The garden department folks were exceptionally nice. We wanted 20 bags of mulch and someone came out to my truck and loaded most of the 40-50 pound bags for us. This was for a $40 order ! When I got home I noticed my order was wrong. I called to let them know that my order was wrong. I gave them the information on the piece that I didn't receive and requested that they have it ready for me. I told them that I had an extra part and asked if I can see the guy who brought me the incorrect piece to make the exchange. When I got there, the person who brought my order out wasn't there, so I thought I would go inside for help. I made the mistake of being patient and standing in line waiting for assistance. Then somebody else, walked in directly to the table and got to go in front of me. That person was helped immediately while 2 employees continued to keep their heads down without offering assistance. Finally I spoke up and asked for some assistance and I explained that I had the wrong piece, I gave them my order number and identified the piece that I was missing. While I was waiting the other 2 people looked up and asked if I was being helped. I was expecting for somebody to bring me the piece that I was missing. Eventually somebody else asked me what it was I was waiting for and they told me that I had to go find the piece that I ordered. At that point I asked them to cancel because I did not wish to look around the store for the correct piece without assistance. I can acknowledge that I should have checked my order before loading up my vehicle and then driving uncomfortably home. I made the mistake to assume the person getting my order together may verify and the person whom brought my items out, would check as well. But I didn't order curbside pickup so that I can go inside to be ignored, and then told that I had to find the item myself in the store. I don't expect their competitors to be any better at verifying items or providing any type of customer service experience. So suggest that if you use curbside pickup you verify the items before you drive off. I also suggest being aggressive if you need assistance, otherwise the staff here will ignore you.

We hired HK&B over 15 years ago and were pleased with their work. When it came time to do over…read morethe kitchen in our current home, we elected to use them again. Mike did a great job with our kitchen layout, Glenn and Don communicated well and the installers did a great job. The installers have excellent craftsmanship and are genuinely nice guys; they want you to be happy with the final product. Our job was finished in Aug 2021. We are happy with the final product and our kitchen looks great. A few items to note: 1. Mike is an awesome designer and nice guy but we needed to chase multiple times to get our plans after our deposit was paid. Mike had to personally drive over to get plans to us for a meeting with our general contractor which added additional stress. Communication and follow up could be improved. 2. Get installation costs in writing in your contract to avoid the actual cost being over what was verbally communicated. We ultimately arrived in a good place but the back and forth on this added stress. Would recommend HK&B.
