From the moment that I contacted Andrea Landaverde, the owner of Smart House Cleaning, she was courteous, professional, and conscientious. Andrea was easily reachable via phone and text, and extremely responsive. Andrea and her husband provided me with an excellent estimate for bi-monthly cleanings of my parent's home. On the first day that Rosalva and Luisa arrived, we were greeted with happy and kind faces that were so very polite and professional. They heartily tackled my mother's bathroom which had seen better days about 10 years ago. We were astounded by the incredible amount of hard work and tireless effort in cleaning that Luisa took to get the bathroom so immaculate. My mother was in such happy shock when she arrived home to see all the sparking bathrooms and sparkly floors. Rosalva was so diligent with cleaning our walls, baseboards, dusting furniture, and ridding any and all cobwebs, the kind of stuff that I so dislike doing. We have a rather large 2,345 square feet one story home and I am a very particular and fastidious cleaner myself, but I was amazed and so impressed by the super clean appearance of all of our laminate wood floors. No streaks at all because of the concoction of vinegar that Rosalva and Luisa use. I recommend this type of mopping. It's clean and environmentally friendly. These two ladies are so diligent about entering the house and getting the job done to their best ability. They are quiet, friendly, and dutiful, hard workers. They even skipped their lunches on their first day. I was so concerned about them being too hungry and working too hard without a meal. I've been meaning to write this well deserved review for a long time and finally after 5 years I've done it! I've used Andrea and Josue's cleaning service twice a month for my home and business since 2013. They are outstanding. Andrea and Josue are very friendly, personable and professional. I've always been very happy with the results. They're always great about accommodating my cleaning requests if they have the time ( i.e. I'll pull out the stove or refrigerator and request the floors and surfaces are cleaned behind them or I need some walls sprayed and wiped down etc. ) They have a general checklist of normal cleaning tasks they do for you but if you have areas you want them to focus on they can do that if you ask them. Windows cost extra and if it's dirtier than average or a huge cleaning job it will cost extra as well, which is normal. I've had them do deep cleanings for my business after some major roof work was done on the interior and plaster was everywhere and they did a beautiful job. If they accidentally miss anything you needed done just let them know and they'll touch up, no worries. If it's not Andrea or Josue that comes to clean they have great staff that they send out. This is family business and it's reflected in the friendly staff and the warm and friendly demeanor of Andrea and Josue. I had this company come three times for the last three months to clean. The first time they did a good job, not great. They do not do deep clean. The second time they missed different things. I brought it to the Andrea's attention and they came back the next day and it was better. They came the 3rd time on 7/26 and there were many concerns. First they were supposed to arrive between 8-8:30, they arrived at 7:30 which my husband was not happy with since we told them in the past we needed to rush to get our kids ready and out of the house. Second we do not wear shoes on the carpet and the cleaners came in with shoes and walked on the carpet. It's interesting when they came in the past they always removed their shoes. Third, the cleaning was horrible!!! They missed so many spots in the house. I immediately informed Andrea and sent pictures and she apologized & said she would give me half off of my next cleaning. I told her I had already given them too many chances and to take me off their monthly schedule. Not worth $145. I would not recommend this company. read more

I drove all the way from Whittier to Long Beach to meet the owners for an estimate. I got an inflated price, but was in a major time crunch to turn around a property so I agreed. The next day I waited at the time they had given me to let them in through the security gates. After standing outside with 2 children for 15 minutes, I called and was told that if I looked at my estimate, I would see that the time listed was 11-11:30 as the meeting time. So I should keep waiting. On checking my quote I did, in fact, find that the time WRITTEN down was 11-11:30. So, I was unhappy, but continued waiting. Finally at 11:31 I received a text saying that they were 10 minutes away. Now, 40 minutes after our appointment time, I was still waiting and received yet another text that the crew was now "on the 405" and just 10 minutes away. AGAIN? I pointed out that I had been told that 10 minutes ago. After this company wasted plenty of my time and gas, I texted that I was leaving and I found another company to use. Exactly one minute later I got a text saying "We're here". At the very least, I expect a company to let me know they are going to be late BEFORE they are late...not 10 minutes after. And then, don't lie to me and tell me you're 10 minutes away...twice! read more

First off let me say that if I could give less than a one star review I would. I had called this company last minute to get my apartment cleaned. I'm grateful that they were able to accept me on such short notice but the cleaning that I received was much less than anyone would expect, especially for the price I paid. I paid $95 to have my kitchen and living room cleaned since the lady said she did not have time for anything else. She threw away expensive alcohol that my grandfather had given me, she threw away prescription medication that I need on a day to day basis. When I had come to see the final outcome I was very greatly disappointed. She, at best, dusted a few things and washed some dishes, all things I could have done myself in half the time. I would definitely not use them again. I picked them due to the pictures that they posted but i was diappointed. They did not get the soap scum out like they said they would. They did clean, its not like they didn't do anything, but i was expecting them to do what they said they would do. I was especially disappointed at the areas that they did not clean, that were simple to clean. All i did was take a wet paper towel and cleaned it. I have to now go clean the bathrooms and finsh the rest of the house. I used them because i was pressed for time but who wants to clean after you pay over 200 for a cleaning service. I left a message and got a call back quickly and they were out to my house the next day for an initial walk through. At that time I was given a very reasonable quote, and they were able to come back the very same day to clean my house! I couldn't be happier with the job they did. The two girls who came out were friendly, professional, and they cleaned EVERYTGING. They even did my dishes! I couldn't be happier with my experience with Smart Cleaning. I have tried other services in the past and have always been disappointed because in the beginning they do a great job but after a few months the quality of their work drops. The house cleaning was extremely poor. Not only were area's poorly cleaned but other areas were ignored altogether. They charged $230 and I would have been disappointed even if they charged only $50. We renovated our house just in the last few months so the toilets are basically about brand new as with other areas of the house. No calcium build up, etc so when they were still showing rings I knew how bad the cleaning was before even inspecting the rest of the house. The floors/carpet were either barely touched or not touched at all. The house was basically given a very light once over with no scrubbing whatsoever. I have no idea how this company got any good reviews, the only thing I can think of is that if you're house is barely dirty, you wouldn't notice how bad the cleaning is. read more

What a disappointment. After returning home after 2 hours to check on progress, I discover that the 2 house cleaners have cooked their lunch on my stove using my pots and pans and are about to sit down at my dining room table to enjoy it. After 2 hours they had cleaned 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and the rest of the house was a wreck. What a disappointment. What a breech of trust. I wanted to give them 2.5 starts but I could only give 2 or 3. I have used this cleaning service for approximately 5 years. They were wonderful for most of this time. However recently I have noticed that they were using items in my home to assist them with their cleaning, going into my closet to find and use items such as my vacuum cleaner and step stools. This would not be a problem if I had been notified of this by them. I had been told that they would provide all of the cleaning products and materials. I turned a blind eye to this for a long time until one day I returned home to find my vacuum cleaner just thrown back into the closet without having the cord replaced properly. Then following my complaint about this there have been two times in the last two months where, after 5 years, they have simply forgotten to put me on the schedule. I have pets which I confine for the day so that they can come in and clean without having to worry about the animals. It is quite an effort to do this and if they don't show up, my pets are confined in one room together for no good reason. The first time that I was left off of the schedule there was no explanation. The second time I was told that they had "lost" all of their "things". Their phone was lost, and purse and the list went on. I was surprised that one would run a business this way. Without backups of their planning and customer information? Really? I am often out of my house for long hours so I didn't become aware that they had not come to clean my home until I arrived home at 10pm. I phoned them at this time to ask why they had not cleaned my home again and I was given the excuse of the lost phone. Honestly if they had decided that they did not want to clean my house any longer, they could have just expressed that fact to me. I did express this to them and they said that they did want to continue to clean my house but when I said that I think that we would part ways now, they just accepted my decision to do so as if this was the intention all along. I am very hurt and upset by the lack of professionalism that they showed me. I would not recommend them at this point to anyone. It makes me sad. I just wish they had been straight forward and honest with me. I shouldn't have to call them every day that I am to be scheduled for a cleaning to verify that my cleaning will occur. Beware! I would have given them only one, but the immediate response and promptness of Josue was great. The cleaning...meh! Two women came to my house and started by doing little things in every room of my house. After two hours, no single room was completed and there was my furniture, dust and cat hair everywhere. I asked how much longer, as I have a business and needed to make a delivery. I was told "an hour or so", but they called Josue and he told me only a half hour. Well, over an hour later, they headed out my door. I notified them that they didn't even vacuum my large rug in the den...it was covered in cat litter and dirt. And, my hallway wood floors were not cleaned either. They came in and rushed another 15 minutes to complete this. Now, after looking around, all pictures on the wall are crooked, items are moved to different areas and not arranged...just piled. My armoire has not been dusted and the items on top are filthy. My bedroom TV wires have cat hair and dust all over them and my bathroom curtains have cat hair on the bottom foot of the four panels. In another room, there were clumps of cat hair all around the underside of the bed and in the room corners. My living room chair was still covered in cat hair and there are cobwebs all over the ceilings. Some furniture pieces have not even been touched, as I can see cat foot prints on them. Additionally, they finished the job by hosing off my front porch...something that is illegal in the City of Long Beach due to drought conditions. I would NEVER use this company again, as I spent another couple of hours fixing what was not done. read more
