I called Smart Choice Appliance when my 10-year-old washing machine started making a lot of noise. After thoroughly checking the entire machine, the technician determined that leveling it would significantly reduce the noise - and it did! He gave us some good instruction on proper loading as well. I was so impressed with his thoroughness and honest assessment that I asked him to come back for another visit to check the rest of my appliances. During the 2nd visit he cleaned my dryer and found that the seals were worn, allowing lint to collect around the motor. There was a collection of lint equal to 2 softballs, in spite of my housekeeper having used a "Lint Lizard" on my vacuum to clean the dryer about 6 months ago. Perhaps my electric bill will be less now, and I expect that the life of my fridge will be extended as well as my dryer. Luke also discovered why the remote switch for my range hood wouldn't work; it was wired incorrectly! He also looked at an old receipt from a competing business and pointed out that I was grossly overcharged for parts for my washing machine. About 2 weeks later my washing machine developed a new, knocking noise. Luke returned and found a broken plastic brace. He replaced it with no charge, honoring his 30 day warranty on my appliances. This is an excellent company that I would highly recommend. Luke was friendly and very professional and was able to very quickly determine what was wrong with both our dryer and our garbage disposal - and was then able to repair both. I couldn't be happier - Luke was honest, reliable, clearly very competent and was a pleasure to deal with. He even took the time to show me how to maintain the garbage disposal properly in future. Unfortunately, I had initially used another company - Boca Appliance Services - and had a terrible experience (stay away). Needless to say, I won't be making that mistake again. Luke is the best hands down; do not go anywhere else! I commissioned his services a year ago, he went above and beyond to find the part for my fridge door handle. They aren't money hungry their goal is to actually fix the problem. The young woman who picks up the phone is equally as efficient. I am sad to learn they no longer service West Delray; come back add 33446. Nevertheless, I am stuck with using another local company who so far are rude and crude over the phone. My husband found this company through YELP and all I can say is THANK GOODNESS! We will be using them for all our future appliance repairs. They fixed our freezer/fridge and went above and beyond in the clean - up. A lot of dust builds up in 12 years behind the fridge...ick! Luke was courteous and professional. He ran a few minutes late but was kind enough to call and let me know. I had researched the common problems with the Kenmore fridge that had stopped cooling and knew ahead of time what the likely problems could be. When he arrived, he confirmed within 5 minutes that it was a relay, which was the least costly of the possibilities. Our GE Profile Stainless Steel Fridge was leaking fluid from somewhere inside and Smart Choice Appliance did fix it as well as a few other issues with the Refrigerator as per communication with us. Very good communication, would not do anything without us approving the repairs as well as the charges for the repairs. (As per other companies racking up charges first and asking later.) Called for service Sunday night got a call first thing Monday 9am and Luke showed up at 1pm fixed my stackable washer dryer by 2pm he had the parts he needed on the truck and the price was very reasonable. My Dryer was broken, got hustled by another company they charged me $575 for a part that was wrong. I called smart choice they repaired my dryer in a matter of 30 minutes the price was more than fair. and he made sure the dryer was clean and the dryer vent was open. Good people!! read more
