Stopped at Waffle House for breakfast and was quickly greeted by the workers as we walked in. Our sever, Alicia, was very friendly and attentive to our table the entirety of our visit. She took our orders as soon as we sat down and our food came out fresh and hot. Alicia also made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond for our table. This review is for the WH at the corner of hwy378 and Charter Oak Rd. Sorry there is no listing for that location. (Maybe the same reginal manager will see this) So, Myself, wife and son enter and there are only people at two other tables. (NOT BUSY) We sit down and order drinks and meals. I'm only going to talk about my meal bc thiers was ok, not great but ok. I order a Texas bacon cheesesteak and double hashbrowns. (No onions on the sandwich or hashbrowns.) I don't want onions. 20 minutes later the waitress comes over and says she's sorry but she forgot to call our order to the cook. (YOU HAD ONE JOB) ok, now the kicker, when we get our food, my serving of hashbrowns is the same size as wife and sons (They got a single) AND HAS ONIONS IN IT. SO DOES THE SANDWICH. We were so happy when they finally opened this newly renovated Waffle House. Then....we woke up from a bad dream. It was like,hey! WTF happened? This was always the best WH in the area. ALWAYS!! After a bad experience almost 2 months ago at another one in the area,we were surely think this won't happen again. Not here! WRONG!! So...the crew was obviously overwhelmed by the 8 customers they had. They looked uninspired and uninterested in doing their jobs. Final straw was the food was touched by 4 different people. Half had gloves on. Ok.. but they were not constantly changing them like they do at SUBWAY. Not that I'm a fan of them. At least I can see what's going on. They literally flipped my omelette on the plate with their hands. Then the other cook moved it from one side to the other. Unbelievably nasty! While the food was good, the service was horrible. I don't know her name but the cook was very rude, she's a small petite woman with a pixie cut and she was shaming me and my best friend while we ate. I forgot to ask for a piece of cheese for my grits and she was making rude comments about me to the other workers and she refused to serve us until my friend put on a bigger shirt. I've been to a handful of Waffle Houses, so I know what to expect. I didn't get that here. I was greeted and I placed my order (waffle, eggs over medium, chunked and covered, wheat toast dry and coffee). As usual, the staff working is a friendly team and I enjoy watching them joke and josh with the regulars who frequent this location. After placing my order, it took a good five minutes for the gal to bring my coffee cup, which strangely came from the other side of the kitchen when I was sitting right next to a perfectly good coffee pot on the warmer. Food arrived in stages. I was halfway through eating my waffle (which I prefer to eat last, but I didn't want it to get cold) when the eggs and hash browns arrived. I'd finished my waffle when the toast made it to my table. Aside from the timing of it's arrival, everything was cooked exactly as I ordered it (well, maybe the waffle was a little overdone, but that's nitpicking). But what bugged me was that my coffee cup never got refilled. Just to see how long it would take, I just left it there, near the edge. Hoping that she might spot it or ask if I wanted any more. She didn't. I guess the regulars get more coffee. It's right next to the Interstate (aren't they all) so it's quick and easy to get back onto the highway if that's where you're headed. No wifi but there is a newspaper vending box outside (75 cents). read more

We have not been to a Waffle House in a long time, but have been to more than I can count over the years in different states and different locations here in SC. We went to this one as a sort of special treat because it was mid afternoon and we could get breakfast. My husband and I ordered eggs, sausage and grits - I stressed that I wanted my eggs WELL scrambled. Our server was Ben. The eggs were so well scrambled I could have thought I did them! The grits melted in our mouths. The sausage was also very good. I needed more jelly and got it immediately. We had tea and did not need a refill, but Ben offered a "go" cup when we were done and a box for left overs. The place was spotless, there was no blaring music and we could not have asked by a better server. Having been a waitress in my youth, I am fussy about how I am treated. This was such a good experience that it will not be long before we go back. Hopefully when Ben is working. Years ago we always went to WH after Community Theatre productions to eat and wind down. They were always wonderful to us. Once, in West Columbia, I went for lunch (alone) and could not get waited on because the waitresses were all interested in the men.
