I noticed that the oven had not been cleaned properly, and the window sills were still dirty. Given that an hour remained, I would have expected the oven to be cleaned thoroughly especially since that was one of my primary concerns. I ended up cleaning the oven and redoing the window sills myself. When I contacted customer service and sent photos, I received a call from someone named John. Rather than listening to my concerns, he was somewhat condescending and emphasized their terms and conditions stating that if they couldn't get to everything in the time allotted, then it simply wouldn't get done. He also pointed out that I had declined a more expensive service, which, while true, was still my choice as the customer. He offered to possibly send someone back, but I was on a tight schedule and needed to turn my keys in to my property manager. In the end, I paid $168 for a service that I had to redo myself. They don't offer refunds, and their terms (which I actually read) threaten a $5,000 fee for chargebacks something that feels extremely aggressive. Unless you just need a light surface cleaning and don't mind doing touch-ups yourself, I wouldn't recommend this service. The owner even attempted to deny the fact that the work was not done up to par and said that i attempted to extort a small business. This is about principle, not the $168. The service was not completed properly the first time. The cleaner had time to clean the upstairs bathroom, something that wasn't even a priority, but didn't finish the oven, which was. That tells me the hour wasn't spent on what was agreed upon. I'm well within my rights to share my firsthand experience, especially when the work paid for wasn't delivered. The most unprofessional and horrendous house cleaning service I've ever used! It started with Valery coming two hours late! Valery said she would come with her partner, however, came alone. We have a two bedroom condo with the floor steamed and tiles professionally cleaned prior to her arrival. No furniture in the condo since we were putting it on the market in a few days. We agreed on a $100 for less than a 1000 square foot condo with no furniture. When she showed up, she said sorry too much work - and asked for $130. My husband agreed...I was pissed off for the lack of ethics. She did a horrible job! When my realtor came to view the property prior to listing the condo. He said ...cleaners did a subpar job. I contacted Valery 7/3 and she said on she will contact me on 7/5 to come back to finish her job. That never happened! Don't use her... 7/12...I'm updating the review - Valery did end up contacting me on Sunday 7/9. She apologized and explained she had a medical emergency. She came back to clean and did a very thorough job! With that said, on Monday we had our agent take potential buyers to the property- my agent said the property looked very good and we got a cash offer last night! I used HHC to get my brothers home tidied up before he returned home after a long stay in the hospital. I had made it clear that basic cleaning was needed, kitchen counter/floors, vacuum, etc... but that my brothers room needed the most attention. Let's say I paid extra for the extra time they spent on the kitchen but when my parents went to get groceries in the house for him, they were shocked at how little they did. Did not do simple dusting of surfaces that clearly needed it and didn't vacuum the downstairs which needed it the most (my brothers dog is a crazy guy). They did give a small refund so I appreciated that, however, I would say if you are going to use them, clarify alllll that you want or ask what they charge and what it includes. read more

Recently hired Valerie for a move-out clean on a one bedroom apartment with all laminate flooring and carpet in the bedroom. The building management required the carpet be professionally cleaned. All in all the work was fair. In the pursuit of saving time I had done a decent amount of cleaning on my own days before, inside oven (I always line it with tin foil so clean up is pretty much just throwing it out), inside fridge, microwave, shower tub, and inside most cabinets and drawers. Movers came early and cleared out the place, only 700 sq.ft. She did a pretty thorough job wiping down the surfaces and stainless appliances in the kitchen and bathroom. Swept and mopped hardwoods, wiped down the baseboards that accumulated heavy dust, wiped down window sills, all the usuals. She even swept up the dust bunnies on the side of the washer and dryer in the closet. She had a pro wet vac for the carpet cleaning and was thorough. The biggest problem was she was supposed to have a helper with her and didn't. Someone did show up after she was done (she made multiple calls to try and get someone to come out), bad coordinating. She was also an hour and a half late, which was not good since we were supposed to start driving north as soon as things were wrapped up. Moving is always such a pain, I've done it plenty of times. I guess her permanent helper disappeared the day before. She was responsive to calls and texts about 80% of the time in setting things up. You could tell she was a bit stressed out with the day. Invoicing was easy through email, text via PayPal so I could download and send to management as proof of services. Her pricing is very reasonable. We just paid cash. I think things would have gone much smoother if she had her helper and wasn't pressed for time working from 5 PM until 8 PM. Since things were rushed you kind of had to be specific about what needs cleaning or she might gloss over it. The management at some of these apartments can be really picky and will try to ding you for everything, so it's good to have cleaners that do even the simple stuff, like wiping down the walls from dust build up. She is nice and definitely works hard. I believe she is honest and I don't doubt children and life sometimes throw curve balls. I think she just needs to get her assistance needs sorted out ahead of time. It'd make everything much much smoother. read more

We tried Happy House Cleaners today. The service they provide is not a good fit for us. The attention to detail was not what we have experienced with other cleaning services at similar price points. One striking example was a visibly dirty squatty potty next to a toilet that she cleaned. We thought this strange because she did a decent job cleaning the toilet, but didn't bother with the squatty potty. As we made our way through the rest of the house we noticed a number of similar oversights, especially with dusting decors and cleaning stainless steal appliances. We ended up spending a couple hours re-cleaning the house after the Happy House Cleaners finished. We gave Happy House Cleaners a try because of all the five star reviews. The price seemed to be decent for an hour's worth of work at $75 for a basic cleaning, but when I pay someone to clean a small, 670 sq ft condo, I expect them to do a thorough job when I'm a first time customer; first impressions and all, not to mention it's a business that has a lot to do with referrals. Having used other services in the past, I can say that Valerie and Jerry are by far the best cleaning cleaning crew that I've ever used. I had to clean out my husband's grandmothers home after she was placed in a care facility and Valerie and Jerry help me through every piece of it. (The house is over 5,000 sqft.) Valerie and Jerry came multiple times over the course of five weeks. They communicated very well with me about their schedule and times that they were going to arrive. We have used this service a few times now, and we are so happy with the results! Have you ever had a cleaning service come in and when you open the door, you can't breathe from the strong cleaning chemicals? Seemed nice enough, but did not provide the service requested (move-in deep cleaning). Did not bring step stools or extensions in order to reach higher corners and shelves, which were still caked in half an inch of dust after the cleaning. Several drawers in the kitchen and bathroom had not be touched at all, with the dirty liners from the previous owner still inside. Streaks were also left on all windows and mirrors throughout the house. Floors and counters were good, so they may be perfectly serviceable for a normal weekly or bi-weekly cleaning. However, I was charged for a deep cleaning and instead got a bunch of cut corners. Am currently looking for a regular cleaner for our new house after our move-in, and after this experience, I will definitely not be hiring Happy House Cleaners again. read more

We hired Valerie to clean our house on a biweekly basis. Her pricing is fair and reasonable. She actually quoted me exactly what my previous cleaner charged me without me having to even say how much I used to pay. She accepts payment through PayPal which is a nice feature especially when I forget to get cash the night before she comes. She's responsive to text and phone calls. She does a great job and is attentive, accommodating, and an all around nice person. She can basically restore anything to look like new. As mentioned by other reviewers, she runs late due to personal issues, but hey, I'm not one to judge because I myself cannot get anywhere on time. I don't mind it either as long as she notifies me in advance and keeps me posted, which she does. Sometimes I need to push back our regularly scheduled date/time and she was cool about that, so it works both ways. I imagine that if you let her know that time is extremely sensitive for the job then she would put in her best efforts to make sure it happens. BUT, she's worth waiting for. My last cleaner did a horrible job and I didn't realize it until Valerie came and cleaned it all up. I had a new kitchen sink installed and my two bathrooms were remodeled while I had my last cleaner.. well, she just let it go soooo bad. There were hard water and build up EVERYWHERE, everything that was new became old over the years because of her. I spent good money on those fixtures and paid her to keep it looking new. Seriously, I thought it was over and there was no going back or hope for it. That was until Valerie showed up and my freaking kitchen sink is like new again! I haven't seen it like that since I bought the damn thing. My bathroom fixtures are looking great, everything is looking like when I first bought them a few years back. Valerie and her helper go hard at it the whole time and gets done fast. Toot it and boot it, no straggling so she's out fast and onto her next job. That's great for me because my dogs don't like being cooped up for long periods when they normally run freely in the house. She doesn't leave things for the next time as my last cleaner did very often; which is probably why everything had hard water build up. If she misses something she is more than willing to correct it. Last week I called HAPPY HOUSE CLEANERS to clean my home. I'm really glad I did. Valerie, and Gloria arrived when they said they would. Extremely professional, and detail oriented. Once they saw the size, and mess they were gonna have to deal with I was told they would have my place clean within 3hours and once they were done 3HRS later I was extremely satisfied with how clean my place was. They agreed to them, but there was no follow-through. I expected a deep, thorough cleaning of the entire place. However, all I got was light dusting, counters that were lightly wiped down, baseboards that were still covered in dust, carpets that were lightly vacuumed, doors and cabinets still covered in dirt and grime, and blinds that weren't even addressed (I paid extra to have this handled).
