Visited this location today around 1:30. Upon entering there was one other table of customers and not a lot of seating. Most every table needed drinks, napkins or baskets cleared and wiped down. So there really is no ambiance. The young lady who took our order was polite and explained a few items to us we asked about. My son ordered the bacon smash burger and I had a double with lettuce, tomato and added onion. We opted to try the smash fries that are topped with rosemary, garlic and olive oil. The food came and on the first bite of our burgers we were hit with nothing but salt in our mouths. Now the bun was fresh but after trying hard to take more bites we just couldn't get past the heavy salt. You couldn't taste anything but salt. So, we moved on to the smash fries and they were the opposite. You couldn't really taste the seasoning and olive oil that were supposed to be on them. Unfortunately my diet coke was the best part of my meal. I am not sure if overly salting burgers is their recipe or just this cook. I see other reviews talking about too much salt as well. If you don't have high blood pressure, the salty burgers here will give it to you. If I could give half stars, Smashburger is a solid 3.5, but since there are so many better burger spots in South Tampa I have to round down to 3 stars. There is nothing bad about the food. It's a decent burger, better than fast food, but not as good as Burger Culture, Shake Shack, or Five Guys. Rosemary tots and onion rings were better than the fries. Kids chicken tenders were good, but I wish they were delivered to the table before our burgers or at least at the same time so our kids didn't have to watch us eat our food. That's a really good burger. Two in our Seminole/Tampa area, and tmore across the country. The cheapest burger is $8.05&it's freaking delish. Smash Sauce is a honey mustard. We opted without (taste the meat/cheese better). It isn't a huge portion- you'll want to order a double. Friendly service, very nice, they bring the order out to you. To be honest I had a hard time reviewing this place because the service was very nice but their food was slightly below average. I entered with the expectations that I would get my food and be out within 30 min. I end up waiting 45 min for my food. However, while I was waiting I got a pretty good show, because two people complained about their order. The first person was something small, but the second person was extremely upset and for good reason. I didn't get all the details but I do know that he asked them to redo it and it still came out wrong the second time, so he left yelling saying he will be back to get a refund. The workers apologized to me for the long wait and having to witness that scene so they offered me a free fountain drink. When I received my food they messed up my order too, but it was actually for the best. I ordered a single patty avocado burger with bacon but instead they gave me a double patty with large fries even thou I ordered small fries. Also, for an avocado bacon burger they only gave me a little strip of bacon which was disappointing. I guess I got more than what I paid for but for the taste it wasn't worth it in my opinion. On 8/1/25 I ordered a burger and fries for lunch through the app. I got a single with bacon, mustard, bbq, and onion. When I got home and opened the burger, it didn't have bacon or bbq, but had cheese and mayo which I do not like. I went through the app and told them of the mistake and showed the picture. They replied and asked for a copy of the receipt. I sent a copy of the receipt then they asked me to show my form of payment and my confirmation email. I then sent them what they asked for. This was on 8/8/ Today is 8/25, 17 days later and I never heard back from them. I sent everything they asked for and they swept it under the rug and have continued to ignore my emails. Went to use the gift cards on three separate occasions over several months and had issues. TL:DR - food sucked for what's expected and man, service was abysmal. I'm shocked based on service at other Smash Burgers I've been to. I don't normally review this type of place (it's corporate, not set to make much change) - But here we go. Food was subpar for the franchise. I asked if they could make the double BBQ Bacon Burger without the bun, maybe a lettuce wrap? They said absolutely. Handed me a burger sitting on a plate, with chopped, salad lettuce in a to-go container. Ok, sure. Maybe you aren't equipped for a lettuce wrapped burger, fine. I'm ok with that. The part I'm actually disappointed with, is I ordered 3 tenders instead of fries. I asked if there was dipping sauce and the lady said yes. I asked if she had blue cheese dipping sauce. All seemed normal up to this point. She then handed me a bunch of blue cheese in a cup. When I asked if this was the "dipping sauce" she said yes. I asked what else she had to which she responded, "Only ranch". I clarified 3x to make sure I heard correctly. I checked on the website menu and Uber eats to make sure that I wasn't crazy for knowing that ranch wasn't the only option. The open late till 10 pm. Not many customers during that time. I only have wait 5 minutes for them to cook. The meal is add additional 5 bucks. I decided not to. I was happy to find a burger joint open on the 4th of July in Tampa (S Dale Mabry). It's about 30 minutes from where we live. We were told there was a 15 minute delay which we accepted and got a table. The entire restaurant was full of people we didn't realize were also waiting. All in-we waited almost an hour for our food. We watched as people walked in and left angry about the wait, some even asking for a refund. Eventually they started turning people away telling them they weren't taking any more orders. They told us someone would call our name when the food was ready and that never happened. We just happened to find a bag with my name on it on a shelf in the to go section. It was missing some of the items and the worst part was inside the plastic box (I ordered a burger with no bun) was a slip of receipt paper under my patty with cheese with the name of it. I couldn't even ask for another one as we'd already waited an hour for the patty with the receipt melted to it. If you go, try calling and see if they answer. I noticed the phone was ringing off the hook and they never picked up. The food was good if you can get your order right. I can still taste the lettuce they put on the burger even though I said no lettuce. The absolute worst part IMO was they had a female cashier with curly hair pulled up and 3 young boys who looked to all be under 13, 2 in the kitchen cooking and 1 trying to figure out the orders.
