I rarely shop at any Smart & Final. A friend asked me to pick up 2 items that were on sale. Diet Pepsi and Wheat Thin crackers. I was passing this store on my way back to Placentia after having an early dinner at Soup N Fresh in Chino Hills. This store was a mess. I understand that it's the end of a holiday weekend but it was more than that. I was going to get one Dreyer's chocolate chip ice cream. The store had two. Both of them were crunched like they had thawed and someone grabbed them. Forget the ice cream. I noticed in the same aisle a frozen pizza box that was under like 4 or 5 other boxes and it was torn open. Nasty! They were out of the crackers so I asked for a rain check. The woman wrote it and then informed me that it could only be used at that store. I looked at her like she was crazy and walked out. The crackers were for a friend who lives in Buena Park. They have a Smart & Final there. Is my friend really going to drive to Yorba Linda for some crackers? Terrible customer service. I Googled the company policy and it says a rain check can be redeemed at any store. Just a rude power play by a woman who likely hates her job. read more

Every time I visit this location, it always has few customers. There are reasons for that, the produce section and meat section aren't fully stocked if you visit in the morning. And one out of five times, you won't able to get the meat that's on sale. This afternoon, the butcher suggested I get a rain check for the on sale meat (which they don't have any in stock, as expected). The lady at the checkout refused to give me any rain check for the reason that "the sale just started yesterday " :( Only thing I can say is....... Poor management. Single father with kids on food stamp trying to make it day in day out. Smart and final was having a new promo offering free delivery to include food stamp charges. I placed an order for $35.52 on may 18th via delivery. The order was improperly processed by Jesse and unfortunately they have no clue what is going on. I've been charged but they said my order was cancelled. Which it was...I never received my order via delivery. It's been almost 2 months and I still have no money. $35 may not be much but it sure can feed a bunch of kids. Miguel has been lacking on the follow through. I need this resolved asap. I usually shop at the store but lately they are out of everything all the time I buy their six pack of Crystal Geiser water large size lately they have not been on the shelf. I went in Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday today still no water on the shelf. I asked someone when they're going to get it said they didn't know no way to run a grocery store constantly out of things, it's a nice store, but I don't think they keep things stocked up well enough, especially when it comes to Perishables and water! read more

I stopped buying most items from S&F. I now go to Trader Joe's and Stater Bros. When Albertson's occupied this store, I bought everything in one place, now I go to two places. I occasionally go the S&F because it's close to home. I stopped using their digital app because it is so cumbersome. I buy a lot soda, but I buy it at Stater's because it's cheaper on sale and I don't have to screw around the the stupid app. I got tired of waiting in long checkout lines while people were trying to figure out the app with the checker. Most of the employees are in a bad mood (if you can find one). There overall prices really aren't that good. It's easier just to go to Trader's and/or Stater's. read more

I want to complement Smart & Final on their produce department at the Savi Ranch store. It is neat and clean and so well displayed that it makes me want to buy a little bit of everything. And the produce guy, Rick, is always so friendly every time I see him. It's nice to see that have a small but relatively complete selection of organic vegetables but I do wish they had more to select from by way of organic fruits. Bad service at this location. Drive up service took 20 minutes. I called after 10 minutes and had to wait another 10 minutes and then I decided to come inside to ask for the manager. Ethan, the manager, said sorry, but it seemed very mechanical. When I finally received the packages, there was a missing item and they gave me no receipt, so I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to sort out the reason why I was missing an item. I've only shopped at this Smart & Final location a couple of times so far and it's immediately turned into my go-to grocery stop. This is the cleanest and nicest Smart & Final Extra store I've been to yet! This store is massive and has a great selection of produce, baked goods, cheeses, meats, and even sushi along with the typical items you can find at any Smart and Final store (bulk-sized candy, restaurant cookware, etc.). I personally enjoy shopping here because it hasn't gotten too crowded the times I've gone here (even over the weekend!). The store is clean and the staff has been friendly. The check out counters are almost always have one cashier. They wait until the line gets long before the one cashier calls for assistance that is if he or she is noticed at all. Frustrating specially if you are in a hurry and only there to grab a few items. read more

By far, my favorite Smart & Final location! Their shelves are always well-stocked, whereas other locations are often missing the products I'm looking for. I love how they offer club pricing without the membership, yet the store still looks really pristine and organized. Surprisingly, they're easily on par with some of the more fancy specialty stores, yet they still have really reasonable prices. I wasn't sold on Smart & Final back in the day, but if more locations took a cue from this one, I dare to say I'd be a regular shopper! read more

I saw a great sale on frozen pizza but it needed the app. But, no wifi to access the app at the store. I let others in the line go before me while I searched for the app, and tried to figure out how to get the sale. The manager noticed that I have already spent so much time and she helped me. I was upset about the marketing that I had to spend so much time for the app, but was glad that workers and people in charge like the manager were still very much Americans -- friendly and helpful. Finally...Smart and Final Extra! Good riddens to Haagan and their over priced junk. Commerce-based Smart & Final has recently purchased numerous shops in Orange County including this location. The store is large and definitely has lower prices...and definitely an improvement. Look for deals including grand opening specials. I'm not a fan of Smart and Final in general. However, sometimes I am in this area and the location is definitely making me a fan of this shop. The parking lot is easy and the shopping plaza also sports a Schools First ATM, gas station, Waba Grill, Ruby's, donuts, eye brow waxing and even Thai food. There's also a recycling center. This Plaza is now complete and your one stop shopping for daily necessities can now be met! Finally, a decent place to pick up grocery items in the area! read more

I used to go to this location back when it was Albertsons through the 90s. Yikes! Coming back it's now Smart & Final Extra! and the interior is pretty dated but this is just like shopping at most Smart & Final stores when it comes down to it. Some decent deals to be found if you look hard enough for them. I prefer going to Albertsons-Vons for their stronger weekly discounts, deals and mobile app. read more

It's not just any Smart & Final, it's Smart & Final EXTRA! They have more than just restaurant/cooking stuff and grocery. They have Asian produce(Daikon radish, Jicama, Asian eggplant), bagel and donuts section, cakes, hibiscus flowers, real tamarind fruit and a sushi station coming soon! So exciting! It's big. The aisles are big. It's clean and organized. The staff are nice and friendly (keep a look out for one of the staff that looks like Drew Barrymore. She's a sweetheart!). Only thing I miss is the Deli and hot food station, but they do have prepared/packaged sides like macaroni salad, potato salad, guac and etc. They also have roasted chicken for $6. It's delicious and their macaroni salad is pretty yummy too! read more

I was headed to a buddy's place for a BYOB get together, and needed some beer for the BYO part. Hey, they have cold beer here, so that's a bonus. They also have lots of bulk foods, produce, and everything else Smart & Final has, including slow check out lanes. I don't know why they have so many registers and only open so few of them. Oh well. That said, I am a fan of the chain in general and this store is large and clean, so it makes me a fan of this location as well. Should I find myself having to jump off the 91 to pick up cold beer in the future, this is certainly an option. read more

Cool new Smart and Final extra in Yorba Linda. Been a long time shopper at these stores. Before the Price Club days. These new Extra Stores are another great option for us bargain shoppers. They pretty much have everything you will find at a regular super market, just not as many brand choices. Makes it easier to shop in think. The weekly specials are particularly good. Stock up and save. Nice liquor selection too. Great place to shop for a large family get together, barbecues, parties, etc. Love this new store! read more
