They sent someone with obvious mental issues and very dirty attire and hands to my house by the name of Danny.He got here 15 minutes late he took 2 screens out and then he disappeared. I looked all around and couldn't find him. Finally I look in parking lot and he's sitting in his car. I called him and asked him what is happening and he said l, I am entitled to 15 minutes break every 2 hours. He hadn't been here even for an hour. Then he comes back and does the smallest window I see there's smudges on it and point it out and then he says I can't do this and walks out. With all this happening to me they didn't even apologize for sending an obvious dirty and mentally unstable person and sent me a text that my expectation was too high. I am a many times repeat customer, and couldn't be happier with this year's experience. The person who came did a really good job, was mindful and friendly and (aware, worked steadily, and did my many multi-paned windows (some requiring a ladder) at the speed only one other window cleaner ever has. I was prepared for it to take hours longer (price doesn't change, but I'm glad to have a person be quick). This company is very easy to deal with, and I appreciate the postcard reminders they send each spring. My neighbors also use this company and had their windows done earlier in the summer, and they were very happy too. read more

"Smart" is the most inappropriate name for this company and my recommendation is if you use them you are foolish - be warned. I had an excellent job by employee Devin last year but unfortunately, he is no longer with the company. I made an appt 60 days ahead, reconfirmed and was reconfirmed and texted 2 mins before time the co needed to reschedule! They confirmed it would absolutely, definitely be completed 2 days later since I had to move furniture, rugs, lamps, drapes & window coverings in advance. Co reconfirmed the next day but the am before appt another reschedule request! Clearly, lies, mismanagement & incompetence. Smart Windows showed up on time, but that was the best part of their service. After their cleaning, my windows looked just as dirty as before. A neighbor who saw them from the street said, "To be honest, this doesn't look like a very good job. You should call and have them come back and fix this." When I called, Damon said that my window-washer had reported that the windows were stained, but that they could come back with a special solution and try again. I said that would be great, but then Damon said I'd have to pay the full price I'd paid before for them to do so! I pointed out that I shouldn't have to pay again for them to fix what had not been done satisfactorily the first time. Damon then said that my windows had probably been stained like this for decades. I told him they weren't like this when I'd bought the place two years prior, and then he said, "Well, I didn't stain the windows. It's not my responsibility to fix them!" I was flabbergasted. Imagine going into a mechanic's shop with, say, a broken timing belt in your car, and having the mechanic tell you, "I didn't do that to the car. It's not my responsibility to fix it!" Or going into a doctor's office with a broken arm, and having the doctor say, "I didn't do that to your arm. It's not my responsibility to fix it!" Of course, it is the responsibility of the person you hire to do a medical procedure or to repair or clean something to do what you've hired them for! I feel a professional window-washer, in addition to not charging extra to fix what they'd overlooked, would have explained to me at the start of the cleaning that the windows were stained and would require extra cleaning. They should have told me that a standard washing would not improve their appearance, and then they should have told me the true cost of what it would take to get my windows clean. None of this happened, and I definitely don't recommend this company. read more

Don't use this company you will be sorry. They damaged every screen in my house. These guys are a blow and go company that could care less about your house. They used a screw driver to remove screens from outside rather then using the tabs on the inside of the screen. read more

Very disappointed. Can't believe I am writing this review about paid professionals. Said they would charge $80/person-hour. Two workers worked 1 hour & 40 minutes each, with reasonable break time included, for a total of 3 & 2/3 person-hours. That would be a charge of $294. However, they wanted to charge me $400 at the end of the job. I wrote a check for $320 which would cover 4 person-hours. Later I walked around the house and found: Streaked, smudged dirty windows with scratches I don't previously recall. Broken screens. Broken off metal screen frame tabs that one uses to maneuver the screens. The workers left some of them on my desk but did not tell me. Dried drippings from their dirty soap water buckets were scattered around the house. I let the manager of the business know. Update: Smart Window Cleaning states they will have broken screens repaired, address windows that weren't well cleaned & charge work fairly. Will update when all work is done. read more

I hired them to clean windows at a house that I was putting on the market soon. They did a terrible job and when I called them they said it was my fault for not explaining how dirty the windows were. They were charging be my the hour and never communicated that the job was not complete. He finally hung up on me after I said that he should have told me if they needed more time or had issues with the condition of the windows. I've been using Smart Window Cleaning for several years and they had done a great job - except for this year. I hired them to wash the windows, clean the gutters and power wash the deck. I told the person who booked the appointment, Damien, that we had just had the decks refinished last year and if the person who was going to clean the decks if they could be careful. They weren't. In fact I have been getting quotes to have the deck re-stained. It is awful. One painter who came by told me that whoever cleaned the deck should never pick up a power washer again. I also had a very similar experience to what another poster stated with the person they sent to clean the windows. He complained when he got here that the job was too big. Then he complained that they weren't sending more people and that I should call the office. Then he complained about his co-worker. They were not coordinating their efforts and had to repeat some work. It was awful. I did call the office and told him that they needed to send someone else to finish the job and they did the next day, but he never asked a single question. He gave me a bunch of attitude too. If I could give a zero I would. Total lack of professionalism. The guy that came out was rude and borderline scary. I was given a quote of $260-$285. Half way through once the interior was done the cleaner came to me and said half the job is done and it took him X amount of time, so inorder to finish the price is now $390. So their quote means absolutely nothing. The work was completed not the best job I have ever seen. Two screens were ripped which I noticed later - the guy never bothered to tell me. But when I heard him cussing all the swear words while rinsing the screens out on my deck - I should have known something was up. Called the office to voice concern/complaint never got a call back - assume this must be routine for them. Do not recommend these people at all. The worst. I have told all my neighbors so I doubt they will be welcomed back to this neighborhood. read more

I was thoroughly disappointed with their most recent window cleaning service. Last year Damon sent 2 people to clean one side of a duplex in Tiburon and they cleaned all the windows and did a decent job, and worked quickly, NOT cleaning screens or tracks of the sliding glass doors, but at least cleaning the glass. This year, i was told the charge would be the same, two different workers arrived at 8:30 am , and spent 15 minutes checking out the view and even walking down to the boat deck (no windows there!). They cleaned i level of my 3 level home: my l.room and kitchen windows and stairwell, and left two entire floors untouched (all bedrooms and office level), and by 9:25 am, was smoking a cigarette at their truck, loading up, and departed at 9:30 am, charging the same as last year, when they cleaned all windows in this duplex! I have used Smart Window cleaning for 5 of my rental properties in the past---needless to say, disappointing this time around. read more

While Theo was very pleasant, the job he did was sub-par. Windows had some streaks and screens had dust and fuzz left on them. The bottom of the window sills were left uncleared entirely, something previous window cleaners have always taken care of. The quote was for $330 but I was charged $390 because cutouts took more time than expected. It caused Theo to have to rush through the job, too. We arranged for Smart to wash our windows, screens, and gutters. When the technicians arrived, we also asked them to clean the skylights. They said no problem, they would take care of them. The servicemen were friendly, but were not careful replacing objects back after moving them. We also noticed water drips on the hardwood floors. After the technicians left, we noticed large and small water stains on a wooden chest located under our living room skylight. These water stains were NOT there prior to Smart's visit. A Smart representative arrived late to assess the damage the following day, and denied any responsibility, claiming there was no way this could be their fault. We later called to follow up, and were told that Smart hadn't cleaned our skylights during that appointment, and had told us we needed to make a separate appointment for that purpose -- which was completely untrue. After several minutes, the man admitted he had confused us with another customer and that that they had indeed cleaned our skylights. He suggested that our skylight had a leak (which it does not). Smart's lack of professionalism, defensiveness, deflection, and unwillingness to assume responsibility and work toward resolution are not smart. We would never use them again. read more

He returned calls promptly and was totally polite and courteous. Eric came out to our home and did an amazing job. He was respectful of our space, quiet and very polite. There were some windows that were particularly difficult to get to that required moving a very difficult-to-move-thing and he was upfront about it and gave us options. Our windows were DISGUSTING. I have a two story house on a hill and they needed special ladders to reach the top floor. They were very easy to work with, pleasant, polite, fast, efficient, meticulous and did an excellent job. Smart Window Cleaning came yesterday. My windows look great, and the person who did the windows was professional, steady, and very nice to have around. I've lived here a long time and have had different people wash the windows. I have a pretty good idea how long it takes, and this job came in right on the mark--fast enough that I could have a few things done that I sometimes skip (like the interior glass doors, which I can do myself). Not cheap, not more expensive than I expect. I expect expensive--this work involves being on ladders. But the places that charge by the pane rather than by the hour would be impossible for me, as my house is all French windows and doors. And, what a joy today to be looking out through clear glass! I will use Smart Window Cleaning again, and hope for the same person to come here. read more
