My family and I were looking at each other smiling because we couldn't believe how rude this woman was. She was rolling her eyes and just making us feel really uncomfortable the entire time. Unfortunately, today's experience was the opposite. What should've been a simple request turned into a wasted trip. The shelf was empty, but there was clearly more stock stored up top. I asked an associate if he could help retrieve it or call someone who could. Instead, he just pointed me to another associate who was already helping a customer, and offered no call for help, no follow-up, and no clear next step. I didn't expect anyone to drop what they were doing, but I did expect basic customer service--either call assistance, find the right person, or tell me where to wait. I ended up leaving my cart and buying the same items at Lowe's nearby. Home Depot: please coach associates to take ownership when a customer needs help accessing inventory. A quick page or radio call would've solved this in minutes.

I gave them the information on the piece that I didn't receive and requested that they have it ready for me. I told them that I had an extra part and asked if I can see the guy who brought me the incorrect piece to make the exchange. When I got there, the person who brought my order out wasn't there, so I thought I would go inside for help. I made the mistake of being patient and standing in line waiting for assistance. Then somebody else, walked in directly to the table and got to go in front of me. That person was helped immediately while 2 employees continued to keep their heads down without offering assistance. Finally I spoke up and asked for some assistance and I explained that I had the wrong piece, I gave them my order number and identified the piece that I was missing. While I was waiting the other 2 people looked up and asked if I was being helped. I was expecting for somebody to bring me the piece that I was missing. Eventually somebody else asked me what it was I was waiting for and they told me that I had to go find the piece that I ordered. At that point I asked them to cancel because I did not wish to look around the store for the correct piece without assistance. I can acknowledge that I should have checked my order before loading up my vehicle and then driving uncomfortably home. I made the mistake to assume the person getting my order together may verify and the person whom brought my items out, would check as well. But I didn't order curbside pickup so that I can go inside to be ignored, and then told that I had to find the item myself in the store. I don't expect their competitors to be any better at verifying items or providing any type of customer service experience. So suggest that if you use curbside pickup you verify the items before you drive off. I also suggest being aggressive if you need assistance, otherwise the staff here will ignore you.
