My bacon cheeseburger was average, nothing extra special from what I've had at other places with a better quality. My Turkey burger is a great concept, but a but a bit salty. My onion stack was a bit disappointing due to the thin way they are made. They would be perfect for going on a burger. My fries however were a highlight. The seasoning combination is something you are more likely to find in fancier resteraunt. They don't need anything on them. I would possibly come back here simply for the service and the fries. read more

Smash burger is orland's newest burger joint! I was invited to a yelp elite event to try it out. Upon arrival, i noticed it was a "fast casual" style of restaurant. You order at the counter, and your food is called out when ready. I ordered the avocado bacon club burger with fries and my fiancé ordered double bacon smash burger and smash fries. We shared a reese's peanut butter shake for dessert. The smash fries were delicious, they are fries with garlic and rosemary seasoning. We both enjoyed our burgers as well. I will say, order a double, as the single patty is a little small of a ratio. This is a fast casual style of restaurant, so keep that in mind with expectations. The Restaurant was clean, they have some booths and larger communal style seating, but it is not a huge place. Overall, we enjoyed our burgers and experience and will returns again for those fries alone! read more

Terrible. They ran out of a lot of food and it was only 6:30p on a Saturday. What they had left was piles of grease. The young lady that was working at putting orders together had to put out a fire. Literally. A to-go order in a paper bag was placed too near to the warming lamp and the thing caught fire. Kudos to her for taking care of it herself. This was the only positive of the evening - that the whole place didn't go up in flames. Amazingly disappointed. Iced tea dispenser was broken. They were completely out of Coke. There was ONE roll of toilet tissue between the two single stall unisex bathrooms. Food was not hot. Service was slow. For $30 we could have gotten a great dish pizza that would have easily been two meals for two people. My wife and I were there at 5:10 p.m. Feb 19, 2024. There was no one at the counter, but several young women in the back were visible. They were chatting and using their phones. We waved to try to be acknowledged. Nothing. Another minute or so later a different young woman, probably the shift manager, came to the counter and took our order. She apologized for not realizing the "counter guy" had stepped away. The food was prepared quickly and was good, but the dining area, with only two other people in it, was a mess. The table tops were dirty, there was refuse on the floor, and the trash receptacles were over full. Two single burgers, two small fries, two regular drinks, and $32 poorer, we departed. Food was delicious, service was terrible. The girl working the register was on her phone while a line of us were all waiting to order. Once we finally ordered she couldn't have been more rude and seemed so bothered by everyone. She was on her phone while she took our order and still had the audacity to ask if we wanted to tip her. The entire place was trashed, there was garbage and food all over the floors. None of the tables were clean, the garbages were over flowing with trash, all of the ketchup bottles were empty, all of the trays were dirty so we had our food delivered to us in a bag. The workers were all hanging out rather than doing their job. It's sad to see what they let their employees get away with. I've worked in the industry for many years and this place is poorly ran. My experience with smashburger in Orland Park was terrible. I ordered online to be picked up at 4:15. When I arrived a few minutes early the staff suggested we take a seat. Sooo I watched our burgers get wrapped and rewrapped 4 times. Then they gave us our order I reminded them that we had fries and onion rings coming. So again our order sat ( never under a heat lamp ) just getting cold. At home of course the burgers weren't warm the blue cheese crumbles were missing and our 3 milkshakes were not drinkable! There was something off and tasted metallic. They were thrown away for fear of getting ill besides tasting disgusting! The order was 88.00 for food we could barely eat. Used to love going to smashburger when they had one in bolingbrook. Not anymore, the service was horrible it took 10 minutes to get our order taken and the burgers took forever. Not only did it take forever, but the burgers were super dry and bland. The only reason I didn't set the burger down and leave after the first bite was because I had just paid $20 on a single meal. I would have rather went to McDonald's or Burger King to get a cheap and more flavorful burger. I do not recommend bringing yourself nor your family to this restaurant for a good burger. Oh man I hate to write this one because their burgers are always good, but this last visit was just the worst. Came in on a Monday, 5/15/23. First thing when we walked up it looked like a trash can had been spilt or something because the entire front entrance coming up to and including the walkway was covered in trash. I mean not a little, a lot. Send someone out with a broom, bad first impression. Once we get inside we are the only 2 customers, 3 employees. We had to wait at the register for an unusually long amount of time for someone to finally come to take our order. The person I was with had a little trouble navigating the menu board but no assistance was offered. She takes our order then asks for a name and then turns and walks off, no thank you, just a little rude, but whatever. I wondered why we were not given a numbers since we were eating inside like usual but then watched as they just bagged the order as a to go meal and just called me over for it. When dining in they give you a number and bring it to your table for you. So I grab the food and bring it back and unwrap everything. The burgers were fine, they always are and I have no issues there. The main issue was the sides. I got smash fries. I always get smash fries. If you look at their website you can see what they look like too. They are golden yellow with rosemary and garlic in an olive oil. Well what I pulled out was almost solid brown, overcooked, and absolutely disgusting. I thought, dang I guess they just had a batch that they overcooked or reheated or something? So I head up to the counter and say to the girl who took the order , "Hey is it possible to get a new batch of fries, I eat here all the time and have never had a batch of smash fries look or taste like this, I think they got burnt or are old or something, can you make me some new ones?" She looks at me confused and says they were a fresh batch but I can make you a new one if you want. Then the cook comes out and says that they ran out of THEIR fries over the weekend so they just picked up some random fries and are just using those until they get their shipment. WAIT WHAT?? So you rain out of your proprietary house fries that you charge $4 for and instead of taking them off the menu you just replaced them with some generic fries that look and taste nothing like what you advertise on your menu and don't tell the consumer until after they call you out on it? Why not tell me before I buy that you had to sub out the fries because you ran out? I certainly wouldn't have paid $4 for what you served me. THEY WERE BURNT AND DISGUSTING and a poor excuse to be called Smash Fries. What about next week? How do I know you won't run out of something else and just head to the store, buy something off the shelf, then just serve that to us? Where are the quality controls? Overall 3 teen employees, bad attitudes, messy exterior, bait and switch products, poor excuses, horrible experience. Oh and it cost $39 for the two of us with one drink. Won't be back. read more

The food is not the issue at all here. Apparently its management. We placed a small order but there was an item left off of the list. While waiting for our food we noticed that a burger took way longer than normal. We then asked the staff who were unsure and tried to find out the issue. They then got the manager who immediately turned it on us. I am a black male and the manager at the time was a black woman. This is what made the interaction even more disappointing in a town where African American numbers are not so high. She told me that I never ordered a burger and to show my receipt. Let her know that I was never given a receipt by the cashier. Her response was "we didn't charge u". I let her know that I could not confirm this as I never received a receipt. She then proceeded to walk away with no words. I asked for her name, which she would not give but I have pictures of her and the workers that day. Not only was the manager rude and argumentative from the beginning, but not once was the goal to assist in the scenario. Great burgers and fries. One suggestion: please label gluten free for appropriate orders. Last night my wife and I got burgers and fries,no labels for either, luckily my wife had my bun toasted...otherwise I couldnt have known which one it was. I have noticed other vendors who do label which is gluten free. I have caeliac disease so it is very important I ingest zero gluten whenever I eat. Hopefully by the next time we order burgers this will be resolved. Thank you in advance.
