye contact, take your money and shove you along with your receipt and a have a nice day still without looking at you. Forget about asking for help when you can't find an item on the salesfloor. You won't find and employee to help and if you do, they act like you're bothering them. If you don't like interacting with customers, why get a job in customer service? Try smiling more, it may make your job more joyful. read more

I called this Smart & Final location because I have become use to stopping by on the way home from work. When I tryied to make an Instacart order I saw that the inventory was exceptionarily low due to the current virus problem. So I called the store to ask when the best time was to shop in person in order to find the basics for my family's meals. The person answering the phone had such a thick accent I could not understand her answers to my questions. She became frustrated at me for asking to repeat the information (I heard an audible sound of disgust) and then just hung up on me. I was not trying to be rude, just trying to decide if venturing out for the household groceries would be better than a delivery service. I understand that the stores have been hit hard but a little customer service could help S & F's customers remain loyal. read more

I and my best friend's daughter went to this Smart and Final last night, to buy foodstuff for my best friend/her mother's funeral, which is being held on Saturday. Produce was NOT up to par but figured since it was after 6pm the Produce people were gone. We decided we would come in the next morning and get the produce and meat we needed for the funeral. I bought a few things for home and then best friend's daughter was up to buy what she had picked up.for the funeral and went to pay for it from her parent's account, of which she was an authorized signer and held Power of Attorney for her parents. I wont go into the ins or outs of what happened but a 'Manager' was called up and then PUBLICLY humiliated her and treated her like she was a thief and less than dirt...because she did not have the POA with her. SHE did not know that she needed it for the check. SHE had not needed it at the Funeral Home or the Florist and did not realize (and hadnt been informed) that she needed to have it for each check written. This manager was loud and adamant that no way would they accept the check. She asked if she could call her father to authorize the check, he stated 'That could be anyone." in a very sneering and demeaning LOUD tone. There were other shoppers there within 10 feet of us. They all heard and witnessed this 'Manager's' loud voice and demeaning tone. So she paid cash and while the clerk was getting the change...she broke down and started to cry her heart out....she was embarrassed and scared...not to mention she has been under severe stress due to being the sole caregiver for her mother until her death. Which by the way i immediately let it be known to the cashier and manager. The Manager just walked away. The cashier was embarrassed. and looked away after she gave me the change. I got my friend's daughter out of there as soon as I could.. She was very upset and EXTREMELY embarrassed about what happened. I got her home and got her settled. Then I went back. I went straight to the cashier and asked for that manager's name. The cashier looked kinda scared, looked around, and spoke in a low voice, that the manger's name was Nick. I asked her if she had the corporate office's number, she again looked around and then said it was on the website. I thanked her and left. This morning I called the Store and spoke to the Store Manager and found out that 'Nick' is a Supervisor...not a Manager. I informed him of what transpired and asked that he review the tape of last night's situation. He stated he would and would let 'Nick' know what was appropriate and what was not. He stated he would have Nick call to apologize. I stated the following: Nick needs classes in Customer Service. Nick could of asked her to step away from the waiting customers to talk with her without making a scene. Nick could of apologized for the inconvenience and explained that it is company policy for people who hold POAs to have copies with them when a check is written from said acct. Nick could of offered to hold the groceries while she went to get the POA, and bring it back to get her groceries. I repeated all of this to the corporate offices...they said the same thing that the manager had said. All I am going to say to Smart and Final is this.... Last month I spent about $2500.00 in your store for the holidays and you are going to keep a Supervisor like that...with just a warning....tell them to be more courteous....that's not good enough. So I went to Winco and spent $300, got what I needed for my Best Friend's funeral. The best thing about Winco...I spent about 28% less there then I would of spent at Smart and Final ... and the produce was way better and cheaper. Smart and Final you lost any future business from me, some of my friends/acquaintances and my family....all due to Bad Customer Service from an untrained arrogant individual. read more

So I normally shop at other stores but happened to be in this area and stopped to grab a few things. I walked in and was determined to get in and out as quickly as possible. I grabbed what I needed in the produce section and then headed into the aisles. I found most of what I needed except one item. There was a man in the aisle using a scanner so I approached him (wasn't sure if he worked there because he was in a black polo style shirt and most workers had red T-shirts). I asked him for pancake mix and not only did he show me where it was, he walked me over to it. He was pleasant and offered anything else. I said no and he wished me a good day as they called his name on the pager system (Steven). I grabbed a couple items from freezer then made my way up front. There was a couple people ahead of me in line, and they opened up another register. The cashier was really friendly, fairly young. I was a little surprised when they scanned the bottom of my cart (I had nothing down there) but she briefly explained why. It was an overall nice experience and I'm not a big fan of grocery shopping on a Saturday (let alone on a rainy day) but I liked it at this location and next time I'm in the area I will definitely shop there. read more

Smart and Final has always been great with providing the best products. However, this was my first time ever experiencing such horrible customer service. I was just about finished shopping for everything I needed for my trip; I came up to the register and asked the clerk for assistance on a styrofoam cooler. She then gave me this look of disgust then proceeded to call one of the other workers for help. She asked me several times what it's called and I said,"Styrofoam cooler." She then directed me to go pick out which cooler I wanted. As I came back with the cooler, I saw her rolling her eyes and shaking her head to the customer that was checking out behind me. Clearly, this was about me. As I came back to check out the item, she didn't speak to me and just handed me the receipt without even acknowledging I was there. As I was putting my items into my cart I overheard her say, "I AM SOOO SORRY ABOUT THAT," to the customer behind me. I am not sure exactly what I did for her to give me attitude like this. I definitely do not appreciate how I was treated. It made shopping there extremely uncomfortable and I wish no one else experiences this. The cashier's name is Teresa. I had already filed a complaint to corporate. I do not wish for her to get fired but I do hope someone speaks to her about proper customer service. This was unacceptable. read more

This smart and final is horrible. Management sucks here and half the staff are slow and rude. The products here are not fresh at all. The mixed lettuce bags are always soggy and old. There fruit is not great either bought a bunch of them half were rotted. The Parsley was disgusting and super muddy in the inside. The health department needs to get in there and check it out. It is pretty bad. I bought some chicken from the there yesterday. Expiration date was for a week later. When I took it out the package it had a rotted smell.
