My fiancé and I were driving through the area and we stopped here for lunch. I got a single burger with the smash fries and my fiancé got a double burger with tots. We got our food about 5 minutes after we ordered. The food was very good! The burger was fresh and super yummy! The bun was like a potato bun which was great. The fries were crispy. My fiancé loved his burger and tots. While we were eating the cashier came and checked on us and even gave us coupons for the next time we come. We really enjoyed this place! read more

As a reviewer, I usually hate leaving bad reviews, but this one I'm sure I'll enjoy this one. This location should be shut down immediately, if they're not already in the process of doing so. When one walks into a new establishment, one expects a few things. Cleanliness, good food and stellar customer service; dress to impress the public. What we walked into was far less. Empty tables with trash on them, ketchup and mustard stained floors and straw wrappers all over. We trudged along. We ordered anyways. About 10 min later, we got 3 out of the 4 burgers we ordered. After a bite of my extremely greasy burger, I noticed that it was incorrect. No biggie, so when the 4th burger arrived, I simply sent mine off to get fixed. My wife then notices her turkey burger looking quite sad, covered in a mustard/mayo sauce which was quite disgusting. I look over to my 2 daughters and see a look of disgust as well. As I pan back to my wife, she's just attempting to stifle down her first bite, which she fails to do......spitting it into a napkin. Realizing that this meal isn't going to work out for us, my wife goes to retrieve our $48 we spent here and go to dine elsewhere. We throw the burgers away, and the lady at the register hands my wife $10.10. It was at this point that I knew it was best to keep my distance and let her handle it. "Our meal was $48.20," my wife says to the smashburger rep. "For one burger?" she replies..... "Ummm...No, for the full order!"...... Well, I could continue on like this, but I just don't feel like putting this much energy into such a crummy place. Turns out, they can't refund more than $10 without regional/general manager approval. My wife insists, and they get him/her on the phone. After 15 min of arguing, my wife returns to the car with our $48 and change, shaking in anger. So, to summarize here.....terrible food, terrible customer service and filthy restaurant. Food is great. Personally prefer Smashburger over Five Guys. Foods always hot and made correctly. If the orders are 'cooked to order' I would understand the wait time at the drive through. But I definitely recommend. read more

If I could give it less stars I would. We went there today after our XC meet. We waited in the drive thru line for over 36 min- once your in your committed. We ordered 3 burgers, 2 fries with 3 drinks- paid $47 and got cold burgers and cold fries. One of the burgers had a hair in it. This place should just shut down. read more

I attempted to use the drive thru on Sunday, April 15th at 11:00 am. My friend's twins were in the hospital and I was going to take her lunch. She requested Smashburger. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get what she wanted. I pulled up to the speaker and waited for a few minutes. An employee finally came on the speaker and said "the grill was down and we don't know how long it will take to get it up and running." She then proceeded to ask if I wanted to wait. Well, why would I? She just said she didn't know how long it would take!! On my way out of the drive thru, I saw others walking into the restaurant. Smashburger at the Sandhills is a great place to eat with a great atmosphere. The food is delicious and every time we have been there, we are in and out within 30 mins or so. Now keep in mind this is not a traditional fast food restaurant chain the pumps out food and keeps it ready under a warming lamp. If speed us what you are looking for, go somewhere else. If you want delicious hand crafted burgers and sides, than I highly recommend this location. We've been here at least seven times and have yet to be disappointed. Staff is very friendly and professional as well....update 4/29/18: They've got crispy brussel sprouts now as a side. Sweet Jeebus!... it's hard to dethrone the smash fries, but I believe we have a winner. Crispy brussel sprouts are my new favorite! Never disappointed when we come here. read more

Only a few people working and a line out the door. It took 15 minutes to receive our food and the employees looked confused about where orders were going. Terrible all around! Service was horrible. This used to be a nice location. Ordered my food and waited for 20 minutes on my order. They avoided eye contact until I had to get up to ask and I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE RESTAURANT! I finally ask and they said they gave my burger away and were making me a new one. Were you going to tell me?? I finally get my order after they say they are waiting for my fries. Got my fries, got in the car only to discover my fries were ICE COLD! I go back ik the location, telling them my fries were cold. No apology. Just eye rolling from every one. Just awful! I pay way too much money for a meal at this franchise for this lack of service and cold food. Terrible. I will never patronize again and will discourage others to do as well. read more

My brother and I stopped for a quick bite to eat for lunch. We ordered our food to go. The woman who waited on us was so helpful. She explained things fully to my brother since it was his first time there and was very patient. We did not have to wait long for our food. I went to the bathroom once we ordered and by the time I came out, it was ready. The restroom was clean as well as the store which was a plus. read more

So I did a pick up order and got to the restaurant 10 mins after I ordered my food. The restaurant was empty except for the people in the drive through and the workers. I walked right in and was able to get my food. I got to the car and checked it and my fries were cold and stale like they were old and sitting out and they forget my haystack onions on my burger so I went in and asked for fresh fries and them to add the onions to my burger. There was only one lady working at the front this evening around 6pm and she had an attitude that I came back in and ignored me until I could finally get her attention. When I finally got her attention they took my food and remade it. I got the food went back to my car and decided to check it again before I drove off. This time when I checked they left the onion, lettuce, tomato, and Mayo off my burger so I had to go back into the restaurant to get it fixed. Again there was an attitude from the lady working the front and the workers in the back were making faces (they also didn't have their masks covering their face). I told her what they left off the burger this time and she went back and only told them to add the onion, lettuce and tomato and didn't tell them to add the Mayo. I didn't feel like arguing so I just took it after they remade it for the second time. The burger was very salty but I feel this is normal with this location from the other times I've came. This location is seriously not the best and if I would advise just going to another smash burger location so you don't have to deal with the attitude and your food order not being correct. read more

My second attempt to try this chain. Previously went to the one on Devine St. and tried the black bean burger which I found to be disgusting. Tried this location in Sandhills. Ordered the classic smash minus their "special dressing" which I am glad I asked what that was (it would have been mayo mustard and relish mix). Overpriced for an overcooked salty burger. Not a fan of the flimsy shoestring fries either which were also too salty. Drive through is slow since food is cooked to order which is a plus, but why have one if cars are sitting in line for 15 minutes? Spent $29.95 for 3 burgers and 4 fries. Sweet potato fries were just ok nothing special, lacked flavor and again shoestring size. Red Robin is much better. This place wasn't even busy on a Friday night which should have been a sign to stay away. A plus was the drive through staff was patient and friendly but that's about all. My boyfriend and I came in here and as we got our food we noticed our bacon wasn't cooked. Like, at all. Until I noticed I was halfway done with my burger. I'm not someone to get up and complain so I stopped eating. About 10 minutes later my stomach started getting upset and I went to the bathroom and it smelled like everyone had an upset stomachs. It was disgusting. It makes me believe I wasn't the only one with an upset stomachs after eating the uncooked food.
