Hey, hey! For this review, we found ourselves in Columbia, South Carolina. My sister and I were out running errands and decided to grab some lunch. She told me about a burger spot she likes to visit whenever she's in Columbia--one I had never heard of before. And you already know I'm always down for a good burger. When we got there, there were so many options to choose from. She suggested I try the Brussels sprouts. Now don't get me wrong--I love Brussels sprouts--but I had to pause for a second and ask myself if I really wanted Brussels sprouts from a burger spot. I wasn't sure how they'd be... but hey, I'm always willing to try something new. Of course, you know I had to order fries too. I ended up ordering a double burger--I can't remember the exact name, but it came with two patties. I love burgers, but I usually skip tomatoes and onions and keep everything else on. Let me tell you--the food was delicious. Normally, we'd wait until we got home to eat, but not this time. We had more errands to run, so we ate while the food was still hot. The burger was well-cooked, flavorful, and not overly salty. The fries were good, but let me tell you about those Brussels sprouts--they were amazing. They came with a ranch-style dressing and were absolutely on point. I had to order another side because they were that good. Yes, they're a little greasy, but totally worth it. Here for lunch Saturday. Had mushroom Swiss Smashburger and the rosemary truffle fries. Food excellent but wasn't impressed with the hostess/waitress. Very slow. Nobody was around when we entered. Took several minutes before cashier came out. Our food was up and set on the counter about five minutes before she brought it out to us. Have much better service at the site over near Whole Foods. Eight of our ROMEO lunch group were here Tuesday. I've been to this site about three times since it opened but none of our other guys had been. Ever since I had the Mushroom Truffle Smashburger I won't order anything else. Since we've been evaluating burger places lately and our group had never visited her I figured we should give it a try. I recommended the Truffle Mushroom Burger and also getting the Smash Fries over the regular fries. Four of out group had this and every single one thought it was great. One made the comment that this was the best burger he's had. One of us ordered a double Smashburger of some kind and he pretty much had the kitchen sink on it (bacon, lettuce, ketchup, mustard, and maybe cheese). He rated his burger as a 3.0. The other three guys that ordered the basic smash burger rated them higher, but had comments such as it's as good as Top Dawg, etc....but really didn't say too much. They also didn't order the Smash Fries. The restaurant was very clean, floors must've just been mopped. Definitely one of the better burgers to enjoy out of Columbia. Patties are thin and freshly cooked. Perfect balance of good burgers followed by fair pricing. Their menu is fairly diverse with limited edition specials available. They have classic burgers to chicken, side options, kids menu, and milk shakes to choose from. As a first timer, the manager helped me with recommendations. Super nice guy and definitely one of the most helpful managers I've got to interact with at a fast food establishment. I ended up trying out the Jalapeño BBQ bacon Stack smash burger and their classic burger. I got a side of classic fries (they are very thin) and despite wanting to try out their strawberry milkshake, sadly it was sold out. Order turn around time was pretty quick, I waited less than 10 minutes and I was on my way back home. Overall, food was great, customer service matched the food quality. Today I was so excited to try Smash Burger for the first time. What a complete disappointment my boyfriend suggested .I requested a large fry however the amount of fries in the large box was filled up to only 50% of the box . My classic smash burger was very sloppy. The wrapping of the sandwich looked as if it was just thrown in the paper, and not professionally wrapped like other fast food restaurants. I love smashburger and try to come when I'm in town since the one in Atlanta closed down. The salted caramel shake is the best! I hate they stopped giving the cup they mixed it in bc that was like another half cup of a shake lol but I'm sure with covid they don't want people with their mixing cups anymore. There used to be an older man that worked there, took your order and served your food with a smile, always friendly. However now there is an older woman that has taken over who seems to always have a bad attitude. As soon as we walked in during the last visit she didn't greet us but with a scowl said "LUNCH SPECIAL OVER!". Despite her attitude we sat down but the food served was bad... real bad. No meat in the japchae, she snatched my daughter's food bc we said it was made too spicy. I would lie if I said that I wasn't impressed with their store. It was very nice and felt like a hangout spot more than anything else. The food is very VERY costly. But I can't lie and say that it wasn't worth the cost. Unfortunately for me, the day I went I received below average customer service with CSR's taking my order, not assisting when I asked for ideas as a first time customer, and more. Decent serving size. The fries are good. Shoestring but a little thicker. For two people to eat, it was 19$. I got water, and we also shared fries. Kind of pricey to me. The restaurant was basically empty and we waited about 5-10 min for our food. I think the burgers are made to order. The food here is really good and I've never had a bad experience with it so far. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the wait of the drive thru line. I waited in line for 35 minutes and there's no way to get out of line once you're in it. Every other time I've been here it's been at least a 25 minute wait. I met up with a friend of mine and my mom to have lunch. We waited at the counter for a few minutes before we were greeted and helped. The workers saw us come in but no one was at the counter. The signage posted stated the workers would make our drinks but we were handed cups and fixed our own drinks. This location has a drive thru. As we were leaving. My mom and friend noted the guy the window servicing those orders has on sandals instead of closed toe shoes. I love Smashburger; they have incredible food. I used to go once every few weeks. However, you shouldn't go to Smashburger if you're in a rush. Whether there's one car or six in line, the drive thru will take at least 30 minutes. The service is off and on.
